Anger Post
i have zero tolerance for people who are fond of repeating questions which are somewhat irritable. ABSOLUTELY ZERO.
i'll just flare up and BOOM baby! i'm on fire. mood swing lahh. girls call it PMS-ing. guys call it....well, i have no idea really. i just can't help it. fortunately for the world, i have my temper in check. anger management anyone?
its really so frustrating when you hear people asking silly-slash-stupid questions. as stupid as they might be to me, i believe in, "Better to ask a stupid question than to do a stupid mistake."
what the army taught me? i have no qualms to just scream my head off at people. i'm just such an idiot sometimes, but hey, what is an idiot compared to the fear you instill in people?
wahahah!
my fave quote from my cousin;
"Are you sure its safe to touch the stingrays? They killed Steve Irwin!!"
and we roared with laughter. priceless.
so tired. guess i'll sleep already.

Lovey-Doveys
i'm on leave!!!!
until the 1st of January 2008!!!
i'm taking a long, well-deserved break after all the shit we've been through. an eye-opening experience it is. i'm just so....relieved!! =D
so anyway, what have i been up to lately? hmm. sent my aunt and my cousins to the airport because they're going (or is in) Japan!! for a week. i wanna go! but due to the nature of my work, its kind of difficult to go that far.
well, almost everyone i know is going out of the country!! urmm, Cherry's gone back to Malaysia, one of my friends has gone to Thailand, one has gone to Canada, and one to New Zealand!!
I NEED A HOLIDAY! =)
haha.
next year my aunt says she's taking me to Los Angeles to Disney World! just that i have to save up the money. it would be so wonderful. i've never been to Disneyland. really. haha.
actually, Singapore itself has lots to see. just that we wouldn't have the time to really see what's there. if only i had my own car and the price of petrol is not so expensive. i would drive around Singapore!~~
so far the past three months, i've been through alot of things. much more than BMTC taught me. being in a Training Wing that has Warrant Officers for instructors. they taught us basic tactics in jungle warfare. simple but effective. the chain of command is like a melody, once it is in harmony, there's no way in the world something would go wrong.
well, besides army life, anyway, i've been to Takashimaya last week. a large crowd there as expected over the weekend. met up with my aunt and my cousins. there was a x-mas sale or whatever it is and i bought a new PS3 game; Assassin's Creed. its worth $82. more than enough to burn through a month's pay. hurhurhur.
perhaps i should rest more. i'm tired already. that 20-something feeling doesn't help. i tire easily nowadays. i lost that vigour i once had.
bahh, i can't wait for you to get home. (loves) =)

Splish-Splash, Says The Clouds...
ohh, did i tell you?
i shaved off a chunk of meat on my ear. it tore through the flesh. it was wiiiiide open.
damn it was gross. what did you expect from a consistent 5-hour sleep for 4 days straight?
shaving in the wee hours of the morning. that was not all, i also had a 1 cm gash on my palm because i fell down into a pile of thorny branches.
i wasn't listening.
10 reasons why i like you so much.
Number One: You're so unlike the others.
Number Two: You are so unpredictable!
Number Three: You're super cool.
Number Four: You're way beyond uber beautiful.
Number Five: You're just like so addictive; like candy.
Number Six: I don't mind hearing your voice everyday.
Number Seven: I must listen to your voice everyday.
Number Eight: I will want to love you everyday.
Number Nine: I wanna like you for the rest of my life!
Number Ten: You are the best thing that's happened to me.
=)
ahh, anyway, i'm getting sick almost everyday. not sick as in sick. but just unwell. maybe its the weather. its been raining all day and night but it all feels just so... enchanted. i think. it is!
au revoir!

Maybe Not...But.. Just Maybe....
i'm back from the jungle again!!
going mad already again. its been 2 whole weeks i've been out there in the wild. eat mosquitos lah. if all i can do is see trees everyday, i will go mad. mad mad mad.
nothing much actually. i was attached to the CQMS (Company QuarterMaster Sergeant) throughout the 4 days. he's quite a fun guy i think. haha.
the most irritating thing is when the instructors get abit spoilt. they're treating us like maids. what? SAF pay me $400 a month too much is it? $400 is everyday eat grass can?! i'm paid even lower than what cleaner contractors earn!!
and what? expect me to defend the country?
i'm turning into an ideologist here. realistically speaking, what can you really do with $400?
at most spend your time away in camp, eat the most suckiest food you can find for $5 a meal and sleep in sub-standard bunks. i want a revolt!!!!
i'd bet all other countries their soldiers are paid better.
so the question is.
SHOULD I SIGN ON IN THE ARMY?
haha. become Infantry Officer. die to protect, protect to die.
chiong sua vocation. i'm seriously thinking about it.
maybe someday my son can enlist in peace when i'm like the Commanding Officer of BMTC. wahahaha. the idea is there.
how how how? either sell away my life to SAF or continue to study in Uni.
help?

Jungle-licious!
just got home from a nightmarish week.
since last friday, i was being sent deep inside the jungles of Marsiling to.... erm.. fight.
our job was to defend a hill against a platoon attack. it was a hot, humid and wet jungle. as we hid within the shadows and lines of the jungle, insects flew above and crawling down on the ground.
then.... i saw, an ants nest.
"WAH LAO EH! WHAT THE FU*K?!??"
the ants were as big as my thumb!!!!
they were freaking huge with long and huge bodies!
wah, i really couldn't believe what i was seeing i tell ya.
the spiders were also unbelieveable. they were huge compared to home-found spiders.
so imagine i was in prone position with my rifle, LBV and jockey cap right on top of an ant's nest.
unbelievable.......
okay, so back to the defence scenario. i was with Khairoon, the Lance Corporal. he was supposed to retreat when my trench was about to be overrun. run he did, but he lost a magazine loaded with ammo! haha! he was lucky he found it back, if not, sign SAF 1206 Form. means have to deduct from next month pay.
so anyway, this was one tough exercise. we literally had to come down the hill and up again to transport the concertina wire up the truck. my uniform bore a hole now thanks to it.
that night we slept at 11pm.
we woke up at 5.30am the next morning.
this time was ambush. we had 'make up' on a.k.a camouflage cream on our faces. waited till noon.
while i was lying in wait for the enemy platoon, Warrant Chua told me to walk down the line in the forest to raid the enemy patrol. so i walked and walked and walked, bringing in the term 'all the trees look the same in the jungle', until i contacted the enemy and fired off 2 rounds from my SAR-21 rifle.
"Run, run, run!!!! Get back to your trench!!"
all i saw were trees running past me. until finally, i got lost. made a turn, and saw my friend.
SAVED! haha. that was scary.
day 3, a rest day for us. but it was going to be a long, cold night. i slept on a bench.
at dawn 0600 hrs, Exercise Hardmole.
we were playing the aggressors. Red Force Army.
the defenders had set up trip flares to light up the dark.
we had the centre, left and right assault force. i was the right assault force, supposed to flank the defenders down the right.
it was an uphill attack so the defenders had more advantage.
using hand signals, we moved into position waiting for the signal to attack.
10 minutes past, we were silently watching the defenders' patrols.
then finally, it was time to strike!
centre assault force went in. left and right forces were waiting for the main defence force to come. 5 minutes of gun battle ensued till they arrived.
"Left and right assault force!!! GO GO GO GO GO!!", shouted our commander.
"Right assault force, in position! engaging enemy!!", i replied.
another 15 minutes of exchanging rifle fire.
then the defender's GPMG came.
"SERGEANT! Enemy GPMG UP!!! TAKE COVER!!!"
"GRENADE!!!!!!!!.........." BOOOOOOM!!!!
and suddenly, the left assault force was wiped out. all of them were dead.
"ZAINI, run to the left, you take the left side!! enemy firepower too strong!! GO GO!"
and, i died la. naturally, because the GPMG was too overwhelming.
and because i had no ammo left.
and that was the end of the jungle warfare part on Thursday night. and i had 3 dirty uniforms. all soiled with mud, sand and grass.
Friday, i had Fighting In Built-Up Area (FIBUA).
it was near my camp, at BCTC Hill. (Basic Combat Training Centre Hill)
Exercise Mouse Trap.
we are to defend and hold 4 buildings.
that was mad, but fun. the irony of NS.
Urban Warfare, that's what its called now.
and expected time of completion was around evening. but it was stretched to 10pm!!!!
man, i was so pissed. i had the thought of going to SITEX at the Singapore Expo that evening.
we only slept at around 1am and woke up at 5.30am. i am so shagged out. i am so physically exhausted. hurhurhur. next Tuesday is only to get more worse, i'll return to Pulau Tekong for a 3.5 days field camp till Friday. sigh sigh. =(
i'm so tired......

