My Girl Next Door

The Girl Next Door.

Most guys are familiar with the term describing the ideal girl who doesn't lives next door; however hard we prayed and wished she would.

If you have been to some serious parties, one would notice the uber pretty, wild girls patronising the joints. Naturally, us guys will look out for that flirtatious smile, that sexy dance moves and a 'killer' body to match.

Who Is The Girl Next Door?

Let's define her!

Ultimately, it come with terms of our mature instincts such as being naturally pretty, a demure lass with an ideal life of marriage, children and tender love. Once established, we focus on the more finer points that she has come to nurture after years of parental guidance.

Each and every guy has his set of guideline to define his version of the girl-next-door. Generally, she's the girl that you would admire from from a distance and would afraid to approach fearing the consequences would affect the almost perfect ideal of a woman unspoiled by other men that you've come to know.

In a way, you could put it this way;
Say, your sister's best friend when you were young. In your immaculate mind, she's always that 10-year-old cutie who always accompanies you during play time. Only, when you meet up 10 years later, she's still a cutie but all-grown up and you could really connect up to many more levels because of the trust that was built up since then.

What Do We Like About Her?

She's a homebody. She's able to care for the house; cooks, cleans and is capable of bringing in life to the household. She's someone who's not afraid to stay in the house. She thinks that going out often is not the only way of keeping entertained and thinks that potentially, staying indoors does enhance the relationship.

She has family values. She believes in the importance of family. She does not stray far from the character upbringing of herself and her children. Because of this, she always try to do her best as the role of a daughter to her parents, wife to her husband and mother to her children.

She's sweet and alluring. Not by putting on layers of makeup, she's able to project her beauty flawlessly. She doesn't want to flaunt either but dress casually and lightly and make herself as seamless to the world as water in the air. She understands your needs and is prepared to care for you when you're sick. Her sweet demeanor - and knowing that what goes around, comes around - makes you want to be with her and take care of her in turn.

She's low maintenance. However good it might be to dress to impress, she always thinks that jeans and a t-shirt are fashionable and is good enough for a stroll in town. But, when the occasion calls for it, she will dress to the nines. A point to note that you don't have to always buy her presents to keep her on the toes. A simple message which says, "Good morning" or a "Good night" would remind her that you are always thinking of her.

She's predictable and safe. What you see is what you get. You always know where you stand with her. Period. There's almost no guesswork and that's a welcome change from all the dates that played mindgames with you before.

My version of the girl next door.

This girl right here.

Just the girl you want to show your parents to.
Just the girl you want to spend your afternoons with.
Just the girl you would want to cuddle with on the sofa.
Just the girl you would like to cook dinner with.

Just the kind of girl I want to settle down with and raise children with.

She's just the perfect girl.
---

I believe my sense of direction with girls are true to the point that looks play an important factor for me to choose a life partner. Let's face it; all of us has some vices that we don't want others to know.

I am but a normal person. What do I know?

My Secret Identity

truth is, i can't sleep.

listening to Come Clean (Chris Cox Remix) by Hilary Duff.

its the morning of 19th May. its Vesak Day!
well, i've been feeling under the weather for the past 2 days. i had running nose and coughing. must've been the weather.

Saturday afternoon i went to my ex-classmate's engagement invitation. gosh, she looks so pretty in the wedding dress. there was Hadi, Fairuz, Hafiz, Helfi, Zul and Shahira. it was good seeing them again too after a long, long while. Zul and Hafiz have yet to enlist in the Army. Shahira's a secondary school teacher at Bedok Green Sec if i'm not mistaken. when she saw me, she was like, "Eh Zaini!!!, you look like a Japanese ah..."

haha, i wished.

well, come to think of it, i've always been thought of a Chinese. the clever ones will ask first, "Are you a Chinese?".
the smarter ones are able to see through my accent; but what's the difference anyway.

i've said to many people that i don't have any Chinese ancestry. then, the next question, "Then, how come you've got fair skin?"

