Wet, Fun Day

today was the whole Unit of 6AMB's cohesion games.

i just came back. tired but... FUN!
this morning's event was at Queensway Swimming Complex.
uuuuuuu. very far from Tampines yes i know. i didn't expect the MRT to be JAMMED-PACKED. i was literally standing with my arms facing the door. and people still wanted to move in!! i had to endure from Bedok till Queenstown. stupid train, i'm going to avoid taking the train already. boycott!! haha.

i paid a $4 taxi ride which was less than 500m. i didn't see where the swimming pool was, so i hailed a cab and since i was late, i told the uncle to just get me there. $4 wasted but i arrived on time.

we were divided into our own divisions, HQ, 61FMD, 62FMD and 63FMD. i'm from HQ! =)
so yah, first game was the officer's game. they swam 2 laps at the 1.2m pool to start off the games. HQ was represented by our CO, S3, and our female officer, S4. it was a no-brainer because it was just for fun!

we were then supposed to dress up the game masters for every division. again, it was a no-brainer. it was just purely for fun.

after which, we're supposed to collect some rubber ducks and balls thrown in the pool to the game masters holding a bucket. ummm, i really question the motive of the game though.

then the games started. first up, 20 people were needed. many of them jumped in and darned it, they still needed 6 people. so i jumped in. "Don't care la, don't care!"

there were like 80 people in the pool! can you imagine the havoc-ness. they gave us an inflatable toy, kinda like inflatable sharks. one man needed to climb on top of the inflatable while one man pulled the inflatable across to the other side. we had to get all of our team to the other side. we did it first! but was forfeited 1 man. and we ended up second. bahhhhhhhh.

NEXT GAME!!! i got 'arrow' by CO....at the back somemore. i was merrily standing in the water my back facing him. he tapped me on my shoulder and said, "OK, we got 11 man already."

wah, "xia suay". or is it how its spelt.

so i participated in the next event. we were given 10 chairs and we got 11 men. all 11 men had to get across the pool using the chairs and back again using only 9 chairs!! it was more difficult than we thought actually....because it was tough!! my legs felt sore and numb from the obvious squatting and standing to maintain balance while the rest of the 100+ people bombasted us with pails of water, the rubber ducks, the rubber balls and splashing water. if any of the men fell out of the chairs, they're disqualified. HQ was the last to complete apparently because of miscommunication at the end of the pool.

gwahhahahaha.

and the final event. the most serious event of the day. WATER POLO down in the diving pool. 4.5 metre deep pool. gwahahhaha. why am i laughing?

it was a while since i swam so i decided, well, maybe i don't want to volunteer myself and sit it out because only 5 players are needed and since HQ had 30+ people. surely there has to be 5 people who wanted to play and i don't know balls about water polo rules. (pardon the pun)

but guess what. i had thought wrong. this time, it wasn't CO who 'arrow' me. it was our lovely BSM. Battalion Sergeant Major, Sir. apparently, i was at the wrong place, at the wrong time, again.

he was talking to CSM i think, and they were discussing who could and can play water polo. chat, chat, chat and BSM turned around and said, "Ahh, Zaini, Zaini. Zaini can swim right? OK, go and play water polo."

i said, "Ahh. yes? yes...?" i didn't say "YES, I COULD PLAY" but rather "YES, WHAT'S UP?" that kind of thing.

waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh...... waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
"TIO OWN-ED"
he hit the nail on my head. *toink*

as i had said, i know nuts about water polo. and i asked around to ask if someone could replace me. but nooooooooo. nooooooooo. nobody wanted.

wah, "xia suay". again.

HQ people were cheering us on saying things like, "GO SAFSA!! NATIONAL PLAYERS!!!! MAKE US PROUD!!!!".