Cherries Don't Blossom in December
under my umbrella, ella ella, eh eh eh!!
---
i was listening to the radio when Melanie called, and she said "Dear, why didn't you answer my call last night?"
"I didn't answer your call because I was out with another girl."
---
besides that, its been raining lately. always reminds me of the "Umbrella" song by Rihanna.
isn't rain romantic? i've always liked the rain.
anyway, next week, i'll have jungle training again! this time, its at Marsiling. we did some recce yesterday. it was a hell hole i'd tell ya. the 6 of us would be red enemy forces, against a wing of 60 men. of course its a simulated defence using 5.56mm blank rounds fired from SAR-21 rifle.
i'm going to post a preview of my field camp when i was in BMTC in Tekong.

can you spot me? hahahaha!
its okay, take your time because; all of us looked exactly the same!!!
take a random guess. c'mon!
well, it doesn't matter. i'm going to tell you anyway.
from the right of the photo, squatting down. the third one.
do take note that those are REAL rifles. haha! i'll shoot you! the rifles been used like since forever before me but it still got me Platoon Best Marksman. haha! just a little boasting there.
and that, my friend, is camouflage cream. it stinks on the face man. it stinks and it stings. no one likes camo cream. and helmets for that matter. there's always somebody who will just screw everything up and make us laugh.
that...., is camaraderie. =)
man, i miss those BMT days.
eh anyway, i've been reading in the papers that, divorce rates are going up!
what the eff is going on around here?!
its simple logic:
boy meets girl.
boy likes girl.
girl likes boy.
boy dates girl.
boy marries girl.
girl wants to divorce.
boy also want.
---
wah, so chim. haha.
but seriously, i wouldn't find it funny if its staring at you in the face.
i wouldn't want that.

Va-va VOOM!
driving. one of the little pleasures in life.
there i was cruising down the expressway at 100km/h from Orchard Road. it was at around 1am. the planned exit was at Xilin Avenue along ECP. when suddenly. FLASH!!!
FWAAAH! KANIN* CHA* CHE* BY*!
there was this camera flash just by the left side of the expressway.
but it wasn't taking a photo of me but the car that sped just by me at around 120km/h. it was a Toyota Camry.
i could literally see the guy behind manning the camera.
si liao lahhhh!!!! haha.
if i tio, die ah, kena revoke for speeding. it says here:
4 Demerit Points
Exceeding speed limit of vehicle by up to 20km/h.
Exceeding speed limit of the road by up to 20km/h.
Failing to give way to oncoming traffic at controlled junction.
Failing to give way at uncontrolled junction.
Failing to give way at junction.
Failing to give way at roundabout.
Crossing double white lines.
Crossing road divider.
Hindering flow of traffic.
Failing to give way to ambulance or fire brigade or police vehicle.
Driving while carrying load on a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner.
Stop or allow vehicle to remain at rest on shoulder of an expressway.
Stopping or remaining at rest on the carriageway of an expressway.
Forming up incorrectly when turning left or right.
In addition, a composition amount is imposed as follows:
Light Vehicle (unladen weight of 2500 kg and below): S$130.00
Heavy Vehicle (unladen weight exceeds 2500 kg): S$160.00
---
the speed limit was 90km/h. so i guess i should be relatively safe. should've seen my face when i saw that flash. my heart jumped.
SPEEDING KILLS!
but when i started to ram the engine, Hanisah's face was stoned as it reached 110km/h. hahahaa.
Honda's V-TEC engine is definitely solid. can't wait to test drive the new Honda Civic 2008.
i'm becoming a car and race freak.
but fuel is uber expensive man.
Formula 95 was $1.82.
that's like insane lah!
now the price of a barrel of crude oil is like roughly USD$93.
maddening i tell you.
ahh! i don't care!!! when i grow up, i wanna buy a BMW 7 Series, Porsche Carrera GT Spyder, Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Dodge Viper GTS, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and a Ferrari F50 Coupe.
1 for my mummy, 1 for my daddy, 1 for my younger sister, 1 for my youngest sister, 1 for me and 1 for my most beautiful wife in the world.
i will work hard for it! =)

Twenty What?
that 20-something dilemma.
just a while ago, i was talking to this friend of mine overseas in Malaysia. we talked about life when we were older. we talked casually at first and i wondered how it got serious like we're talking about marriage and stuff.
i was like, "I wanna get married at around 25 years old."
she's like, "That's too young, 28 years old is ideal!"
and we went arguing and debating to see who was on top. friendly debate la.
my ideal life would be:
1 wife (and only)
2 daughters (to make myself happy)
2 sons (to make my spouse happy)
alot of girls i spoke to wanted sons more than daughters. why!!!?
daughters are better!
no need to send them to Tekong when they are 18.
family of 6. isn't that a big one. so when it comes to buying a private transport. i might have to consider the size of my family.
then comes education. household expenses. bla bla blaa...
but when it comes to these things, we might have already planned, but always take them as they go.
why get married so fast? maybe girlfriend better.
i think i would treat a girlfriend better than treating a wife.
because...............
girlfriend is nicer to say than wife. -_-"
imagine this:
my wife is the most beautiful girl in the world. i love her.
my girlfriend is the most beautiful girl in the world. i love her. (hint)
think for a moment. actually if you ask me, i don't see any difference so i just wasted the last 5 minutes thinking about it.
but to find a wife:
wife1 = knows how to cook
wife2 = knows how to manage the household
wife3 = knows how to take care of mother-in-law
wife4 = knows how to handle children
wife1 + wife2 + wife3 + wife4 = superwife squared
quite a number of people i noticed liked scolding and beating their children in public. which is no good la. children are human too, they have feelings and feel ashamed when scolded in front of other people.
children are the mirror of the parents' character. bad parents = bad kids. simple logic.
i'm not saying i'm good either. what i'm trying to say is, whenever handling kids, try to set a good example.
but when it comes to discipline. HAH!. it must be top notch. at least for me.
i didn't get whacked by belts or hangars for nothing when i was young.
last but not least; i can't wait to get married. hahaha!

Happy Birthday!
happy birthday to me!
i'm 20 already! 2 decades old. a quarter of my lifespan. hopefully. =)
as per every year, i received the same old greetings. you know; well, the current template now is erm,
"Happy Birthday! Have a nice day."
something like that. i'm not complaining, just grateful. you know. its just this feeling you get when someone remembers your birthday. this warm, fuzzy feeling.
i had to spend my 20th birthday in some god-forsaken camp. but fortunately for me, there was no party; blanket party. in fact, i had to spend my time at the medical centre!
it all started after lunch. i had complained of a really bad headache. my friend gave me some medicine. those all-in-one kind. it was 50mg la. just a bit too strong for me. usually, 20mg - 30mg is my tolerance level; meaning, some mild medication was good enough for me. i had overdose, so naturally, the body would react in an abnormal way.
so i took 1 tablet. it seemed ok for a little while. until my right eye became itchy. and i thought it was irritated by the dust because i was helping Warrant Victor with the Deepavali celebration decoration in the Mess Hall. 2 hours went by and my right eye swelled to a size of a 50-cent coin. i thought, well, maybe i was allergic to the dust right. so i ignored it, washed it eventually.
and somehow i found out my right eye couldn't open as wide, and my friend highlighted that my eye was swollen la.
again, i ignored until i saw my left eye beginning to swell. i went to the Medical Centre immediately. they gave me an iodine jab; leaving me in a drowsy state. i hate medicine really. and i tried to fight off that drowsy state. but! as luck would have it. i fell asleep. the drug got the better of me.
the usual, my vision became blur, i hear voices. i don't know why. the room is so quiet. no seriously, i mean. isn't it freaky?
so the doc said i had an allergic reaction. though i don't understand why. but it isn't serious.
the best thing was, the medic injecting me didn't have the faintest clue on where he should poke me. he said, "if you lucky, if not... good luck."
i said, "well, damn to whatever is going to happen. i'm not scared of needles."
its annoying when i get sick. its not like i don't take care of myself.
how many times do you say, "Take care of yourself", to people and really meant it?
i don't smile for the sake of smiling, i don't say it when i don't mean it.
so that was my story of my 20th birthday. not even my closest friends knew about it. hah!
the next time you want to let a friend know you care about them and cherish them as a friend, please do remember their birthday. even if it takes the whole world to remind you, do take the effort to wish them. it goes such a long way indeed.
i'm 20 now. can i have my daughter please? =)

About Myself
time to sleep!
but before i turn in for the night.
my friend asked me to do a favour.
my friend said, 'Tell me more about yourself.'
and not very often, i got a mind block. what about myself?
erm.
i didn't know what to say.
so, i did a little bit of research, and i found out more about... me! =)
Name: Muhammad Ruzaini
DOB: 14 November 1987
nowadays, that's all you need to know about a person.
but wait! there's more!
according to well, the Chinese, i'm born in the year of the RABBIT!
and erm, Western people says i'm a Scorpio. (isn't it a bad one; indeed.)
it says here:
---
RABBIT BABY:
Everyone loves a rabbit, they’re cuddly cute and full of fun. You can take almost everything you think about rabbits and apply it to your new born astrological Rabbit.
It is a fact that the Rabbit baby is more likely than any other sign to have hordes of women crowding around making strange cooing noises. This is because the Rabbit infant simply oozes cute appeal. However, as well as being the most appealing baby on the block the Rabbit is also wise beyond its years.
Even before the Rabbit is in Kindergarten he or she will have understood more about the way the world works on an emotional level than most adults. The Rabbit can often be a quiet child and is sometimes quite shy, but this is not a worry because its easy going nature means that the Rabbit will always have friends.
The most compatible match for a Rabbit is the Sheep or the Pig.
---
can you believe it? no wonder.
ohh here's something about Scorpio.
---
SCORPIO BABY:
Your baby looks at you with what seems to be a level of understanding and insight far beyond their years. If this happens to you it’s more than likely that you have a Scorpio baby.
Scorpio is a very mysterious sign and you may well find that at times you feel as though the little infant chewing on a rattle across from you knows exactly what you are feeling and understands intuitively the relationship between you. Scorpio children can be quite secretive and they will no doubt find their own special den somewhere in the house where they can keep all of their special things.
They are thoughtful little people and you will often be surprised by the perceptiveness of their comments. Scorpio is the most loyal of all the signs as well and even when your children are getting older they will remember how you looked after them when they were tiny and recognize the special nature of that bond.

wow. amazing. but they only apply to babies right?.... right?!
erm, not exactly.