answer to that is my paternal side are descendants from Thailand. my grandfather was Thai, he converted. last i've seen him was like 3 - 4 years ago. that was the first time since i was in kindergarten. after kindergarten, i didn't see him for like until i was in polytechnic. that's like what?; 14 years!
from what i know he was from Thailand and came down to Singapore after the second world war. he converted and married my grandmother.

my maternal side comes from Bawean or infinitely known as 'Boyan'. its a part of Indonesia. its a very unique clan of people i think. nowadays, rarely you'll find people with 'Boyanese' race on their IC. their language is very unique too and not many people nowadays can really understand it. my maternal side has got a huge family tree. my grandmother has got 12 siblings, including my grandmother, that makes it 13 children. that's like woah can.

check this out on Wikipedia, Bawean and Malays in Singapore.

so what makes me then? Thai and Indonesian? ROJAK LAH!. not just any rojak, ROJAK Indon-Thai tau. hahah!
i'm still lousy at maths anyway.
and i still declare myself generally as a Malay. that's what i say when asked but i'll tell abit more if they're willing to listen.

i've got relatives scattered around the archipelago so it might seem.

language wise, i couldn't help but give a pass. i know certain phrases in Boyanese (bad ones, of course.) and basic Thai conversation skills which i had learnt during my 3-month stint as an intern in Bangkok, Thailand.

that, is my history. =)

I'm Feeling Artsy...

okay. okay. okay.

i've got to do some rearranging work in the guard house and since when am i a designer?!?!?!?!!!!

why won't art just escape from my life?!?!?!?!
is it my destiny or something that i have to stick with art all through my life?!!?
nursery; art.
primary school; more art.
secondary; even more art.
polytechnic; even more advanced art (3D).
army; DESIGNER / ARTIST!?

don't tell me i'm going to marry an artist hor.
later i dun care. hahah. no la, i care. =P

and the best part is..... art isn't my best subject!
i can't draw, well, i can if i wanted to. i hate drawing. my hands can't draw; not as well as i hoped, too. but then again!

our SM (Sergeant Major) came down to the guard house today to look at the new partition they've built up. so he was looking, and said, "Maybe it'll look better if you rearrange it. ok, come Zaini, you're a designer right? ok, you think of a way to solve this in a way that the rack is covered. then think of a way to how to assemble the table and put it somewhere where it is useful."

i gave him a smirk, and said, "Yes Sir!"
in my heart, i said, "Balls to me. tio liao loh."

it doesn't sound like much till you've seen the amount of furniture there is. easier said than done. i think after my NS days, i'll be able to build a house by my own hands.

anyway, in the afternoon, when me and Fadhlullah was taking our lunch rations, it was raining heavily. the land rover came, i got on the support to climb in the back of the rover. my left boot slipped! i fell off the vehicle, my lowest rib smashed into the corner of the protruding edge. literally, smashed my rib and the side of my leg was slammed against it. there was a sharp pain at first, i opened my mouth but there was no sound coming out because the pain was too unbearable and i fell to the ground. after a while, i picked myself up.

Fadh was like, "Eh dude, are you okay? that was one s*** whack you got."

i got a nasty abrasion mark there. honestly, i'm telling you, it hurts like crazy whenver i press the wound.

at the end of the day, i'm still as tired. all i think is to get home, have a hot dinner, bathe and go to sleep. i don't even think of eating out. i'm just so tired. sounds like a normal typical office job.

but mind you! i'm in the infantry vocation. being tired is normal.
okay, time to sleep!!!

Monday Blues...

i'm so tired. i'm so tired. really i am. i slept on the bus back home.

tomorrow is yet to come. i'm so really tired. really i am.
i'm tired of travelling between work and home. but what can i do?

we ran 4.8km and we had gone to the gym. by afternoon, it was to drag time till fall-out parade at 6.30pm.

and i got to wake up at 5am tomorrow! which i normally won't and will shut the alarm and go back to sleep and be late.

i'm just so tired right now, i've not showered yet, i could just lie down on my bed and sleep and i couldn't care less about eating dinner.

i feel like just, sleeping.
good night world.

