Helen, The Baby Fox

sometimes...., even heroes need a saviour.

and i find myself asking you, 'Beautiful girl, will you be my inspiration?'.
(lyrics from Ordinary Day by Dolores O'riordan)

i recently bought a new Blu-ray movie, Enemy of The State. also, i bought the DVD of the Japanese movie, Helen the Baby Fox. bought both discs from Heeren HMV when i was in town recently and had my wallet reduced by $86.

it's a story about a little boy, named Taichi who moved to his mother's boyfriend's house in Hokkaido. he found and cared for a fox pup during the summer which was blind and deaf.

the fox pup is so adorable can?
Kogitsune Helen.
nihongo de 子ぎつね ヘレン。

i just got info from Nami that 'kogitsune' is baby fox.
'kitsune' on the other hand, is an adult fox.

she's an adorable girl, Nami.
always laughing when chatting with me.

as for the Blu-ray movie. perfect picture quality as expected. now i don't think i want to watch DVDs anymore. Blu-ray quality is tonnes better than DVD!! you really have to see it to believe it. for starters, i was once not a Sony fan, but now, i think Sony rocks my world!! totally.

i went to Tampines Interchange to look for second-hand handphones particularly Nokia's 8310 and 8850. its for my NS days in camp where cameraphones are not allowed.

for a Nokia 8310 which is about 7 years old, one guy offered me $120 including battery but no headset. that's pure extortion!!!!

well anyway, i ended up buying a MacDonald's $2.50 Honeydew Milkshake. this drink is so sweet that my throat simply rejected the liquid. so i threw it away when i drank half of the cup.

driving updates!!! well, my last lesson before my enlistment and i nearly got hit by a truck!! a huge one at that. not your everyday pickup truck. i was turning at a junction, i wasn't alert. instead i was like sort of daydreaming; it happens sometimes if you drive long enough. fortunately for me, my instructor was alert enough to jam the brakes to let the truck swerve just before it hit my car.

i didn't know what i was thinking at that moment. just the second i saw the truck flashed its headlights and everything went by so fast. the big-ass truck was like driving like what? almost 70km/h!!! because it was driving down a hill-road. i could've been really killed back then. thank God i was not.
sheeshkebab-ed.

and that's that. and i cornered at a staggering 65km/h. just for the record eh? =x

then, good night. oyasumi!!!!

Random Talk

they are the most adorable yet could be the little devils in our lives.

children.

i must say i get along pretty well with children. well not that i have children. yet;
i was once a child too. i remember how i was treated as a child craving for attention from adults. i loved it so why not the rest right? heheh.
so using this proven principle, i, will and can get along well with children.

since i'm one of the pioneers of cousins in my family, it isn't really that difficult. but of course sometimes, i have to lower down my status to their levels just to be able to talk to them.
for example, imagine talking about nuclear fission when all they know is just simple trigonometry. sometimes being a 'big brother' doesn't really pay off but they do look up to elder cousins for directions.

anyway, back to the topic, apart from asking for my PSP to play with, 'a-la-Ahmad', my youngest cousin, he's very adorable!! he always asking for me, well, primarily because of my PSP and i'll tell him that i didn't bring or.... PSP spoil and he'll keep quiet. hahahahh.

Ahmad: Abang, where PSP?
Me: PSP spoil la. cannot use.
Ahmad: Ohhhhhh. then Ahmad cannot play eh?
Me: Cannot la. spoil already must send to repair.
Ahmad: Then after repair, Ahmad can play?
Me: Can can. but now cannot. Ahmad wait ok?
Ahmad: Ok. Ahmad wait.
---

kids really say the darnest things sometimes.

but if i were to have kids, i would want daughters!!hahahaaa....
Tomoko
Hiroko
Yoko

how?

nice right?! (say nice or else!!)
my girls.