The SCORPIO Man
And her eyes immediately met those
of a large, blue caterpillar that was sitting on the top with its arms folded, quietly smoking a long hookah . . .
The caterpillar and Alice
looked at each other in silence,
If you're in love with a Scorpio male and the word passion frightens you, put on your track shoes and run as if King Kong were pursuing you. He is.
I'm not speaking of romantic passion alone, though that may be at the head of the list. I also refer to passionate intensity about politics, work, friendship, religion, food, relatives, children, clothing, life, death and any other categories you can think up. A Scorpio man is not exactly what your psyche needs if you're repelled by emotional excess. Don't look back. Just run.
You'll think I've taken leave of my senses if you've just met that particular Pluto person. He's so calm and steady. How could anyone with such obvious self-control be passionate, let alone dangerously so? How indeed. Because he's only bluffing with the surface cool. Inside, his passions are as red hot as that stove you burned your hand on when you were three or four years old and getting into things out of your reach. This man may also be out of reach. He's sizzling underneath his deceptively controlled manner. Don't touch. You know perfectly well how long it takes for bums to heal. Remember? Your hand was stinging for weeks after that episode with the stove when you were in your Buster Browns. After this experience, your heart will burn for months, maybe years, and first aid kits will do little good. Grandma's favorite saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," applies to both stove burns and Scorpio singes, so play it safe. Make sure you know where you're going and with whom.
If your Sun sign gives you an asbestos, fireproof nature, go ahead and play with explosives. You may be able to keep the flames under control and have yourself a powerful fire to warm your heart for a lifetime. Perhaps you're passionate about things yourself. Fine. Then it's simply a matter of degree of heat. If your passion has an automatic thermostat, so it can be turned down to cool when his reads hot, you're safe. Let's pretend you are. The girls who are in danger should be in the next state by now, if they ran fast enough. They'll thank me someday after they've married a nice, safe Libran or Cancerian.
As for you women who have analyzed yourselves as safe in a Pluto relationship, let's see if we can find what's hidden behind those hypnotic, piercing Scorpio eyes. It's pretty certain he hasn't made a neutral impression on you. He's either got you thinking he's boyish and sweet, or that he's wicked and passionate. (There goes that word again.) The trouble is, he's neither. Or maybe I should say he's both. Well, this isn't getting us anywhere. Let's start all over again.
In a word, this man is invincible. Just behind his frosty reserve is a huge pot of boiling steam that bubbles and seethes continually. If you're lucky, he'll keep the lid on. tight for a lifetime, but a deep injury can blow it right off with a brilliant explosion. It's kind of fascinating to watch. if you're not in its direct line of destruction. Step aside, if you feel it coming. And don't do anything to cause it yourself.
He'll bewilder you with his twin Scorpio traits of passion and reason. He's master of both: intellect and emotions rule him equally. Scorpio is more than intelligent. If he's a highly evolved specimen, he's also deeply philosophical, concerned with mysteries of existence, and he'll come close to knowing the answers.
There are Scorpios who can live a spartan existence in a bare room, denying themselves every comfort for some obscure, aesthetic reason, but the true nature of the sign is sensual. Normally, Scorpio will surround himself with luxury. He'll lean toward excesses in food, drugs, drink, and yes-in love. Most assuredly in love. He's geared for it, with confidence. Romance will never frighten him, puzzle him, or catch him unaware. It's been on his mind ever since he rode his first bicycle. Maybe even his first tricycle. Of course, you could conceivably know a Scorpio who is so absolutely innocent-looking, with such disarming, youthful charm and lack of obvious seductive mannerisms, he's convinced you that passion is over-rated in Pluto males. He may even have freckles, and a whole drawer full of Boy Scout merit badges. But ask his wife. Try something like, "Say, Bertha-or Rosalie-or Sheila-or whatever-is your husband, well, is he passionate?" She might summon enough dignity to tell you it's none of your business, but your answer will most likely be hysterical laughter. Between her peals of mirth, she'll be remembering many days of his intense, passionate declarations about air pollution, housebreaking the dog, narcotics, long hair, birth control, and many nights of ... well, and many nights. This will be true even if her husband looks like Huckleberry Finn, and doesn't even remotely resemble King Kong.
These men have an explosive temper that can strike a life-time wound. When the Scorpio lashes his deadly tail, the sting bites hard. He not only enjoys winning, he has to win. Something inside him dies when he loses, even in small ways; yet oddly enough, a Pluto man normally practices good sportsmanship. Like all his other emotions, disappointment never shows on those set features, and his reactions are rigidly controlled, including his romantic intentions. If there's a good reason to avoid the relationship, hell bum inside while he's projecting a glacial calm outwardly. He's also capable of torturing a girl cruelly before he finally decides to grab her by the hair and drag her off to his jungle of honeysuckle vines. Naturally, there are some November fellows who will gently propose on bended knee. They'll behave very properly, with or without a chaperone, but don't be deceived. It's merely the Scorpio desire to keep dignity at all cost. Your reputation must be spotless. He won't stand for ridicule or cheapness, for all his erotic nature.
Pluto people can have either a Sunday School teacher horror of sin, an attitude which produces intensely dedicated evangelistic religious leaders, like Billy Graham, or they can be driven by curiosity to penetrate every dark corner of the human mystery. Sometimes, both attitudes are combined, resulting in the hypocrisy or self-delusion of an Elmer Gantry or a Reverend Davidson in Rain.
Every Scorpio is a law unto himself, and completely unconcerned with what others think of him. He would like to be respected as a good, solid citizen, but if it interferes with any of his intense ideas or goals, then he couldn't care less, and those who gossip can just go to the place Pluto rules. None of his important decisions are hampered by the opinions of his friends, relatives, neighbors or enemies. I'm sorry to say, not even by you. Don't run away yet. Such beautiful self-containment and sureness of purpose can create a mighty attractive, free spirit who's not always fussing about what people think. Are honesty and courage and integrity such bad bargains? They may have lost a little of their sparkle in today's marketplace, but rub off the dust they've collected, and you can still get them appraised as genuine.
It's quite an experience to see the Scorpio man operate under adversity's black clouds. While others are mumbling and crumbling and grumbling, he is at his forceful, courageous best. He seldom wallows in envy or self-pity, and he doesn't happen to think that life owes him a single farthing. You can just imagine how much time that saves. Instead of pouting in hurt anger when real troubles hit, he meets them head on. Conquer them? But of course.
That's what he was born to do.
One thing is a little frightening, and may require courage on your part. Scorpio loves mystery and there's not a single one that crosses his path he won't solve in detail. Since the eternal feminine mystery is any girl's most potent defense and offense, being stripped naked of your mystery can leave you feeling a little exposed. You'll scarcely have a secret left when he starts probing with those burning eyes and piercing questions.
He has high standards, and he won't choose his friends loosely. They'll have to measure up. This is a marvelous, rare kind of man who can share a jug of spirits and joke with rough humor among other men like a bawdy Elizabethan; then tap that deep, inscrutable nature and turn into as gentle and tender a lover as Robert Browning. If there's anything more to ask for in a male animal, I don't know what it might be. Submissiveness and forgiveness? Detachment and caution? That's not fair. You knew he was short on those qualities back in the beginning.
He can be cruel sometimes, for his own, unfathomable reasons, and he may even exhibit a sadistic sense of wit by describing you as fat, dumpy, shrewish and square in front of friends. It's his private joke. Grin, if it kills you. You've been warned that Scorpio is compelled to conceal his motives, and this tendency isn't watered down in love. It may even be intensified. He's not about to display his true emotions in front of the world like a vulnerable, smitten schoolboy. Later, when you're alone, he'll tell you what he really thinks.
Marriage gives you a certain security, but if he pulls some of his Pluto tricks before the knot is tied, it may hurt, and you'll fail to get the humor. Still, don't even think about telling him that his harsh, self-sufficient who-needs-you? game makes you feel like jumping off a bridge. The Scorpio man will just tell you to go ahead and jump. It may take a while to adjust to his personality, but it will eventually toughen you up. If you're too soft, you'll bruise easily with a Scorpio. Never ask him what he thinks of a new dress or hair-do, unless you're prepared to be stung by the brutal truth. At least you'll know his positive statements are honest, and not pasted together with the sticky glue of bored, insincere flattery. It's better to brave a good, healthy "You look awful," now and then, and be rewarded by an occasional "You're really beautiful, you know," than to swallow a constant diet of vague remarks like: "Yes, dear, it's lovely, sugar. Mmmmm-just fine, pigeon," from other men. Don't you think so? I do. But then, you're the one who has to live with it.
When it comes to jealousy, you'd better tread very, very carefully. He could bum and erupt like Mount Vesuvius in its heyday if you should accidentally wink near a man when a cinder gets in your eye, and if you ever give him a real reason to be suspicious, you're a very brave woman. But you'd better pack away your own jealous streak in the trunk, and then lock it. It will make no impression at all to drench him in angry tears or reproachful recriminations. No matter how he behaves, just say to yourself, "He loves me, and he will never discard real love for physical promiscuity. He's loyal to his deep ties, and he's only practicing his hypnotic art with those girls." Say it once before each meal, in the morning and at bedtime. Especially at bedtime. Women will find him irresistibly attractive, but keep remembering that if anyone is strong enough to resist such continual flattery and temptation, it's a Scorpio. Doesn't that make you feel better? It should. It's true.
He'll probably be a stern father. The children won't get away with an ounce of lazy or frivolous behavior. Hell teach them to respect property, but he'll also teach them to respect themselves. Youngsters will seldom get the chance to form any false values around a Scorpio papa. Although he'll love them with as much sincere passion as he puts into everything else he cares about, he won't Stand for any nonsense. He'll protect them when they need it, but they'll soon get the message that he expects them to stand alone. If they borrow money from him, he's liable to charge them interest on it, but it's for their own good. They may not realize that until he's gone some-day, but the lesson will eventually come home to them. Lots of children of Scorpio fathers resent his high-handed authority and tight discipline throughout childhood, and especially during the rebellious years, but as adults, they realize how lucky they were to have his firm guidance. From no other father can children learn so much truth about the way life really is. Often his offspring will find him gentle and funny; still there won't be any question about who is boss. He'll joke and laugh with them, and give them a sense of freedom, but the chalk line will be drawn, and they'll know not to cross it. Even as they resent his attitude of command, the children will secretly admire his strength and try to imitate it, but occasionally it works the other way. A gentle child may feel bullied and cowed by Scorpio power, and retreat into neurotic introversion, fearing to risk his displeasure. Then you'll have to remind him that affection and tenderness sometimes get more results than his normal, unbending, autocratic manner. Just be sure you remind him tactfully and respectfully. A Scorpio man will never allow a woman to dictate to him. Never in a million years. He is the man and you are the woman, and if you have any doubts about it, you will be set straight so surely that you'll never need but one lesson. Yet, a Scorpio husband with a wife who truly understands him, will be tender, sympathetic, considerate, and repay her loyalty with the kind of love most women only read about and wish for.
It won't help much to try to resist this man, once the flame has been stirred and he's decided he wants you. Hell hypnotize you right out of all your good intentions. The magnetism of Scorpio men is almost tangible. You feel you can reach out and touch it. When you do, you may get a surprise. It will bum you only if you're over-sensitive and scorchable. If you're patient and strong, it will be like touching cool marble. Girls are out of their league with him. It takes a brave woman to fly with the eagle and not crash. He can soar higher than his symbolic bright star Antares in the constellation of Scorpio, then dip down suddenly to earthy expression. Hang on tightly, but keep your eyes open wide, and you'll see horizons with him the timid will never see. Look over there, just beyond the tall fir trees - did you ever in your whole life experience such a sunrise? Sunset will be just as grand.