SAFSA = SAF Sports Association

and it was HQ vs 61FMD!

one times shagged out. i can't swim as fast because of the life jackets they made us wear. but HQ won with the skill of 3SG Alex. he is a water polo player since Sec 1. he scored. 1 - 0.
it was a 5-minute affair but it felt like 5 hours in the pool. super tiring.

we got into the Finals when 63FMD lost the match.

and again, they said to HQ players, "SAFSA EHHH!! SAFSA PLAYERS!!! WOOOO!!!"

i was feeling super super tired. we had to swim fast. there was heavy drag with the life vests on. the last 2 minutes, Amer called to me to substitute me. changed the life vests in the pool. i went out of the pool panting like mad. my face had turned red. Khairul was already playing defensive. i told him to move up, he was tired. our dear BSM was also playing goalie and he had shouted to Khairul about defense. it is tiring believe me.

and with that, HQ won water polo!! congrats congrats!! =)
BSM and CSM went over to us to congratulate. nice game.

for the prize of the water polo match, we got a big bag of goodies. alot of snacks, plus a few bottles of Adidas frangrances. i managed to get 1 before the rest 'stunned' the bag. =D

and i'm feeling so exhausted. so drained that i don't feel like going for the dinner in the evening at Yio Chu Kang Grassroots Shark Fin Restaurant. its our Unit's 30th Anniversary. its older than i am. haha!

i'm still thinking what to wear this evening. theme is, "Be Original, Be Creative."
what does that mean exactly? i have no idea.

i'm going to bathe again now. 1 x shag day.

Hot, Fun Day

i could've swore today was a super aching day. it was really unexpected.

i didn't feel like waking up. i set my alarm at 5am and i woke up at 5.45am. i dragged myself out of bed, stumbled to the bathroom and.. i coughed. my abs hurt like hell!!! my arms had no strength and i walked painstakingly.

then, HAAA CHOOOO! my abs felt like exploding.

stupid results, i failed overall IPPT. my running dropped to 12:05 minutes! that's like OMG lah can.

how to sign on Infantry.?

today, was quite a fun day actually. very funny day.

there's this new guy attached to us. and he likes to sleep. alot. for some reason. Sharil (a.k.a Cheryl if you pronounce his name with a slang), decided to play a trick on him. he found the guy sleeping in the bunk behind, Sharil quietly crept up to him, shook him hard and whispered,

"Hoi!! Turnout eh...turnout...turnout!!"

the guy had his glasses in his hands which were on top of his chest, kinda like mummy-like style. he opened his eyes, quickly putting on his glasses and flailing his arms and shouting,

"HUH!? WHAT?! TURNOUT!?! TURNOUT!??!"

Sharil roared with laughter. his expression, priceless.

FYI, the command "Turnout" is to activate the camp guards to arms to deal with any hostile situation that may arise at any time. its to maintain our combat readiness. usually the command is done at night when we, the Regimental Police, aren't around to supervise. its usually activated by the Guard Commander or Duty Officer to 'turn-out' the guards.

and today, for God knows why, the buses were packed with people. maybe it just wasn't my day, i stood in the bus! i was so pissed by the time i got to the interchange that i walked home.

but, damn, what a day!! =)

IPPT, Lagi Worse

i'm taking my IPPT tomorrow. that is, Individual Physical Proficiency Test.

divided into 5 stations.

1) Sit-up
2) Chin-up
3) 4x10m Shuttle Run
4) Standing Broad Jump
5) 2.4km Run

my only worries are chin-up and standing broad jump. i can't seem to jump. i can't jump!
i got full points for shuttle run and sit-ups. my 2.4km timing is around 11.00 minutes, which by the way, is not good enough though its already silver timing!!!! =(

i've made up my mind, i am going to sign-on National Service. my only choice is either Infantry or Senior Police Officer. possible worst is Combat Service Command. like what the Regulars always say, its all about the money. and for my future family. =)

We Are Soldiers

last Thursday, was my National Education tour. me and Sharil were 'selected' and among the 40 people (actually not selected, got 'arrowed') to go on the tour.

we got half day off from camp just to go on that tour.

ok ok. first we went to the NEWater plant at Bedok. not to be proud or anything, but "Hello!, its my third time here!" but it was an interesting insight. just to refresh my memomy on what i had learnt on Water Technology back when i was in Year 2 in polytechnic.
it was a lengthy tour, the tour guide for the NEWater plant was like talking super fast but i somehow managed to grasp what she was saying. *toink*
and we got free water. NEWater.