HQ Cohesion Day

last Friday, we had our cohesion activity at East Coast Park.

we were told to gather at Marine Cove's Mcdonalds at 9am but it only started at 9.40am. some of them were rather late because of traffic jams like this Staff Sergeant, she lived in Woodlands, she gave the taxi driver $50 for the fare and got back $2 change so you get the idea of how much the fare was. $48!! insane.

anyway, pictures! ummm...

Fadhlullah and me at the McDonald's waiting. can you see that my forehead has an uneven tan?!
a part of it is white! hahah. i look funny.

now this, after walking to the games point for about 20 minutes, we arrived at the spot marked by white tape. here we're supposed to play a game called 'Dog & Bone'.
the game goes like this:

  • There's 5 players in each team.
  • Each player is numbered 1 to 5.

  • When a number is called by the umpire, the designated players run towards the middle and bring back a wooden block to the team's base.

  • If a player brings back the wooden block back to base without any contact by the opposing team scores!

  • However, if the opponent does manage to touch the person holding the wooden block, the point goes to the opponent.
  • First team to get 5 points WIN!
SIMPLE! but easier said than done but we had lots of fun.

i was teamed up with our lovely S4; Captain Choo, BSM; Warrant Lam, Warrant Saras and Master Kawthaman.

but we lost anyway, obviously. because i was the young blood in the team and they all depended on me to drive the team forward and honestly, other teams were better. S1's; Captain Marcus's team won eventually because he had a far younger team.

after the games, we had our lunch at Indian Times at the former Big Splash.

it was like a mini barbeque! the food was full of spices though. i can't really comment on the food, Indian food is one of my least favourite food.
and finally, the picture taking sessions after we had filled our bellies.

i can't deny how full of myself i was at that moment. hahah!

well, he's my fellow RP at work.

all the RPs excluding Sharil because he was on duty.
from bottom left, Thomas, Poon Yan, Fadhullah, Me, Fang Tao
from upper left, Ridwan and our BSM, Warrant Lam.

after lunch, we were dismissed at around 1.30pm.

i wanted to get home early so i could rest. but NOOOOOO.

those guys tempted me with football. haha!
how could i refuse?
a game by the beach which was so windy and under the hot sun.

the problem was, i was wearing jeans with double layer of black clothes. bad choice.
what i did was to fold up my jeans till mid-calf, took off one of my clothes as my inner tshirt was the thin material type and it was tight-fitting.

we played for about an hour on the grass patch which made my jeans felt like i was wearing three jeans because i was sweating.

i took the cab home.

Clubber's Guide 101

i just got back from town. at this hour?

i went to Phuture, which was beside Zouk. ok ya, so i went to a club. hahah!
it wasn't my first time but i've honestly haven't been there before. i'm not really into the clubbing thing but yeah...

we celebrated Khairul's birthday. there was Khairul, Leslie, Rong Chang, Shawn, Razis, Ridzwan, Fazly, Yo and me.

cover charge was $33.

we entered at about 11.45pm. they bought some drinks and went slightly loose. i don't drink so i ended up with red bull. hahahh! man, i'm pathetic but there was no other drink.

maybe i'm out of trend lah, but are girls nowadays different?
like for instance, i was squeezing/walking through the crowds and was walking behind my pack of friends. two girls were walking in the opposite direction. guess what they did!??!

as they walked past me, obviously the space between was not very small, they swiped their breasts on my arm. i stunned there and apologizing to them and trying as hard not to smile....but i did.