WOAH! explosive anger ah. unbelievable. well, my friend, that is some of my traits. BUT! as usual, analysing and describing people is very subjective.

Shopping Sp-free
shopping!!! its fun, with the right kind of people.
i just came back from Marina Square with my aunt, and all my cousins on my Mum's side. we got out at around 3pm and went to eat at Burger King at Tampines Mall. i got chilli stain on my polo. sheesh.
but anyway, we reached City Hall at around 4pm. first off we went to all the shops on the 1st floor. we entered shops like Zara, UCB, Puma, MNG. i'm not an avid shopper really. window shop; maybe. my type of person, i only buy what is necessary, not what i want. you don't see me buying a shirt that costs $102.90.
that's what i got. a polo T from Crocodile. okay. its a simple plain polo with just a crocodile logo on it! i've never bought a shirt that costs more than $30~~!
so anyway, when the salesgirl said got a 15% discount. it was $92 something. and cheekily i asked her to say the price again and i gave her that cheeky grin. then i said something like, 'Erm, do you know how much this polo T i'm wearing costs? 16 dollars.'
she laughed.
my aunt bought each of us 'something'. like everyone.
my cousin bought a shoe that was like $169 which was a Puma designer shoe and it looks fabulous.
my 4 female cousins, well there's only 3 male cousins including me, bought like 2 or 3 tops which was like i dunno, maybe $40+?
so i guess, my aunt's receipt would add up to what, SGD$450?
ouch.
maybe i should start eyeing that $10,000 per month job.
please have mercy, i only earn $400 per month as a Private in the Singapore Armed Forces.
i'm waking up at 4am tomorrow morning and i am not sure why in the world am i doing here. HAH! all in a day's work. either way i'm going to have only 4 hours of sleep.
this project i'm working on. which is....erm...classified (i wish).
but in any case, once my hair dries up, i'm off to sleep! =)
oyasumi!
i do miss you. i have your photo in my wallet! =)

Pesterminators!!
we soldiers are the politicians' pawns of war.
like one said, 'Politicians are policy-makers, we, gentlemen are instruments of those policies.'
in war, Privates and Corporals are expendables.
but the question is, when there's really a war, are we going to die for our country?
dying is such a subjective topic in today's context.
oh, i forgot to mention.
the other day, me, Jaiya and Chia Seng, were told to clear this rubbish bin on the floor where our bunks were. the bin got this stench to it. well, it turned out to be a rubbish bin full of maggots!!! DISGUSTING!!!
we opened the lid, the whole underside of the lid was infested with maggots. and since i got 'arrowed' again. i had to carry the whole bin from 4th floor all the way down behind Company line to the boots washing area. have you any friggin' idea how disgusting that is?!
they had little bodies that wiggle and wiggle and had white colour and and and and...wow, just amazing.
but NO, that's not all we've cleared out. next stop, the stores room.
there's this particular corner of the store which had a thin piece of wood on one of the shelves.
turns out there's a huge friggin' termites nest!!
it really doesn't help if you're just given concertina wire gloves to pick up the pieces of wood. so we had this ingenius idea of using spades instead. its so gross; its so disgusting.
again, since nobody volunteered to be the frontman, i, Private MD RUZAINI, 'decided' to be 'arrowed' again by having the honour of holding the spade to clear out the nest.
i spaded out the little ants and made them quiver with fear. wahahahah.
woah, unimaginable, but i've lived through it wearing boots, army pants, and t shirt. HAH!
and my underwear, of course.
anymore gross encounters? let me think.......
well, nothing more la, the closest one i remembered was out in the jungle in BMT.
i remember we had FCO (Fire Control Order) practice.
i was one of the left wing. we had to run to cover behind trees and prone within 4 seconds. it was sick la. i didn't know there were exposed roots and rocks above ground because it was covered by thick marsh. as i went ran and went to prone position, my groin, which means to say my balls lah, smashed down on the rocks!!!!!!
that was the time when i had screamed out loud but was silenced by the rifles firing. it was very painful. i thought i had nearly lost my balls there. i squirmed lah. women wouldn't know the pain. hahaha!
come to think of it, its already been coming to 6 months being a soldier.
i wonder what the next 1 year and 6 months is going to be like.

You & Me For Life
before i knock myself out to bed.
here. is my resolve.
determination, courage, fearless.
これでわたし の げんかいじゃない!!
it has taught me to fight forward. it will be my source of my resolve. it will be what i will live by. these will be my principles. i will stand by this resolve.
and i will protect it, WITH MY LIFE!

Can I Quit?
this a bad week. i don't know why i'm here anyway. i should be recovering lost sleep!
firstly, i had flu earlier during the week. well, not a bad one but still enough to render me half-zombie. i simply hate falling sick.
then again, having 4 hours of sleep for 2 days straight isn't helping. i'm not in my best of mood.
people think that being a soldier is glamorous, exciting and full of adventure. some might even say interesting. well, let me tell you this, that is just the good side. once they've seen the bad side, well, let's just say its a little bit too late.
i wanna go fishing someday. maybe next week. hah!
yay!
boat fishing lah. i where got fish at longkang.
you know what. you know what will make me happy right now.
strawberries!
i'm just too easy to please; if you know the right stuff! hah! =P
i may look very picky but don't be fooled. really. wait. is it?
but i am picky. sometimes.
its only 7.38pm and i want to go to bed.
seriously, it IS tiring.
you have no idea.....
tomorrow i've to wake up like 5am. and report back to camp at 7am.
sickening. and its an hour train ride there.
i'm so sick, i feel like dying already.
NS is not fun anymore.

Wake Me Up When November Comes
FUWAHHH!
my last post was almost half a month ago. finally, i've nearly forgotten about my blog. i've been so busy lately.
if not for some people asking me whether my last post was actually true. well.....
*breathe in*
its just a story that i made up after a book i read recently. it had struck me whether i was a good enough writer to write my book. seems like it. heh. fooled some people!! GOTCHA!
and no, i'm not getting married neither did some random girl proposed to me. NO AH! NO.
not now. soon lah, soon.
but Melanie Tay Xue Ping is really a nice girl. yes; in my dreams!
i have no idea how i came up with that name also.
*breathe out*
oh my love its you that i dream of,
oh my love since that day,
somewhere in my heart i'm always dancing with you
in the summer rain.
so did you enjoy my short story?
i bet you did. i think.
hah! who cares what i think.
on the other hand, i'm waiting patiently for my next pay day on the 10th of November.
oh. and someone's birthday is coming too. guess who's.