after the NEWater tour, the NE tour guide was like, "Ok, next we'll go Changi Museum and Chapel."

i've never been there! haha. it was interesting there, there's lots of information that they don't teach you in the textbooks so i was mightily impressed of what they had there. and by the way, no photography is allowed in the museum. oh, and they had this sword which some Japanese General carried of which he surrendered to the Canadian General during the Second World War. the sword is almost 550 years old. the books they had for sale there i think were not sold elsewhere too. i did study pure history back in secondary school but the museum was just exciting.

after the museum, the 2nd last stop was the Johore Battery near Changi Park. it was inside the prison and it was just a replica. well, i've always wondered why they named it Johore Battery in the first place. the tour guide told us because when they were constructing the artillery battery, the Sultan of Johor had donated some money to help construct it. they decided to name the gunsite Johore Battery.
it had like a 30km range and do you have any idea how far that was? aimed north, it could reach past Woodlands and into Malaysia!!!
but it was a replica. but it was a big-ass gun. its bigger than the 155mm howitzer artillery gun the SAF is using. it was a 15-inch gun. the diameter of the bore is 15-inch.

the last stop was Changi Beach itself. though i'm not quite sure why we were there in the first place. there were some talking. talk and talk and talk and talk.
i was looking out to sea and saw.... Pulau Tekong!
man, i missed that 'chalet resort'. it was the most fun time of my NS time. unit life is so boring, so routine. hah!. and i used to complain when in Tekong.

I, Rank/Name, will protect Singapore, WITH MY LIFE!
good not-so-old days.

this March, i'll be a 8-month old soldier. life's best when you face adversity with comrades. when we go through it together, its like a bond that will never break. that is comradeship tried and tested.

"As a Commander, you, will be a role model to your men under your command. They look up to you for guidance. It is hard for you to command them as soldiers, but it is easy for you to respect them as soldiers. Because of this respect, they will be good soldiers, and you, a good Commander."

Smiling Sunshine

a nice 1999 song i heard on the radio i heard on the way up in the multi-storey carpark. and i waited till the song had finished before i switched off the engine.

"Sunshine" by Gabrielle

Made a wish, I can dream
I can be what I want to be
Not afraid to live life
And fulfil my fantasies

I learnt a lot of tricks to help me live my life
You helped me find my paradise
When you came, you were like

Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel
I'm on top of the world
Telling me I'll go far

Reaching out, for new heights
You inspired me to try
Felt the magic inside
And I felt that I could fly
I'm looking at the world in an optimistic light
You made me appreciate my life
'Cos when you came you were like

Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel like
I'm on top of the world
Telling me I'll go far

You are the calm
I am the storm
You are the breeze that carries me on
When I set adrift
You anchor me
You're there for me

Sunshine (oh yeah)
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel I'm on top of the world
Telling me that I'll go far
Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star

(Sunshine)
Making me feel I'm on top of the world
Telling me that I'll go far
Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel I'm on top of the world
Telling me that I'll go far
Sunshine
My star, my star..

I Drank Cherries For Dinner!!

today was 6 AMB HQ cohesion day!! we went to Pasir Ris Farmway to catch some prawns. its a prawn pond so it was a little bit easier to catch. or so i thought.

even though i had my camera phone, i FORGOT to take pictures. i was like OMG. i caught 1 small prawn and 1 big prawn, those lobster kind but not really lobster. the small prawns were like so difficult to catch. everytime it bites the bait, and we pull the rod, it just slips away!! until most of them gave up and went to catch the big ones; the saltwater prawns. these prawns are smart prawns that go Universities can!? they're so smart that they ate the bait without hooking their mouths!

but it was my first time prawning. i usually go fishing. same concept, the key is to wait. and wait. wait long long. wait long long also never come until to the point, my buddy said, "Aiyah, you hold the rod la, i have no patience for this. bahhhh....."

so then! after prawning until 11.50am, they went to barbeque the live seafood ALIVE. yes alive. the prawns were like flicking around until they were eventually grilled by the fire. i have to admit that was the first time for me.

at about 12.10pm, Poon Yan and me went off while the others stayed. we went to the Singapore Airshow 2008 at Changi Exhibition Centre. i drove my Subaru Impreza 1.6L TS to CEC. as luck would have it, i have to pay $50 for parking! i'm not joking $50!! extreme extortion. but i didn't park there lahh. waste money for what? =P

i sped down the highway to Singapore Expo which was a 10 minute drive away. took a cab because the shuttle from Expo costs $5 per person. the cab fare was $9.60. went in and registered our names and they printed name tags for us. and when we got in, there were planes doing some air stunts.