=)

it wasn't my fault what! hahah.
that was unforgettable.

then, while we were on the dancefloor, there was this girl draped in nothing but a cloth covering her chest area like a bikini-esque shirt and had like short, short pants/skirt. she was drunk i think but i wouldn't know because the whole place smelt of alcohol. i think i was high too.

she danced and came along side me.

"i tell you ah, her backside ah, itchy or something. i think she needed a scratch there and was rubbing my crotch."

Shawn saw me and the girl and showed me the finger. hahah! how lucky could i get eh?

TWICE? NO. THRICE.

again, another girl was dancing with 2 of her female friends. she backed up and backed up again till her backside....

"Her backside ah, i think not itchy, i think my crotch is."

in all, i had a TRIPLE WHAMMY.

in the trance area, they had this UV lighting on the stairs to the 2nd floor. i just couldn't dance to trance. and it gave me headaches. so we waited at the bar instead. the UV lighting made anything that is white in colour turn into a fluorescent blue.

so basically, in the dark, i would see like cool things like, a girl wearing a blue fluorescent short pants. and along came 2 girls.

"I saw, their white bras being turned to blue!"

so that means, they had well, thin clothing. i mean, might as well flaunt it when you can't hide it right.

i had quite a good time really. i took the cab back home with Yo, i think i must've slept in the cab.

to be honest, i don't go for club girls. they're a tad too wild for me.

wild in bed, OK.
wild in other places other than in bed. NOT OKAY.

on a side note, SAF gives $200 to servicemen who get married while in service. oh yay! maybe i should get married too!

darlings, i wanna get married. =)
if only they give $200 per wife married. i'll marry all of you! hahahahahaha!

Wed-Dings

hello!

Rashidah, my secondary school ex-classmate is getting engaged this coming week. she invited a limited number of us to the engagement ceremony at her house. i'm really happy for her too!
just turning 21 and she's the first among us that is getting engaged.

well, congratulations Rashidah!
i wish you all the best. =)

as for me. uhhhhh. no comment. okay, maybe i shall comment abit.

these are the random questions i'll get when going visits either during Hari Raya Puasa or any other functions held at some relative's place or inadvertently, during outings with old friends.

"Do you have a girlfriend?"
"When are you getting married?"
"When do i get to see your children?"
"When can i be invited to your wedding?"

---

bothersome questions really. i'm still 20 so as to say but that didn't stop me from answering the questions amicably.

like, "Soon, soon." and smiling.
nothing short of a shotgun wedding. i wouldn't want that.

love is priceless. you can never buy love with money or any worldly treasures.

to me, getting married is i'd have to make sure that i have a stable source of income to support my new family. my principle is, once i get married, i've been handed the integrity of caring for someone else's daughter and it is my duty to provide for her; to put it formally.

that's why its hard for me to easily give my love away. in other words, its hard for me to love and accept someone but once i do, i'd give everything. =)

anyway!....

that's my soft side for you.
mr softie! that 7-eleven ice-cream.

i've been wanting to eat ice cream lately!
the other day at the SAF Medical Training Institute cookhouse where we usually take our lunch rations, they had ice cream for dessert. the ice cream were the red bean ones which were my favourite there!! i ate about 5 sticks before finally stopping because i had forgotten that i hadn't eaten my lunch. desserts before a meal. it had upsetted my stomach.

its a lucky thing that i hadn't put on much weight too.

*sigh*

i wonder how my future is going to be like.

Outrageously Insanely Tiring Week

i'm just so exhausted that i'm going to sleep now.

just logged in to say hi. so 'HI!'.
and check my Facebook account and this.

its very hectic and boring at work because we not allowed, wait.... because we don't have a PC at work!!!

how pathetic is that. not even a form of electronics. well, aside from the TV; who watches '90s american serials? they'll bore a grown-up teenager; like me. maybe Mediacorp should do a better job of airing some latest shows.

i gave up on msging or calling people because i end up screwing up my own bill. tsk tsk.

tomorrow, there's IPPT. again!
my muscles are aching like mad after hitting the gym recently.

on Friday, there's 6AMB HQ cohesion at East Coast Park. i'm not driving there. no way.
for the telematch games, we've been teamed up accordingly or should i say randomly.
i've been put under our S4, Captain Choo. she's our HQ OC and a very nice person really. some people think she's the motherly type. i think she's about 25 or 26. not married yet though.

okay! my hair is dry. TTS! time to sleep.