Proper Proposal Pronto
Her: Dear, do you love me?
Him: Of course I do, darling.
Her: How much?
Him: I would die for you.
Her: Then.... prove it.
---
She called me over to her house one day while I was out of camp on a weekend.
'Dear...', she whimpered. 'Switch off the TV will you?'
'Why?', I wondered and without knowingly, she grabbed the remote and switched it off before I could utter any sound of disappointment.
By then, I knew something was up. She wasn't this forceful before but her face was as calm but cold as the Arctic sea.
'What's wrong darling? you look very distracted.' I responded with a hint of anger in my voice but at the same time looking puzzled.
Melanie was the type of girl who didn't like to be rough or crude. She was the girl-next-door that I could ever dream of. A perfect family. Her mother is a doctor at a local hospital while her dad, as strict as any dad would be, is a law practitioner.
'Dear....I wanna talk.' she whimpered softly.
She had sat on my lap while fondling my earlobe playfully. I couldn't understand what her motive was but i knew what's going to happen next. Melanie had a drink earlier before i came to her house that evening. She smelt of the familiar strawberry scent that I once told her I liked the first time we met 2 years ago.
'Talk about what?'
'Talk about us. I want to know how you feel about me. I want you to love me the way you did like when we first met.'
Silence fell into the room. Helplessly, I tried to make out what she had just said and at the same time try not to look clueless. My efforts were in vain. What happened next had brought what any man wouldn't think of.
Melanie stood up, adjusted the hem of her ruffled skirt and kneeled down before the couch I was sitting on and upon clearing her throat, she said 'I'm a modern woman, Zaini. Modern women don't need to wait to be asked.'
She continued, 'Zaini, will you take me, Melanie Tan Xue Ping, as your wife?'
'WHOA!', I cried out loud while not trying to yank her soft hands away.
'We're not young anymore. I want to settle down. I want to have children.....'
The list could go on and on and on but I just couldn't think of anything else. Why suddenly? and most importantly, why now?
My mind whirled around and my stomach was in knots as though a rocket had blasted through it. Worse still was the expression I had printed on my face.
'Umm, Mel,... I... umm. yes. no.... maybe?' I thought out loud.
'Yes or no?.... or you don't know?' with a slight disappointment in her eyes and in her mellow voice.
'Mel, I really don't know. I'm still serving my National Service. I'm afraid that I couldn't support you enough for you to be happy. Mel..... please... understand me will you?', feeling very merciful to what is going to happen next.
'We've known each other for 2 years. 2 years!! and you don't know??!'
Melanie's eyes began to swell like puffy creampuffs. Tears started to roll along her pure, white cheeks. Her voice had become shaky.
'Mel..' I explained, 'I know how you feel, trust me. I have loved you as much as I did when we first met in school, remember?' I paused and then continued, 'I wanted to wait till the right time but...'
'This isn't the right time, correct?' Mel interrupted and regaining her composure.
Still, I was searching her face in search of that magical answer I was secretly hoping that would appear. It didn't, of course.
Mel had cried to her sleep on my lap that night and I carried her to the bedroom, laid her down, covered her with a blanket and kissed her gently on the forehead.
I left the house at around 2.45am thinking indignantly about our future.
---
i have nothing to say really. enjoy reading.
Him: Of course I do, darling.
Her: How much?
Him: I would die for you.
Her: Then.... prove it.

I left the house at around 2.45am thinking indignantly about our future.

i have nothing to say really. enjoy reading.

Hari Raya!!
i'm very tired. tired. tired. tired!!
i'm always so tired.
i mean, what's not to like? 4 hours of sleep per day, and we do all the kind of stuff we usually wouldn't do on a sunny day.
today's two rounds run around Pasir Laba Camp was horrific! omg. but at least they let us run at our own pace.
for those of you uninformed, i'm currently attached to Advanced Specialists' Training Wing or simply ASTW. now my job, is to be rotated, as a Wing Orderly Sergeant. which basically means, i'm the one whose gonna keep the place spick and span at all times whenever and wherever.
anyway, for the weekend updates. last Saturday, me, my mum, my sisters and some relatives went to the graveyard of my grandparents. i haven't been a good boy recently. i know. but well, things often doesn't seem to be the way it is.
ahh well, i do so miss them. but someday, we're all going to die...somehow. (".)
sunday....where did i go huh?????
i can't remember. tsk! how annoying.
oh dude, i seriously can't remember. maybe i'm on autopilot. going through motion.
tomorrow is.... HARI RAYA!!!!!
yeahoo! i'm finally looking forward to something which i missed last year because of my Thailand OSIP. hahaha!!
as cliche as it might sound,
Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir Dan Batin!~
have a nice day ahead everyone! =)
i'm happy at the very least.
i missed you darling.

MC Extension!!!
sometimes i look very distant. i'm not denying it.
today, i got an extension of MC because of my persistent fever of 38.9 degrees Celcius. i went to the Accident & Emergency Department at Changi General Hospital. my head still hurts from the fever. man, that sucks.
there's this lady in front of me in the waiting area whom i noticed. well, not that i was being nosy or anything. she was in the same waiting area as me at the A&E fever waiting area. her husband ,i presume, was sitting at the non-fever waiting area. all was fine when her husband wanted to get her some newspaper to read. i was terrified at what i saw next....
she gestured to the husband to 'shoo' away!!... i saw lah. then just see lor. wah, i damn shocked. i was like...'erm hello, he's trying to bring you some newspaper to read man!!!'
like the least you could is to politely reject it!!!!
i seriously don't know what's happening to people these days.
ok fine, whatever right.
i got a 1 day extension of MC. fine by me.
damn sian man.
oh and i'm getting a new car soon!!!
heh heh heh heh. Honda Stream most likely. family car.
fine by me!! i'm just too happy to drive it.

its killing me. FUCK!
why, why, why. tell me why.
i hate this. i hate this. i hate this!
and i hate medicine!
why do we have to get sick anyway!?
don't know, don't care.
on a bright note however, at least i can rest at home.
and i'm too depressed on training. think i need to talk to someone. a counsellor perhaps?
they make us go mad. really.
........ -_-"
there's this cat that i like. it's blue and has a magical pocket!!!

DORAEMON!!!
okay, maybe i do look like it...

Sick Sick Sick!
do you know how it stinks when you develop a fever in the middle of the night?!!?
i was given 2 days of medical leave this morning. its been such a long time since i last had fever. can you believe it? but it struck me good this time; the whole morning, my head has been throbbing like non-stop. even my sergeant said, 'How are you? ok or not? *shake head* feeling very 'seh' right?"
after i reached home, i ate some chicken and some medicine before i fell asleep. but my fever is not that high, about 37.7 degrees only. and i keep hearing ringing in my ears. irritating!! as much as i hate to be sick, however, i'm glad to have a break.
well, actually, its not much of a big deal but my head is really bothering me. aching like mad since this morning. and my lower back too. i have sore throat which hurts everytime i swallow something. and my body feels kinda warm still.
aaaaahhhh!!!
bye lah!

Cherries Don't Blossom In September
my whole body is aching like mad. literally.
training in SISPEC is just too tough!!!
now i can understand what my sergeants in BMTC were saying, "Expect worse in unit life when you graduate. BMTC is just a playground for you all."
in the morning, we Muslims wake up at 4am to eat breakfast. then we fall in again at 5.45am to do 5BX. there's warm-up for 5BX, 5BX itself and cooldown for 5BX. that's not the end of the morning exercise!! there's still a 2km run!!!!!
we were like, "OUCH!!!"
after that, the non-Muslims go for breakfast, area-cleaning time. at 7.30am, there's first parade. from then on, lessons start. be it physical training or lectures.
the worst of it was SOC. we had a 700 metres full rundown of it. complete the obstacles and another 700m run. so we thought, "YES!!! we had completed SOC!!! time to go back..~~".
but we thought wrong.
they gathered us up again and said, "OK! LETS GO THROUGH THE OBSTACLES AGAIN!!!"
we were like, "EEEEKSSS!!!!"
then when they saw our exhausted faces, they barked at us to move faster and faster.
"WHY?! SHAG CANNOT THINK AH!!?!? MOVE FASTER!!! FASTER!!! FASTERR!!!!! YOU FU*KING CHEE BY*, MOVE FASTER!!!".
on one occasion, i almost fainted because i was fasting while doing PT.
not that dramatic, yes i know!
and we virtually have no break at all. after a lesson ends, we changed attire, 10 minutes later, the next lesson starts. it practically drags the whole day. the training doesn't stop at dinner. it continues all the way till about 9.30pm. by that time, i would be so exhausted and tired, i simply didn't have time for a phonecall or messages. at the very least, i would call my family if there's time before lights out because if i didn't sleep by lights out, i would be super tired the next day.
my abs are aching like super mad. its quite difficult for me to laugh or cough. my calf muscles are complaining and i can't even stand without aching a muscle.
i reckon being in SISPEC will be the fittest time of my life. since enlisting 3 months ago, i've lost nearly 20 kilos!! more is to come in SISPEC. and i can feel my muscles growing back during pre-poly age, only they're getting bigger. my tummy fats are almost non-existent.
anyway, apart from my routine there, recently, last Wednesday, i had my TP driving retest. and........
I PASSED!!!!!
with only a penalty of 10 points from the previous 42 points!!!! wooohooo!!!!!!
now all i need is just a car. *grin*
i'm trying to enjoy as much as i can today, tomorrow, i'm booking in again at 10pm. its only for 9 weeks more. its worth the sacrifice. it'll help me to get fit for free. =)
now i present to you; the SISPEC school song:
School of Infantry Specialists, here we come.
Soldiers of every creed and race.
Soldiers to Specialists we will become
Leaders of 6 men to set the pace!
SISPEC Warriors, we are the Warriors.
SISPEC Warriors, with pride we will lead.
Fearlessly we lead with pride,
Training hard, full of might.
Train to lead by day and night
We will strive for greater heights!!
---
i'm now currently in Juliet Company.
so its SISPEC/ J Coy PLT 3 SECT 4.
but Juliet!? i'm in a girls coy. hahah! nah. its a codename.
those sergeants from other Company would say, "You're from J Coy? sorry ah, there's no Romeo here."
or, "Cheer up J Coy!! Romeo is just around the corner!!".
sickening. really.