Zhi Da says that he predicts i would have many children in future when i get married.
well, i think 3 is sufficient. i think. ya, i think. or 4 la maximum. add 1 more girl(wife) that makes 5 women in the household. that's errr... too much i think.
i must strike a balance within the force.

the wife? i think i'm going to have a hard time finding.
its just this fancy i couldn't get rid of. it changes.
one day i can fancy this girl all day and the next day, it could all change. explains why i didn't and couldn't find a replacement. i can't afford to break another girl's heart i suppose.
hey, i'm not that bad of a person. i suppose so don't you think? =/

it'll go away i guess. i hope it goes away. i'll be super sad if it doesn't. Zhi Hui and Hadi heard me talking to this girl once. and they said, 'Eh! you talking or flirting sia?!' niahahahahahhh. the latter of course.

if anyone can beat my personal record of talking on the phone for 9 hours. please by all means. break it. it got so long, that i had to use the phone's charger to continue talking after 2 hours. and the best thing was, i stopped the conversation at 7am and i had school at 8am. how nice.
and that was the day i was late for IN3D lab on that Wednesday morning where Ms Cherry nearly had to debar me for IN3D.

but neverthemore, don't ever underestimate the power of ALL-DAY FREE INCOMING CALLS.

and sleepiness is catching up to me. good morning people! OHAYO!!!!!!!!!!!

TP INT Graduation '07

yesterday, the 23rd of May, marked the day i am officially not a Temasek Polytechnic student anymore.

after 3 very exciting years, finally. i have graduated!..my grandmother would've been proud.

the day started off at me going to Isetan at 12pm to buy a tie and a belt. last minute as it seemed but i couldn't find my ties and my one smart belt that i brought to Thailand.
then after, i had a simple haircut done and went home to prepare.

i took a taxi to school!! how awesome and money-wasting can it be?!... very in my opinion.
so upon reaching, i met Umar but i followed Sharon and Felicia to meet up with the rest of the C092 girls.
note: girls.

met a lot of my coursemates all waiting to enter the graduation venue. oh! i met my engineering friends too!! when they came out shouting and taking photos at the engineering canteen. Fahmy, Yasir, Basheer and Happy!! haha.

and also 1 non-graduating student; Cherry. non-graduating but ushering. LOL. no pun intended. actually there's no pun. oh forget i said anything. saw her eating cookies with her colleague. she's becoming more and more of a cookie monster that girl. that's gotta be good man. cherry-flavoured cookies!! my favourite. yummmm......

so anyway! i met all my coursemates, registered and traded our matric cards for a lousy piece of white paper which had our seat number on in the TCC Hall. my seat was K45. K44 was Ghani and K46 was Alvin Neo. had a dramatic entrance to the hall. we were joking our way through the hall finding our seats. one thing i noticed during the ceremony was the ringing of handphones. i'm not sure whether they are dumb or simply could comprehend what was earlier being said about observing silence regarding mobile devices. sickening people.

we had to listen to 2 opening speeches, 1 by our INT School Principal and the other 1 by an invited guest from IBM Singapore Head of Sales Department. both ladies so the speeches were an interesting listen.

after that was the actual ceremony, going up the stage, walk across it, shake the hand of the INT School Principal, hold the folder facing the camera, pose for stage photo and exit the stage. backstage, we had to tell our name to the registrar for our actual Diploma certificate. then we are showed back up to our seats.

finally, the prize winners and medallists for the respective courses are announced. the most thing that is very disturbing is the speech given by the so-called, creme-de-la-creme, Darren Sim. i don't mind the speech, but i mind the bloody accent and slang he's using. its so bloody unnatural and fake that i reckon an 12-year-old Japanese kid speaks better English than him. i'm serious! and all the time, he's trying just to keep up the slang and the purpose of the speech was not clearly brought forward. not only that, he speaks just like Sam from Microsoft Speech Tools. as you've might guess, its like a robot.
just because he went to USA for summer internship doesn't mean he really has to show off that fake slang. i hate it. in fact, i despised it. it just ruined the whole ceremony. and what's with 'God bless all of you'? is he dumb or what? totally unforgivable.

apart from it, the food reception was acceptable. found my mum and dad amongst the crowd and ate with them a while. after that i got pulled for phototaking. took with almost everyone in MWC except a few. took with Mr Yap, Mr Joshua with my classmates. oh and not forgetting Ms. Cherry. this girl ah, i must personally call down from her house. she relented lah of course. hahaha! not that i'm being rude or forceful or anything. though she looked pretty tired. sent her back since my parents are also waiting for me.

i went back up after that to look for Anujot and the rest. found Shirley and Shellen instead so took photos with them. talked to her mother too.