Random! Random! Random!

while waiting for my hair to dry, i've decided to just drop by.

i've had one hell of a day today. firstly, i slept at around 3.30am last morning because i can't sleep! i ended up powering up my Playstation 3 and played Gran Turismo 5; its a racing simulation.

about that, i bought a Ferrari F430 and raced the track. i clocked about 16 laps before my eyes began to slowly close. it was very dramatic i tell you. it wasn't until i hit the wall of the racing track that i knew i was half-sleeping; at 200km/h.

i powered it down and went to sleep. my alarm woke me up at 5am but i off-ed it and went back to a supposedly 30 more minutes of sleep. i woke up at about 6.05am and reached camp at 7.50am. i was really late but oh well.

the first thing my colleague said to me, "Bro, you okay or not?"

i highly don't recommend it to anyone. my mind switched off during the bus ride home. i didn't know i was sleeping leaning sideways until the bus jerked to a stop at the traffic light after exiting from TPE.

on another note, there's this colleague at work, who is well.... LAZY.
all of us are actually frustrated with him.
but one thing he doesn't seem to bother, he don't even want to hide his laziness.

he goes home early, though he lives only a few bus stops away from camp.
he 'arrows' people to do flag lowering because apparently he's too lazy to even stand up from the chair.
he's angry when people make mistakes but laughs it off when he makes a mistake.

what am i doing?
i am just in a too good mood.
have you heard me shout? i doubt so, but if you have, it'll probably be too late to figure out why.

like, there's these few guys just now. they're waiting for their pick-up vehicle to fetch them.
and there they were 'ba-long-long-ing' at the road kerb at the camp gate.
i called them; nicely.
they took their time and slowly walked.

they. really. tested. my. patience.
but, i let them off with a stern warning. i'm a good policeman. hah!

alright! some random thoughts but still amusing.
my hair's dry. time to sleep! =)
good night!~

Sleepyhead

eh, i can't sleep. i keep tossing and turning so that makes me a 1 times mee goreng.

my mind keeps running. i can't switch it off! grrrr. of all times when i want a good night's sleep.
ahh! i'll go read some books.

*poof*

Work And Work...

its back to work tomorrow. boo-ooooooooooo!!!!!!!

its such a chore but when i think about ORD-ing next year, its going to be quite a memory how NS life is like. it never fails when i meet up with polymates or secondary schoolmates and we start talking about NS life. some people even violently objecting talking about NS. to think of it, that is all that we can talk about. we're in camp most of the time!

most of the time, if there were girls in the group, they would either be listening to that good-old field camp story, that long route march or that haunted bunk in some ulu camp. some girls love it, others don't.

aside from the military. there are a few things i've noted. mostly about how i control my habits be it spending money or playing games. at the start of last week, i made mental notes to myself; like not to spend more than $20; which i achieved thankfully.
its something like setting short-term goals. maybe i've mentioned it in earlier posts. last year.
so this coming week, i want to spend less time playing games and revise back my Japanese!

reason being, i restarted playing my Nintendo DS. there's this cute game that's in Japanese. i do know how to read but i vaguely get what it means.

oh well, time to sleep i guess. its late already.
good night. おやすみ。

Forever & Ever...

today, is a very tiring day, yet again. seems like it has been becoming a norm.

i stood sentry for almost 5 hours. so strong was the heat that it had me on dizzy spells. once i was relieved of duty, i went to the cooler and i think i drank almost 3 litres of water. its the heat and the air keeps getting warmer as the days go by.