Where On Earth Is Carmen Santiago?
one day, i was asked by a friend of mine.
"you in army already, never sign-on ah?"
my answer: NEVER!
training to defend the country is hard enough. i'd leave to the dying part to the Regulars. they don't pay me enough to train to defend the country, neither do they give enough to oblige my life for the country.
if most people think like me. then, too bad!!
on this one-of-kind day, where it rained heavily towards late morning and bright and sunny afternoon, i really hate to go out.
why why why? tell me why!?
you know there's this old cartoon, erm, what's it called...... The Jetsons!!!
haha. my favourite cartoon last time was Scooby Doo. my favourite hero was Ultraman.
i didn't like Superman. why?.... because he wore red underwear outside of his trunks. kinda lame i know. but nevertheless, i was never deprived of cartoon when i was young.
speaking of which, i've been watching alot of cartoons at home really. i haven't even played my PS3 since my block leave started. gotta get new games soon, but i really haven't had time to play.
maybe, i think, its time to get a new girlfriend!!!!!
*grin*
*grin somemore*........
i think i know who..........
tell me who!!!! who who who!!!!!!
have a good time guessing.
probably, you know her from somewhere; somehow.
i'll give you some coordinates, find her!! (if you'd be bothered to.)

いちょご たべたい!!!
introducing my favourite fruit.
the strawberry!!!!!

bet you didn't know this right, right, right?!!?
i like how sour or sweet strawberries can be. just like me. unpredictable. hyak hyak hyak.
there's never a moment of eating ice cream without strawberries. but otherwise, there's always cookies and cream. =D
and usually, this is the time of the year i crave for ice cream. ahh, but its too bad its the fasting period. well, maybe not. there's always dessert after breaking fast. heh heh heh.
are you thinking what i'm thinking?
that aside, i have this irritating running nose since morning after FFI medical checkup.
and its ever so irritating that i slept in the afternoon.
i'm just anxious for tomorrow when we'll get our unit posting. its either going to command school or Medic for me. other than that, i'm going to waste away my life for 2 years.
well, lets see. what am i going to do in life. (ever played the boardgame, Game Of Life?)
by the time i finish NS, i would be 22.
then perhaps do a degree. by that time i graduate, i would be 25.
at 25 years old, i'm like halfway to being old.
and talk about kick-starting a career at 25. sheesh. whatever can i do?
work and work and struggle for 2 years. go get married lah at 27 years old.
27 years old like so old man.
like that, so old to get children ah. cannot lah.
i have a company-mate who's got a family at the age of 19. shotgun marriage though. and he's got 2 kids! i wonder how he'd be supporting them. not to mention supporting a wife as well. with a monthly allowance; i repeat, allowance of $400 a month. i wonder.
well, in Singapore i believe, even a $3,000 is not even enough to support a family of 3.
things to pay include:

and why am i talking about this anyway? baaaaahhh. hmmm.
but honestly, i don't mind the expenses as long i can support my family. doesn't matter where or how, as long as i can provide them with a comfortable life.
and the best thing of all things is that.
strawberries rock my socks!!!!!! haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Life's Like That
POP LOH!!!!!
i'm no longer a Recruit or REC.
i'm a Private!!!!! a.k.a. 'trained soldier'.
parade rehearsals are the worst!!! and what more with fasting.
there were 3 rehearsals each lasting for a whole afternoon.
the first one was held last thursday.
the second one last Monday and the last one yesterday. they were killers!! i mean literally. the weather was super-duper hot!!! we were like, 'OMG, its so freaking hot!!! cannot stand it anymore lah!! break fast already lahhhh!!!'.
i did fast on the 2nd rehearsal. i nearly fainted. my face was crumpled up from dehydration and there was no sweat even though we were under the sweltering heat. to sum it all up, our skin got burnt black.
but!
it was worth it all!!!!! wahahah!! as we threw our jockey caps high into the air. photos will be up soon as i gather all of them up.
not to be speaking too soon. i'm already being called up back to Tekong for FFI.
FFI? Fit For Infantry. seriously.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
the worst bit is i have to report back at 7.30am in the morning.
no life seriously.

Graduation From BMTC School 1
quite an upsetting weekend.
firstly, we had to bookout on a Saturday considering its our last bookout from BMTC and from Tekong. with the Singapore Discovery Centre visit in the morning.
pppfftt.
i'm enjoying most of the days anyway. and with my DS Lite now playing Pokemon Diamond version. its battery had lasted me the whole week. my take; its definitely more fun to play than the Sony PSP.
so anyway, i'm having my Graduation Parade a.k.a Passing Out Parade (POP) on Wednesday, 19th September 2007. the time for the parade is at around 5pm. =)
i'm rather quite upset during the past week though. i havent been talking much.
so i guess i'm just looking forward to POP this week. and my platoon is organising a barbeque at East Coast next Friday.
on a final note, i would like to say.....
POP LOHHH!!!!!!

My New Girlfriend
somedays you will just have bad luck.
she's smooth, sweet and best of all she's sexy. heh heh heh.
some of us are not bad people, we only had bad luck.
Bad Luck #1
I was caught 'smuggling' a pudding back to bunk through an area inspection at night. i was made to stand in front of the whole company in the lecture hall. (nothing happened)
Bad Luck #2
My phone charger was caught through the same inspection. (+1 confinement)
Bad Luck #3
Before 'Recruit's Evening' event, everyone was made to wear civilian clothing during the event. those who didn't bring civilian wear had to wear admin attire. i didn't bring civilian attire or rather i forgot. which was fine. fine, fine until my Company Sergeant Major came along. he said, 'Those not wearing civilian attire, WILL NOT BOOKOUT THIS WEEKEND!!'.
we were like, "WHAT THE F*CK?!" *open-mouth*
it means we will not bookout this weekend. (+1 confinement)
but like i said, my Platoon Sergeant is the best. he's a very reasonable guy.
super bad luck week.
but anyways, i'm already out of camp. and its like 1 week and 3 days more to POP!!!!!!!!!
next week, we'll be having Live Grenade Throw. a re-IPPT. and basically that's it. we practically finished most of the major things that we're supposed to do. and after this week, i finally have abit of free time during the weekends.
oh and 1 more thing!
meet my new girlfriend.
she's smooth, sweet and best of all she's sexy. heh heh heh.
meet my Sony PSP. meet my Nintendo DS Lite.

Dawn Of Autumn
another short weekend for me this week.
nothing personal. but then again, i'm so tired.
but on a brighter note, this would be one of the last Saturday bookouts in BMT. from next week onwards, i would be booking out on Friday.
i went to Comex yesterday with Hanisah and her friend, Hidayah. she was looking for a laptop so i followed along. finally she settled for a Sony Vaio C which costs around $1,599. and i can't believe an NEC laptop is worth the same price with better specs!!! oh well.
my laptop needs to be serviced. apparently when i switched it on, it had crackle sounds and it just shuts down. i think the motherboard blew. damn. i might've guessed it needs servicing soon. now i'm using my youngest sister's laptop and even it can't connect to MSN that well. tsk (Compaq laptop).
aaaaaaahhhh. going to POP lohhhh!!! in 2 weeks and 5 days.
who wants to come to my graduation parade??!