Me: Hi Auntie! How are you?
She: Good, good. yourself?
Me: I'm ok la these few days, going in NS soon.
She: Ohh! good la.
Me: Auntie you have a very talented and smart daughter. you're very lucky....
She: Oh thank you!! thank you very much...(laughs).
Me: (laughs)...okay, take care auntie!! see you soon!
---
Me: Auntie when can i marry your daughter?

ok let's not get carried away now. but i do get my socialising skills from my mum.

the link for the photos are here.
its not a complete collection just yet, i've still yet to upload Sharon's collection and Mr Yap still owes me some photos.

that's it for my entry this time.

Congratulations to all Graduates!!! Omedetou!!
i wish you all the best in whatever you do!
and hope to see you all again in future!!!

かのじょ は きれいな

after quite an absence, i'm back!!! i'm still recovering from a triple whammy of fever, cough and flu since yesterday. now all the green mucus are all coming out. disgusting.

anyway, graduation ceremony is right around the corner!!! i can't be all the more excited. going to meet all my coursemates after a long, long, long holiday. i bought that fugly graduation attire for $42! on a bright note however, i can rent it for $20 per pax for graduands next year. its got this red stripe in the middle that's really bugging me. such a bummer. really.

oh, here's a fun fact. i'm going to be enlisted in like 17 days!! excited? nervous?!!

i've never seen you this beautiful. so beautiful. you're so beautiful.

Why Are The Cherries Sour?

hello hello heellllloooooooooooooooooooo.........

good morning for the past 2 days. i rode the slumber train all the way to Orchard for 2 mornings!! its really a 'dead' train. almost everyone looks like they just got off from bed; which is true but c'mon people!!! have a zesty and bright morning!!!!

and when i was talking to Hadi and being bubbly chatting and laughing, everyone else was like, 'errrrrr.....errrrrrrrr....uh?'.
its quite depressing to see people in the morning walking like zombies. to me at least.

anyway, there's 3 new girls working at my workplace. Li Xian, Cheryl and Sharon. NTU business students. same age as me. the difference between them and me?

they're potential degree-holders. i'm just still a kid with a diploma and going for military enlistment. see the gap? by the way, Cheryl's a pretty cute gal eh? C-H-E-R-Y-L. hah, rhymes with C-H-E-R-R-Y. hahahahahh.

oh which reminds me, a couple of days ago i ate some cherries. i didn't like it because they were sour cherries. bad bad cherries. come to think of it, the last i ate cherries were like 5 years ago? its quite rare to find them in markets. aiyah, in simple English; seasonal fruit lahhh.

today, after work, i bought like 5 bottles of Dutch Lady milk. for the past week, i have this crazy craving for milk at night. now the bottles i think can last only for 2 weeks. at work, i would also drink milk. milk is good you know? just that it gives me a reason to go to the toilet. hahahah!

working morning is just as sian.

Leaders Of Tomorrow

if there was one word to describe yourself, what would be it?

as for me i would probably think of; mysterious.

i always got this feeling of the need to be well, undetected.
think of a low-profiler. you think?! hah.

trust me when i tell you i don't thrive in fame. in any case, i recently took a profile test online. to view full results, click here.

in a nutshell, i'll mention it here.
it says, 'You are an encouraging leader.'
i'm 'Encouraging towards others.'

i wonder what does it take to live up to those words. i'm not saying i cannot make the cut, always take it with a pinch of salt is more i like it. i ever led a few people before. personally, it felt great! as you might have not known, i'm an adventure leader in Adventure Club! =)
so i had a few people under my charge and it was off to Pulau Ubin for 2 days!

in my honest opinion really, i don't understand why they need maps there. the island is so frigging small, its about the size of Tampines and Pasir Ris combined. the most interesting is, the map stations doesn't cover all the small/unmarked routes. so, does that mean, if we don't follow a marked road and get lost, we would eventually stumble into Outward Bound School?
ok, that doesn't make sense. blehh~~ =P

being a leader is very... satisfying. believe me. but sometimes, you may often find yourselves not playing by the rules. being a leader doesn't mean about adhering to the rules all the time. its about moral judgement. as you can see, i'm a judgmental and situational person.

rules are there for a reason. they are to ensure strict adherence to all procedures. rules are not meant to be broken; if they are, why have rules in the first place? this is where judgment comes into place. and you find yourself questioning; is it worth it?

in the end, people look up to charismatic, influential and capable leaders.
so if you find yourself as a leader next time, those under your charge are relying on you to make decisions.

think you can handle it?

but remember this, 'we are the leaders of our lives, we are the captains of our souls'.