1 word. SHIOK AH!

the roar of the jet engine was just so........shiok. i like the one where the RSAF Black Knights did the heart shape and the arrow across the centre. i like it!!~~ だいすき です!!!

after the air show, we walked around the pavilions. SAS 2008 is like Comex for aviation except there's no, "Sir, would you like to buy an aircraft?"

i'll say, "siao ah you! where got people buy aeroplane like buy laptops one!?"
they got the pictures and specifications and you'll go, "WOOOO, WUUUU, WAAAA". but they'll never put the price tag. anybody wanna know why? because they're worth millions!!!

and its not like a car autoshow, where you can ask, "What colour does it come with?, Can i change to sports rims? Does it have automatic climate control? Does it have cruise control?"

Cruise control? got lah, 890 km/h.

they'll just tell you what it comes with. and full stop. wanna add features? add a few more hundred thousand dollars. anybody wanna know why? because i asked during the last airshow back in 2006. a Bombardier Global Express XRS costs a cool US$55 million. imagine spending that money for your sweetheart for Valentine's day.

you could go around the Singapore Flyer for 6200 times!!!!! hah, beat that!! but who cares about the Singapore Flyer when you get a private jet for Valentine's Day. or better still on the birthday.

after touring around and TAKING PICTURES like sua ku, never see aircraft before. me and Poon Yan felt out of place because we were wearing super casual, polo t, jeans and sneakers while most if not all of them were wearing coats and smart uniform.

and we went back for $5 back to Expo. stupid carpark costs $5.35. on the way home after sending Poon Yan, he never ride his bike, i was like still super hungry. i stopped by a coffeeshop, and guess what they had?!! Cherry Juice!! hahahahhahahhah. *toink*

and i sped home all the way. one thing i don't really like about this car, its too low for me, stiff suspension and alot of road noise. its acceleration is a no-loser, Subaru Impreza has one of the fastest acceleration for factory-tuned cars. but its sporty. i like! but i didn't dared to go beyond 120km/h. the steering was a tad to heavy. its as though the wheels aren't turning and that's scary when speeding around bends. it didn't have Power Assist Steering perhaps?

however bad that was, its grip on the road was like super glue. the car didn't fly off when i cornered at 80km/h. that....., was scary when you have really inconsiderate taxi drivers speeding down the opposite road.

oh i almost forgot, this car is too powerful for slow moving traffic. the car was practically jerking and i couldn't do anything about it but it can sure run when i want it to. i swerved 4 lanes just to irritate the hell out of the lorry drivers.

VROOM, VROOM, VROOOOM........ VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOmmmmmMMMMmmmm!!!!

Japanese Lesson 1

i'm so exhausted i can knock the socks out of my feet. okay, it doesn't make sense does it?

Manchester United thrashed Arsenal 4-0 lah can!? i'm a big Arsenal fan ok!! what a score!! OMG. i dislike Liverpool for some reason. i don't like Manchester United. i don't really watch football nowadays. no mood. i just keep tabs with the score from EPL and Spanish Primera Liga.

yesterday, i was talking to Yoko. she's in Mexico for some exchange programme. she's very funny la, her reply always so cute. conversed in Japanese with her.

something like,

Me: Watashi wa ichigo daisuki.
Her: Ii desu ne.
Me: Watashi ichigo ga tabetai. isshoni ichigo tabemashouka.
Her: Hai!
Me: Demo, ichigo ga nai.
Her: Hahahahahaha.
Me: Koko ni ichigo wa takai desu yo. hontou ni takai.
Her: Iya desu. ichigo kaimashou?
Me: Ichigo tabekunai! anata ga tabetai!! *aghhh aghhh aghhh*
Her: Shut up!! =P
---

she's so cute can. i asked her to visit Singapore sometime. no, i'm not trying to hit on her. lol. she's just too nice.

tomorrow is my half day!! i'm so happy.