Good Morning Sunshine Part II
its raining. and its oh so romantic.
i really didn't feel like getting up from bed today. the weather's so cool and with my laptop playing instrumentals, it doesn't help.
this week, i was a good boy and stayed at home most of the time. maybe next week i will go out and have some fun again. but where can i go eh? aaaahh.
its been raining most of the time again. guess the raining season has started. its been raining most of the time in Tekong. be it in the early morning or afternoon and evening. i would find myself staring out the window beyond the mist.
oh yes, i'm booking in at 2040 hrs this evening. upcoming activities this coming week is IPPT on Monday, 16km route march on Tuesday, SOC on Wednesday and Thursday and OC's evening on Friday. its going to be a busy week ahead. but guess what! its 3 more weeks to POP!!!! my whole family's going. =D

Sakura Hanabi Ice Cream
its not always the big things that you do matter the most.
in fact, its 80% of the small things you do gets noticed. eventually, these little things you do become even bigger things. i'm not generalising, its true.
one quote i came to know about from one of my commanders;
*quote*
you do little things,
these little things become your actions,
these actions become a habit,
the habit bestows your character,
your character ultimately shapes your attitude.
*end quote*
so do you end up changing your attitude?
for me to know, and you to find out. naturally.
so anyway, i'm just enjoying the last few hours in the civilian world. got to book in back to camp at 1300hrs. i so don't feel like going back. pffft. but its ok, got used to it. its called laziness.
yesterday i went to my auntie's place where all my relatives on my mum side had gathered. she organised my grandparent's death commemoration. well, kinda missed them especially my grandmother. she had seen me grow up since i was born till i reached secondary school. though now i really want her to see my Passing Out Parade out of BMTC as a soldier. its just...too bad.
aaahhhh. sigh.
so after that, i went to dinner with Cherry. kinda long time since i met her. went to Hanabi Restaurant. they had buffet and a-la carte so ended up eating buffet and plus we had a complimentary king prawn dish! i liked the restaurant's decor; i mean personally. if i told you i hadn't gained some weight, then i'm lying. went home by bus, like an hour bus ride from Bugis to Bedok. and she called me Drama King; reason being.... i like girls that are not-your-everyday- girl kind.
my take? bwahahahahahaha.
that means i'm not a MVP anymore lah!!!
now Drama King liao!
i think she should be..... Little Angry Girl. (Little Miss Angry anyone? cutesie name right?)
*FYI: MVP --> Male Chavaunist Pig. (duh!?)
guess its true. i get pretty bored of girls when they become really predictable.
ah, but you see. love is blind. lol.
my two cents worth.
well, i could've have written a longer entry but Tekong beckons me to come back to isolationism.

So Much Sacrifices
end of week 10 in Tekong.
and i'm pretty damn shagged. the training is....unbelievably, extremely tiring.
for example. my platoon sergeant. we fall in at 0545 hrs and we were 3 minutes late. he made us get in push-up position and there he was blabbering for 15 minutes. and i ended up eating breakfast with uncontrollable shivering hands.
then there was push-up position on hot parade square tiles!!! it was damn, bloody hot!!!!
it burned and cooked my flesh as far as im concerned and he made us do that for like 10 minutes just because the platoon was not up to his standard. and that was when we really cursed and swored, 'F**K!!!!, CHAO CHEE ***'
we recovered with so much burnt and peeled skin after that. as for my palm, well....it got screwed pretty bad but i'm okay now.
and for the lack of sleep. well, i'm pretty much agitated now. so i tend to get upset over the smallest of things. i've pretty much quiet the whole day today.
and whenever there's Admin time, it means sleep time! to catch up on some sleep while waiting for the next training to start. (usually we only have about anywhere between 30 minutes to about 1 hour.) i don't even have time to like talk on the phone. whenever i see my bed, i try my best not to lie down but i end up sleeping on the table instead.
the most crazy day we had this past week was the day of the 12km route march. the first 8km was nothing. the last 4km was just pure mental endurance while being physically exhausted.
do you know in the SAF, if you try to commit suicide and if you failed, you are liable to be charged for the offence. possibly a fine and/or a Detention Barracks term of maybe 7 years?
oh!! another thing, i got my recognition as Platoon Best Marksman yesterday night before we booked out. and the top 3 Marksmen in every platoon will book in on Monday, 1300hrs.
so happy!! but well, the frustrating thing was i was 1 point away from the Company Best Marksman which had 29 points!!! (my mistake for the predicted score of 30.)
wah!! i just sian there.
and you know what? i nearly tio confinement this week!!!! damn it.
wah lao eh. i'm abit afraid to make promises to go out on weekends man. later last minute got confinement or guard duty; si bei sian ahhh!!!!!! =(
and i'm going off to sleep already man. i'm just tired, i'm just so tired. extremely exhausted.

Happy National Day
Happy 42nd Birthday Singapore!!!
and thanks to you, i got 4 days off from camp.
as the saying goes, "Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you."
kinda bored today. didn't go anywhere, well.... except to the bank to settle some admin stuff on the ATM. is it me or is most of the people are wearing red today?! well in any case, its good to see most Singaporeans getting into the mood; because i'm wearing black!
but that's not the point.
so anyways, if most of you don't know, today is, Yoko's birthday too. (i doubt most of you don't.)
she's well, missing from some time now. hadn't heard from her since i enlisted. but nevertheless, i sent her a birthday e-card. (which i do every year. =))
oh and we got good weather today. that's great but actually i planned to do some jogging today too. but it didn't work out due to my extreme relaxing mood today. talk about losing weight at the wrong time. sheeesh!
maybe i ought to start thinking what i wanna do after NS.
take up SAF Scholarship?
further studies?
join the private sector workforce?
that's what i had in mind for now.
but right now, i'm aiming for something more ambitious....
it's a s-e-c-r-e-t

Why NS Still Rocks My World
here come the holidays!!!!
and its all thanks to National Day!!
today is my bookout day and i am so happy yah!
so anyway, i've gone through alot during the past days.
as of this week onwards, i've been given the honorary title of Platoon Best Marksman. i scored 28 shots out of 32. which means, i had missed 4 shots. i missed 2 in day-shoot and 2 in night-shoot.
though i'm not the Company Best Shot; he scored a blistering 30 out of 32 which is sickening!. i think its okay to be second best as long as i know i had put in my best effort.
but looking on the bright side, all the Platoon Marksmen get an extra day off. but sadly, there's no badges to wear or money incentives.
this morning at camp, there was this Observance Parade that we had to attend or rather take part in. my Company was the first to reach the parade square and it was darn friggin' hot and humid with the sun facing us. it ended about 2 hours later.
so anyway! i wonder what i'm going to do during my precious 4 days off. Friday is all booked for football with my platoon-mates. well, gotta call up some old friends soon.
watching movie is a nice pastime i guess. there's like tons of movies i missed. Transformers? The Simpsons? Fantastic 4?!
or there's the other alternative which is to literally rot with my PS3 at home. and i've come to realise how good it is to be staying at home. and also, i've bought a new PS3 game!!!! i bought Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Las Vegas. quite a nice game i think. i've been longing to play since i bought it last week.
life as a soldier is tough. but i will persevere! =)

More Jungle Training
bookout on a Saturday. just when i finished the SITEST.
basically, it is endearing 8km route march to the campsite. sounds like not far right?
trust me; it is heartpain with Full Battle Order.
we moved off in the morning at about 8am to Songyong Kong campsite which was situated further inland of Tekong. approximately 4km away from my Company line. we reached there at about 11.30am. just in time for lunch. but NO!.
SITEST personnel had to pitch up our basha tents within a 30-minute timeframe. i had a cut on my finger due to the extremely sharp blades of the grass. after which we had lunch. as we said goodbye to the non-SITEST personnel, we changed into our Long 4 uniforms and we began to be detailed into teams of 13 each. starting with Detail Alpha right up to Detail Mike.
i was in Detail Mike; the last detail.
i was tagged number 10 in my detail.
my assignment was to be a Claymore Mine Specialist.
Claymore mine is used for ambush which only snipers will find useful.
anyway, the first day of SITEST was the learning of knots and lashing which is to tie ropes.
personally, i'm not good with ropes. i hate climbing ropes much more to tie them! haha.
then it was admin time all the way till night.
Day 2.
the killer 4km route march early on 7am in the morning and that was just a warm-up. we were then assigned 1 assessor would be marking us for leadership qualities. we had 7 missions to complete.
now here's the fun part. not until the 3rd mission were we feeling so shag, exhausted and tired.
they really pushed us beyond our limits of physical and mental abilities. i can't tell you how much, we as a group, endured and persevered throughout. the worst part was carrying one of our own men on a stretcher 500 metres down to the next station.
there we were with our SBOs and rifles and helmets under the blistering hot Sun. literally, we drank 1 litre of water for each station because it was so hot!!! we finished off the day to record our timings for stripping and assembling of our rifles.
Day 3.
last day and the most 'jia lat' day.
i really don't know how i can describe the fatigue-ness. on 1 of the stations, i was Commander for a mission to protect a simulated radio station. i had instructed my demolitions team to set up C4 charges, claymore to ambush and LAW( Light Anti-Tank Weapon) for the incoming tank. we destroyed the tank but the assessor had a trick up his sleeve. he had shot one of our demolitions man and i was asked to retreat my team to a safe distance. the catch was the Medic's stretcher was spoilt. so....... we improvised using a groundsheet to carry the injured guy. i ordered 2 riflemen to provide cover fire as we retreated. we ran again for about 500 metres.
and that was the end of the mission.
SITEST was a fun and good experience. it is unlike any other training i had in BMTC. they tested our ability to think when we are under pressure, tested our physical strength the most. i'm glad i went all the way to the finish.
Officer Cadet School. here i come!!!
Infantry Officers Lead The Way!!!

anyway, the first day of SITEST was the learning of knots and lashing which is to tie ropes.
personally, i'm not good with ropes. i hate climbing ropes much more to tie them! haha.
then it was admin time all the way till night.
Day 2.
the killer 4km route march early on 7am in the morning and that was just a warm-up. we were then assigned 1 assessor would be marking us for leadership qualities. we had 7 missions to complete.
now here's the fun part. not until the 3rd mission were we feeling so shag, exhausted and tired.
they really pushed us beyond our limits of physical and mental abilities. i can't tell you how much, we as a group, endured and persevered throughout. the worst part was carrying one of our own men on a stretcher 500 metres down to the next station.
there we were with our SBOs and rifles and helmets under the blistering hot Sun. literally, we drank 1 litre of water for each station because it was so hot!!! we finished off the day to record our timings for stripping and assembling of our rifles.
Day 3.
last day and the most 'jia lat' day.
i really don't know how i can describe the fatigue-ness. on 1 of the stations, i was Commander for a mission to protect a simulated radio station. i had instructed my demolitions team to set up C4 charges, claymore to ambush and LAW( Light Anti-Tank Weapon) for the incoming tank. we destroyed the tank but the assessor had a trick up his sleeve. he had shot one of our demolitions man and i was asked to retreat my team to a safe distance. the catch was the Medic's stretcher was spoilt. so....... we improvised using a groundsheet to carry the injured guy. i ordered 2 riflemen to provide cover fire as we retreated. we ran again for about 500 metres.
and that was the end of the mission.
SITEST was a fun and good experience. it is unlike any other training i had in BMTC. they tested our ability to think when we are under pressure, tested our physical strength the most. i'm glad i went all the way to the finish.
Officer Cadet School. here i come!!!