Mum's The Best

its Mother's Day!

the second Sunday of May.
and let me give the honours to the bravest woman i've ever met; my Mother! =)

i treated the whole family to dinner. called up Pizza Hut since i believe, the restaurants are going to be jammed crowded. but i don't believe a $50 meal would be a fair trade since she gave me the greatest gift of all; life.

to Mum: this is for you.
Happy Mother's Day....

Lieutenant Matriix

i went out with my family today.

actually we just went to the new Courts Megastore at Tampines North. my dad wanted to look for a brand new speaker system to complement the old 5.1 Infinity speakers and Yamaha A/V receiver and amplifier. initially we looked and he wanted to get new Yahama system worth at least $2,300. *gulp*

then he saw Harmon Kardon and Infinity speakers package worth $4,999. *gulp again*

and finally he wanted to settle nothing less than $2,000. so tomorrow he's going to Adelphi opposite Funan Mall to look for higher prosumer systems. but i'd bet he was aiming 'Marantz'. that would be uber cool but i guess its price tag of $15,000 is such a rip-off.
you can check it out here.

next week, i'd be working in the AM shift! =D
which means waking up at 5am and going home at 3pm. just for next week, i wanna experience working in the morning. i'm quitting soon anyway, so might as well learn new things.

in any other news, tomorrow's Mother's Day!!!

which reminds me, i got an email.

Please click the image for a larger view. it shrunk when i got it initially.

if you haven't done anything for your mum the past year, now's the time to do it.
treasure your Mother, you only have 1 in your entire lifetime.

as the Malay saying goes, 'Syurga di bawah tapak kaki ibu.'
which means, 'Heaven is underneath your Mother's feet.'

i was always reminded as a kid,
'Remember it for as long as you live, kiss your Mother's feet to seek for forgiveness.'

other than that, life's pretty straightforward.

last Thursday, i met Michelle to repair her ailing laptop. supposed to just help her just change the hard disk file system. i ended up doing software installation too. she was her chatty self.
i wouldn't want her to be 'Little Angry Girl' a.k.a 'LAG'. hahaa.
sometimes i would disturb her, 'Eh Michelle, don't LAG lahh!'.
and i taught her a new Malay word, 'merajuk'. haha
then now when she gets irritated with me, she would say, 'i merajuk!!'. funny la she. =)

i've been promoted yet again. my rank's now Lieutenant.
i made some good friends overseas too.

Who Wants Power?

having power is like an addiction. the more you have it, the ever more you want it.

when physical strength is mixed with feelings of anger, vengeance and no remorse. you don't need a weapon. you are a human weapon. it is so dangerous that i myself try to stay away from it.

"With great power comes great responsibility."

tsk.

that is for weaklings.

anyways. that's not my point.

i found this article in one of the Reader's Digest book i was reading.
it read:

"Birth order, it seems, can determine personality traits. First-time parents have high expectations and bring out traits like confidence, leadership and determination in first-born children. Family dynamics change with every addition. Middle Child Syndrome is real for kids sandwiched between a confident older sibling and the family baby. They may need extra parental attention to avoid feeling resentful. The youngest child tends to be affectionate, and savvier, with older siblings to show the way. They're also known to get away with most things, something all older siblings can attest to."
by Debbie Lau, RDYOU; Reader's Digest November 2006.

by majority, i personally think that, it's true. maybe not so for a two-child family. but seriously for me, its true.

instilling confidence and leadership and determination.
you have no idea how i was whacked as a kid if i got more than 10th place in class. the worst i got in primary school was 16th position.

in fact, if you look at first-born children, they have similar traits.
and that's what distinguishes leaders from followers.