A Chill Pill A Day, Keeps The Stress Away

ahh, the weekends. i could almost smell it. its the time when we relax and... chill.

a few tips to relax.

1) exercising. contrary to what people always say. if sleeping helps you to relax your body, exercising helps to relax your mind. alternatively, having a dip in the swimming pool helps drown your sorrows away.

2) eating. but not excessively of course. fruits do help. especially bananas. want a wholesome fruit? blueberries. i'm talking about fresh fruit here. blueberries are the best. (do remember i worked in hotel line before)

3) read a novel in a quiet environment. the classic example of spending time with yourself. these days, we are so often busy with others that we simply do not spend time alone. its good to have some time alone, away from the computer, telephone. this is what i call the standard a-la-solitude.

4) speed. (only for adrenaline junkies like me. honestly, i don't think it helps to relax.)

5) sending 'sweet nothings' messages. (oh i love this one. to a girl of course.)
---

i hope it helps.
back to work tomorrow.
i'm taking half day off on Tuesday.
i'm going to the Singapore Air Show 2008 on Wednesday with Anujot.
i'm going for an NE Tour on Thursday. (NS also got NE Tours ah? wth.?)

and i got a car!!!!! Mazda 3 babe. time for that elusive 180km/h drive.

cheerios.

Tired-ness

i seem to be very very agitated these few days. i'm not really sure what's wrong. maybe its the weather? or maybe i have lack of sleep?

this evening, i was like so pissed at something. i'm not sure what. maybe i was tired. its such a shame. the day got off to a bad start anyway.

i forgot to bring my beret, and i didn't have my brown shirt i usually wear. and i went into camp without my head dress. i was really really agitated. ie to say, i am ever so ready to give a really good whack at the punching bag.

what i need...is speed. when i get a car, is to speed to 180km/h. i don't care if i'm going to blow the pistons off. i love speed. i love it. i live for it.

but, there's a difference between cockiness and being confident. afterall, a greedy person is a poor person at the end.

every morning in the bus to work, i've started reading back the religious books i was given when i had religious classes.

i'm so physically and mentally tired. i need some rest. yes. some rest would be good. i need a good, long rest. i am tired, but does anyone know? i just happily put a smiling face and happily chat online. man, it sucks to be at the bottom of the wheel. but sometimes i tell myself, if i don't pick myself up, who will? life's a lesson, we learn from it all the time.

anyway, for the floorplan i did earlier this week, my BSM was utterly impressed!!
he said, "Good job Ruzaini". its really comforting to feel that my hard work is appreciated. of course, a sincere work doesn't require any form of return.

CSM says, "I know you're good, you're too good. Please, take care of yourself."
what's that supposed to mean?

the day i escorted the guy from his house to detention barracks, his mother was screaming, wailing for her son back. but it is our duty to obey and uphold the rules. without us, rules cannot exist. and without rules, we cannot exist. no mother wants her son to be taken forcefully and be sent to jail. performing our duties, we are expected to rid of our fear, anxiety, sense of pity, hatred. we are to be just but firm in our actions. but we are not machines, we too have feelings and it cannot interfere with our duties.

my arms were trembling while escorting him back to the holding vehicle. down the block lift. it was my first time to actually really handcuff a detainee's hands. everyone around the blocks were curiously looking. too much attention i thought. we might just end up in YouTube or New Paper.

Not So Happy Valentine's Day

to tell you realistically and honestly, i'm very very tired. i'm exhausted.

let me tell you my ordeal this week.

Monday: morning run, sentry duty, did floorplan till 1am+. slept for 4 hours.

Tuesday: sentry duty, stayed up till 12am. slept for 5 hours.

Wednesday: morning run. was doing escort duty for a detainee to Detention Barracks. reached home at 11pm+. slept for 8 hours because had to report to camp by 10am.

