I almost couldn't recognise her because she's lost like quite alot of weight since she went to Sweden! She called me in the morning to say that she had landed and had went out of the transit area and waiting at the arrival hall.
I was supposed to meet her at 10am and thought I could sleep longer than my 5am routine.So we went to the car lot and maybe I thought maybe we could go eat breakfast but oh!
The wonders of a long-haul flight, you'll have jet lag. So she asked me, "Can I come over to your place to rest a while?"
And I thought, well okay, since maybe she just wanted to sit down and relax till she's all good. I called my Mum and told her I was coming back home with a friend and I didn't say who. Neither did I know what she meant by 'resting'. honestly.
When we did finally reach my house, she introduced herself to my Mum and my sisters. wah seh, like want to get married that kind but she's the open-minded type, thankfully.
"Hello, I'm Saori, nice to meet you~"
and I'm like, "MY SISTERS ARE SHY." hahahaha. =P
to tell you honestly, only a few of my friends have been to my room, much less sleep in it!
I really didn't expect she would ask me.....,
"Zaini, could I sleep in your room for a while?"
*sweat*
a boy's room will always be messy but I took the effort to actually clean it a few days ago so I'm pretty much saved.
and yes, she slept in my room for about a few hours. she looked so awfully tired when i met her at the airport; at least she felt better after sleeping..
my Mum asked me, "Where is she from? She's from Thailand?"and I said, "No, she's Japanese."
Funny how I couldn't get a Singaporean girl home but managed to get a Japanese girl instead.
I took her to walk around Vivocity. She's a really interesting person, the thing I like about Japanese people is they are not afraid to express their feelings. Everytime she's sees something cute, she'll go like, "Ahh!! Zaini, mitteru, kawaii ne!!!~"
I think she's cute. haha. =)
and the sales people will give us a quizzical look and I'll save her by replying, "Oh, don't mind, we're just browsing."
She admitted that she's attracted to things that are shiny. Which explains why we end spending about 20 minutes at shops selling earrings. She's OBSESSED with earrings. haha.
She: What do you think? Is it nice?
Me: Ummm..... nice nice. it looks good on you.
She: Really? But which one should I choose? Which one is nicer?
Me: Buying both would solve that problem. =D
Sometimes, we go to shops and the sales people will be asking her instead of me. I wonder why. Is it because women have more influence on her man's spending power?
And they'll ask her in Chinese and Saori will just nod her head and will turn to me and give me the confused look. cutie~ =)
After taking our lunch at Food Republic, we walked around Vivocity and decided to go Sentosa too; by taking the cable car. It's my second time, and.... I'm still scared of it. I'm not afraid of heights, I'm afraid that the cable car might become stuck in the middle and the cable car would drop. LOL.
I watch too much cartoons lah!
When we reached Sentosa, we went to Siloso Beach to take a stroll by the beach and eating Ben & Jerry's ice cream cones while the sun was setting and the cool breeze.
*Cheh, so romantic right?* =P
And she told me, "Singaporean boys and girls mix well together unlike in Japan where there are no gender mixing socially in school or outside."
Interesting note.
After that, we went to see the "big, big Merlion" as she had described it. Ever since she touched down at the airport, she kept saying, "I wanna see the Merlion, I wanna see it!! Can we go and see it?!" I complied of course!
We got along pretty well. I took her to Bugis Street Market to shop for souvenirs and to eat Thai food at Siam Kitchen. After all the shopping, I had to send her back to the airport for her 11pm check-in.
In the car at the airport carpark, she gave me some stuff for me and my sisters that she brought from Japan. She wrote me a postcard with a map of Japan on the back and she gave me a Lego keychain which was pretty cute.
At the gate, we hugged.....for two minutes or so. it was such a long time since I hugged someone that long and her head just barely reaching above my shoulders. In that spur-of-the-moment, I whispered to her ear, "I promise to visit you in Japan when I finish my military service next year."
OK, fine, since I'm going alone anyway. She would be in Osaka by then too. Or maybe her hometown in Fukuoka.
It was a nice day afterall.