Tired
bookout, bookout day!!
a hectic week it has been. tired and sick.
firstly the live range. i got 28 targets out of 32. which means i missed 4 targets. not bad a score i believe. it was the longest, most tiring day you can ever imagine. we had 2 rounds of firing; day and night shoot. day shoot was fine but waiting for nightfall was a killer. it was only at 100 metres and 50 metres at night.
and when we got back to Company line at 2230hrs, we had to clean our rifles!! =(
it lasted for 2 days. but our first day was only for zeroing our rifles and making it aligned with our eyes so we could shoot straight.
next was IPPT we had just now in the morning. not bad a timing lah for 2.4km run. 12 minutes plus. and i came in as the 12th guy in the whole platoon.
after IPPT, it rained literally till after lunch when we had our Circuit Training. it was conducted under the training shed as the field was like a mud swimming pool.
in total during that hour, we did about 120+ counts of jumping jacks, 80 counts of crunches, 80 counts of Buddha clap, 90+ counts of pushups, 40 counts of squat-bender, 40 counts of alternate leg thrusts, 20 counts of flutter kicks, 30 counts of heel-raise and in the end, in order to go back to our bunks, we had to do another 6 pull-ups.
it is mad i tell you. i've never experienced something as shagged as this. as if its not bad enough,
wait till you try CPT (Combat Physical Training). so far it was conducted only once.
i'm so tired now. i think i need to sleep more. arghhhh!!
i'm going out to see my buddies later for late night supper! hahahahahhh!!
P.S. its only at tampines interchange macdonalds.

Vanilla Only Please
back to camp in about 3 hours time.
let me show you a picture taken after the first 2 weeks of BMT.

note: not that much change in my opinion.
see my newly kiwi-ed boots which are damn new. now my boots are like stained with scratches and that well-worn look all thanks to field camp.
---
extracted from a song i vaguely know.
they say that in the army, the chio bu very chio.
i ask for Cinderella,
they give me Frankenstein!
they say that in the army, the sergeants very nice.
i ask them simple question,
they scold me chao chee by*!
---
well, i'm going to prepare all my stuff.
all the best to all of you. and to me.
i'm going to miss you lots. =(
roses are red,
violets are blue,
if i am dead,
i've died protecting you.
---
oh by the way, i woke up this morning and my neck ached like mad. wrong posture of sleeping. damn. now i'm not really confident of doing 'KE-KANAN LURUS!'. because i can't turn to the right.

Mid-July Cherries Dreams
i'm back home for the weekend!!
time to prepare for a lot of things for the upcoming two weeks.
first up, there's the BTP (Basic Trainfire Package) on next Tuesday and Wednesday. it'll be our live range shooting with the M16S1 rifle. take it as a markmanship benchmark. then on the following Thursday, there's IPPT (Individual Physical Proficiency Test) day.
the following next 2 weeks, i'll not book out again as i will have the SITEST or Situational Test for selection to go for command school, namely OCS or SISPEC. sian ahhhhhh. i have to go outfield again with a 8km route march with FBO (Full Battle Order) which weighs a staggering 20+kg! die ahhh. damn tough man. command school is not for the faint hearted.
namely, OCS will get me to a 2LT (2nd Lieutenant) rank while SISPEC will get me a 3SG (3rd Sergeant) rank. training for both of them is usually screwed up. but it'll help me put in command a small group of men.
ok so well anyway. the SITEST will be mission-like. there's some scenario that the sergeants will throw at us and we have a time limit to solve them. it'll be like adventure camp! but only this, they're keeping score. i have to at least score 80 points out of 100 to be selected for command school. aiyah, army stuff very sian wan.
last Thursday, was spent learning UO. simply put Urban Operations or FIBUA; Fighting In Built Up Areas. mean casualty rate for FIBUA is abt 70% which is very high compared to jungle warfare. we fired 5.56mm blanks with our rifles. the fun part was, i got to help out my sergeant become one of the bad guys firing at those taking the test after i finished mine!! easily i shot around 20 magazines of 25 rounds.
anyway, back to my sane social life in Singapore, today i went out with Hanisah to Marina Square to catch the latest Harry Potter movie; Order Of The Phoenix. i don't quite like the movie though. its like arranged in such a manner that its confusing. my opinion though. i'm not really a fan. after the movie, we had dinner at Secret Recipe then i had to let her go to Esplanade with her friends for some class outing to watch a King Lear play. i stayed around there for a while to witness the fireworks since there's the National Day Preview for the primary school students.
tomorrow i'm going out with Alice for some Ben & Jerry ice-cream!! i'm just scared to put on weight again since there'll be confinement this time around. oh, did i tell you i almost lost 10kg already!? damn BMT works for losing weight man.
i'm just tired. i want to sleep. good night.

We Do It Once, We Do It Good
mistakes are committed for a purpose. and 1 purpose only.
that is...
to learn from it. and not commit the same mistake again.
oh, some of you may have seen me online on the 18th of July 2007, Wednesday.
that's because i get to book out!!!!! wahahah.
i got to book out because i had my Traffic Police driving test.
and well, after nearly two months without practice, i failed. i expected it though.
i'm not frustrated. i'm just glad i got to learn something out of it. i got the Chief Tester by the way. he was very patient with me and i'm glad. =)
now i've to live with the dread of, "Eh you take 2nd test to pass ah?!".
some people..... will for sure ask me that.
and i'm not going to say a word.
Platoon 3 motto: We Do It Once, We Do It Good!
i'll update more when i get the weekend off.
ja mata!

Long & Tough Road
finally i'm back home again!
field camp was the longest 5 days and 4 nights of my life.
it was fun, tiring, tough, frustrating sometimes but memorable.
we had learnt jungle combat skills, cover and concealment by camouflaging our faces with camouflage cream, field signals; using hand signals, and individual camp crafts.
the first day, we built our basha tents; those cute, short little tents intended for outfield use. practically, first day was quite boring. in the afternoon, i was arrowed to set up the concertina wire which is similar to barbed wire. i got a few cuts on my uniform to show off too.
then when night came, i was arrowed again to do the 2am - 4am shift guard duty. screwed up man.
my duty was to prowl around the campsite looking for suspicious characters and to identify anyone we saw walking even the sergeants too. i was with another buddy of mine from Section 2.
so anyway, it was quite an experience afterall. but i don't recommend doing guard duty. its not fun anymore after doing it for more than once.
second day was more towards jungle combat and practicing our field signals and FCO (Fire Control Order).
on the third day, we had to dig our very own 'grave'. aptly named 'shellscript'.
it was about knee-length deep with about our body length plus a few feet for our field pack. the width was about slightly wider than our body. it was no easy task i'm telling you. literally we sweat the whole day digging. with our sweat dripping down while the sergeants walking around ensuring that our 'shellscripts' are dug.
from then on during the night, we slept in our 'graves' under the stars. and Tekong has a breathtaking view of the stars.
fourth day was practicing our FCO and practical tests.
fifth day is the most interesting. we went to the BIC (Battle Inoculation Course).
basically, they are firing 3 GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) 3 metres over our heads with live rounds while we crawl down on the sand under barbed wire. it was scary at first but our sergeants were very encouraging as far as i could tell.
that was the longest 100-metre crawl of my life. it was really tiring. really. i nearly wanted to give up and stand but my buddy kept encouraging me to go forward. at the end, we're supposed to go up from a trench and charge up to the enemy. the corporal challenged me by saying, "Are you a soldier!??!!??!". i shouted back, "Yes corporal!!!! YAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!".
haha. damn funny.
so today, as a reward of completing field camp, my Company got to bookout at 2pm! hohoho!
and!
i'm not sure whether its good or better news.
i got selected to attend Command School. which would be either SISPEC (School of Infantry Specialist) or OCS (Officer Cadet School).
obviously, i'm going for OCS!! but the irritating thing is that i have to attend another field camp specially for selected recruits. damn. there goes another weekend.
and if i got into OCS, maybe... just maybe i may want to sign-on.
maybe.
well anyway, i just want to continue my studies. SAF do offer good scholarships though.