Thursday: super slow day. i cannot take it already. i need to sleep. so no Valentine's Day. i already planned since yesterday night. so i'm sleeping at 9pm because tomorrow morning got 3.2km run. MUST SLEEP ah.

i'm having a bad headache as it is. i don't think its migraine. because i don't have migraine!
i think its the lack of sleep. my body's aching like mad from yesterday's episode of 90+ pushups.
my muscles are screaming mad when i flex my arms and legs.

ahh, i need sleep! enduring till tomorrow and i can chill out during the weekends.
oyasumi!!!!

No Title...

i escorted a guy to SAF Detention Barracks (SAF DB) yesterday night. i'll write more when i come home later in the evening.

Happy Valentine's Day. =)

I Love Architecture

time to take a breather. i've been on the computer for 4 hours straight.

and finally!! i've finished the floorplan! am i good or what eh? tell me who in this world can finish at 350+ sq ft floorplan in 4 hours!? tell me tell me tell me!! beat that, beat that, beat that!!!!!! haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its so mentally taxing. my mind already went kabonkers with the influx of caffeine injection.

it all started at this morning's run. my camp's beloved Battalion Sergeant Major, called me over.

BSM: "Ruzaini, come here, come here."
Me: "Yes Sir?"
BSM: "About the floorplan, i told you to give me by end of this week right?"
Me: "Yes Sir."

BSM: "Alamak, Thursday I'm busy. Wednesday i half-day. Can you give me the floorplan by tomorrow?"
Me: *jaw dropped and having a OH-NO-I'M-GOING-TO-NOT-HAVE-A-PEACEFUL-SLEEP-TONIGHT face* I can try la Sir."
BSM: "Okay lah, can lah. just let me know tomorrow."
---

drink coffee not enough, must inject. and i have like less than 5 hours of sleep. leow lahh.
but i already finished it!!! i can't freaking believe it.
i'm Chief Architect already lah. can take architecture course already.

osiuhowprthjopwj4t342qj0r92jpfioj 209r0293irpir-0392qirpoaep werpokapokf

hahahhhhh........ it feels good to just jam on the keyboard once in a while. on a $129 keyboard at that.

the time is 12:45am and i have not bathed. unbelievable. and i have to wake up at 5am. i'm going to be one super tired soldier tomorrow. its not the first time ya know. i'm just sick and tired of doing anything tomorrow. i'm going to slacken later.

sickening people. my mind's like in a daze right now. i'll tell you what, i'm so like going to sleep now. and wake up at 6am!! HAH! HAHHHHH! HAAAAAH! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!.

no one reads this crap anyway. i might just one day delete this blog. and stop blogging. but but but but. ok la. i'm not. haha. i'm just very mentally tired. how would you like to stand outside in the sun everyday for 4 freaking hours. i got my lower arms burnt. an ugly sunburn.

finish work at 6.30pm after flag lowering and guards mounting. take a 45-minute bus ride home. only to discover i only have like 2 hours to go online, maybe watch tv, play some games before i have to sleep at 10pm or latest by 11pm. and although i might be able to go home everyday, have an office hour job, its not much fun when you find out you're going to work tomorrow doing the same thing over. and over. and over again.

i'll consider an office job as a blessing already. so don't complain. you don't like office work? fine. go and do manual labour then. can you just know how much those people want an office job?

some people complain. i'm stressed. i'm stressed. how do you define stress? when you got loads of work to do and so little time to complete them? stereotypical.
in the first place, if you enjoy doing a certain job, you'll not consider it stress, rather, take it at least you have a job to do that you really like.

some people are just too dumb that they can't think with their brains upright. they simply can't use common sense. if you are already 21 years old. then THINK like a 21 year old should. don't go around bullshitting and trying to act as if you're retarded. always bitching about this and that. if its your responsibility, then take the consequences for it!! damn outright spastic.

I SIMPLY HATE people who just couldn't care less about their own good. there's no point in telling them mistakes if they're not willing to listen. the best solution is to just let them learn through their mistakes. i couldn't care less about such people.

YES, NOW I'M BLOWING MY TOP. for some reason. goddammit, i need a hug.

FYI, i always put my title last after i typed my post. is it just me or is the whole world doing it that way?