Sembilu

Kelam malam sepi melamar kerinduan
Tak terbatas ingatanku terhadapmu
Dan pada siapa harus ku adukan
Resah ini kian menghimpit perasaan

Dan seandainya kasihmu mekar bagai dulu
Pasti tidak aku terbelenggu begini
Bukan salah aku retak semua ini
Berpunca darimu bertikam lidah
Lalu punah

Tak dapat ku bayangkan
Tuturmu bagai sembilu*
Mencakar hati ini
Tanpa simpati di hati
Ingin rasanya
Ku laungkan rasa kecewa

(x2)
Kekasih lupakan sejarah
Cinta kita baja dulu
Di manakah kau campakkan
Cintaku yang pernah kau sanjungi
Oh mengapa
Semua ini berlaku
Sedangkan aku sedikit pun tak pernah curang
Terhadapmu
---

my own English-Malay translation
---
in the gloomy night hides love to yearn
there's no limit of my memory of you
who else can i drown my sorrows to
this restlessness is squeezing my feelings

and if only your love blooms like old times
then i won't be in a dilemma like this
it's not my fault that all these have broken
it started from you arguing
then become destroyed

i cannot envision
your talk's like Sembilu*
scratching my heart
without forgiving in heart
i want to feel
and want to shout in disappointment

(x2)
a lover who forgotten his/her past
our love-fueled past
where have you thrown it away
my love which you once embraced

oh why
all these happened
when i have not once deceived
to you

High-Definition BABY!

WARNING: LONG POST AHEAD!

i was working on Labour day. how'd you do it!? (Norbit)

i didn't even realise that it was supposed to be a holiday then. so i got to work, and i asked one of the new part-timers, 'You just finished school ah?'. and i got that quirky look from him. haha.

the best part of all, i realised, that whenever i start at 4pm, i would be assigned as the Mezza9 food runner. that simply means no extra tip for me because i don't get to serve. and i didn't get to see Michelle. she's not working. hurhurhur.
no matter. the new AM wanted to introduce me to this girl who's name is.......

strange name for a Malay girl.

Neko.

she works at Straits Kitchen. that's no wonder i don't recognise or ever seen her before. the name's fine. but that's the word for cat or kitten in Japanese. of course i didn't say it out loud. but that was interestingly interesting.
she's okay i guess. the fact that i'm not really in favour of dating a Malay girl. whoever said you can't run away from your destiny must've had a lack of options. however, its always good to clock on experience.

whatever man. whatever.

so anyway, just now, i went to buy a new game for my PlayStation 3. huahuahua-hua.

First Encounter Assault Recon (F.E.A.R)

and....

a Blu-ray movie. pure 1080p High-Definition bliss, BABY!!!!!!
price? not much. about $148 including GST and discount.
title: Black Hawk Down.

i noticed my spending went through the roof the past 2 months since i got the PS3. man.
already now i own 2 controllers, 1 PS3 Bluetooth Remote Control, 3 games and 1 movie.
enjoying the last month of freedom as a 19-year-old guy with a near $2,000 dollar wallet to spend.

in other news, i have recently been promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major of the Army in Resistance online. just this morning, i kicked some people's ass by topping the charts with a whopping 2,200 score.
don't mess with a guy who's playing an online game with a 62" High-Definition projector screen 6am in the morning. and yes, i stayed up all night to play.

i love this song, 'Call Him Mine' by Tata Young. man, she's hot! Sexy and pretty. just... perfect.

hah. hah. hah. hah. i know my post has no main point. its just a mess.
but back to the video. just check out that dress she's wearing. that pair of legs and that voice. just perfect. Thai girls are pretty, you know. its no doubt. 3 months in Thailand. she's American-Thai by the way.

usually after work, me and some of my buddies would hang out at a 24-hour coffeeshop until 3am just opposite TP. most of the time its just coffee talk. in Malay, we call it, 'berbual kosong'. hahah. talk about girls, gossip and discuss how to get more than 1 girlfriend. the experience comes in handy. sometimes share tips on night activities on the bed. HAHAH. no. i'm not joking. serious.
and i always end up taking a cab home.

and i need to sleep now. tomorrow going to Kg Ubi Driving Centre.