Happy Lunar New Year

Happy Lunar New Year to all!! =)

and while people are celebrating away, i was doing guard duty on Chinese New Year eve. i only slept for 2 hours that is from 11pm to 1am. it was super tiring. it was all in service of my country. we were doing a quiet deed while the rest of the people switched off.

and doing patrolling throughout the dead night is so much scarier. my balls were somehow stuck down there though. it was all good though.

and i was talking to the Guard Commander, his wife is a Malaysian chinese. we talked about food and Malaysian culture and stuff. he was a good guy. lucky to get a wife that could cook! i'll be lucky if i could just get a girlfriend that could cook. for a wife, maybe i'll be abit more cautious.

then, there was the turnout drill. TURNOUT! TURNOUT! TURNOUT! TURNOUT! TURNOUT!

apparently, all of our shouting were not good enough and the BOS was like, "YOU ALL ARE NOT LOUD ENOUGH. IT SHOULD BE, TURNNNOUUUT!!! TURNNOUUT!!!" as it echoes down the night away.

and he overpowered us all.

You Know I'll Be There

we, soldiers are taken for granted, often thought as a nuisance, but we are the reason why Singapore has freedom.

in peace times, naturally, we do not think of the ones who are keeping the peace. why and how it happens and who keeps it that way. we are the driving force behind that peace. we are the ones why Singapore sleeps safe and sound. why people look forward to coming home to their families after a hard and long day's work.

when you were told you were to work overtime and come home late that day, a soldier is told he could see his family only on weekends.

when you tuck into bed at night and find the softest spot in your bed, a soldier is told about a mission exercise late into the night and preparing for work tomorrow.

when you complain about the food that you are having for lunch, a soldier is told that an enemy holds for no lunch break, he is to persevere on without lunch.

Speed Lah... Speed Summore!

good morning!!

i read the news yesterday, in the US, 5 teens aged 18-20 died because they wanted to see how fast a car can go. the car? a BMW M5. they snuck into a private airfield which was 2.4km long. bad move. all 5 of them died when the car ran out of runway to speed, it flew 200 feet into the air before smashing head on into a tree. the force hitting the tree was so severe, it split the car into 2 halves. it was mangled beyond the recognition of a car.

the tyre and the exhaust pipe was way beyond out of place. it doesn't look an M5 to me.

FYI, the BMW E60 M5 could go up to 330km/h, with a 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds. it had the power of 500 horses beneath its hood. 500 brake horsepower; the car has a V10 5.0 litre engine.

i'm really thankful i don't have that kind of car at this age. if not, i would not be here already. i would be racing somewhere else!!! DUH!

have you any idea how thrilling it is just to go 250km/h on Singapore's expressways??

it was a case of having a good time at the wrong place, at the wrong time. the kid could've not seen the end coming but by the time he saw it, it was already too late.

i have to admit, i'm actually becoming a speed demon. i could not stand travelling at 90km/h. its just too slow but for the safety of my passengers, i control myself. its quite easy to lose track of speed when there's a near empty road lying in front. i do sometimes feel sleepy driving alone sometimes; driving at 90km/h at that!

speeding is the number 1 killer worldwide eh? what i think? speeding, no. speeding insanely, YES. tio bo?

Promises...

its February 2008 already. how time flies.

i'm not really sure what to say. just that i've been thinking about my late grandmother. she would've been so.....happy if she could see me now.

she was the one who took care of me since when i was still an infant. my world grew around her right through secondary 3. its been what... 15 years.
when i was little, i had promised her alot of things when i grew up. i promised her that she would one day fly in the aeroplane i was piloting.
then i said, "When you die, I would visit everyday, I promise..."
and she would just smile.

she was one person i would could've sworn to protect.
she lived through the last hours of her life through life support.
i was disheartened to see her fighting for her breaths.

back then, i was that rebellious Anakin Skywalker.
"I'm not powerful enough. One day, I will be powerful; so powerful I could even stop death."

i read somewhere which read, "I am the Alpha, I am the Omega."
"I am the beginning, I am the end."

to my late grandma, "I love you, always."
Love,
Your Great-Grandson, MD RUZAINI.