also, my left ankle joint is getting the aches. i'm getting old. seriously. now i know how it feels.
then again, i'm not even 21 yet!! i'm still 20. hahahah! 20 going on 21. oh bother!

ever since starting back with gym routine in the early morning after the runs, i felt the muscles forming back after since i lost them during my poly years which i grew as fat as a ninja turtle back then but nevertheless!

ohh, i'm losing weight again! but seems my 2.4km timing keeps getting worse.

for the coming weekends;...... maybe i'll stay at home?
saving money perhaps? my pay has yet to come on the 10th.
with regards to socialising, Khairul from HQ is organising his birthday party at Zouk on the 9th. followed by a karaoke session the following day. talk about a birthday bash!

personally, i don't go to clubs. i find it pointless. most NSF say its because can get to socialise lah, this and that. why? other than clubs, no other place to make friends meh?
i try to keep my balance of friends though; not getting too involved with too many cliques. its not wrong to go clubs really.

about the karaoke thing, i've been to karaoke joint only once which was in Thailand when i was having my attachment. our boss took us to this karaoke place which was somewhere near our suburban area. it had a nice classy touch to it though the mozzies kept biting. that was the only one time. i'm not a fan of karaoke; not openly at least. gahh! what the heck.

HQ Cohesion on the morning of 9th May! we're all looking forward to it at East Coast Park. a time where we can enjoy the food and the half day off. a Staff Sergeant told us it was going to be Indian food. honestly, i don't care because i'm not paying for it because its free! haha. typical Singaporean. why should i be not? its FREE! haha.
one good thing about FREE stuff is people can't complain.

right then, sorry about the messy post, my mind's in a mess right now. so i'll have to leave it on to defragment overnight. hah!

i feel like a robot honestly. every morning, i wake up, bathe, wear uniform, take the bus, reach camp, do work, flag lowering at 6pm, take the bus back home, bathe again, some admin time on the computer/TV/eat dinner and then to sleep by 10pm.

NO LIFE!

i'm just exhausted. i need some good sleep. the night before Labour Day, i slept at 5am playing my Nintendo DS. its so much fun playing Cooking Mama! hahahahahaha! i seriously recommend anyone who has a DS to play the game. my cousins got hooked when i showed them the game at the BBQ chalet yesterday.

gosh, i feel like a kid again.
i love you forever and ever babe... =)

Cherries Don't Blossom In May

its Labour Day! already? time sure flies but that's cliche.

anyway, yesterday, i missed my IPPT. yet again because i was late!
so i have to re-take next week.

in the afternoon, there was a CO Ceremony. there was the usual CO Opening Address followed by a talk by AIA about financial planning. it was quite an educational talk because the speaker made relevant examples so that i think made the talk worthwhile listening to. after which we were given 5 minutes break.

then, a talk about general health safety. about mosquitos, rodents, viruses and whatever things are related. a science talk really, but the speaker made it so relaxed, i enjoyed her funny antiques when talking about mosquitos and how to identify them.

she said something like, "Oh, besides the general Aedes mosquito, there's their sub-species which include albopictus and aegypti. how do you tell the difference? well, basically you look at the stripes, the aegypti have single stripes. these are the Corporals."

and the whole hall was sniggering and giggling. in military relevancy, the Corporal rank have a single stripe below the 'umbrella'. so that makes sense in layman term.

after that, a talk by our S3. i shan't elaborate about that because its all about the military and i'd reckon you won't be interested because its boring but how he said it made it so funny and entertaining. which is followed by some military video and the end. until.....

someone said, "OK guys, gather up at the parade square at Company level, our BSM is going to conduct a parade."

wah, when we heard that. utterly sian. we just bo pian lor.

so there we were at the parade square idling when we saw the BSM, with his parade stick.

he screamed, "OK GUYS!!! FORM UP!! WHAT YOU WAITING FOR!!??! NEVER MIND, I HAVE UNTIL 8PM, 9PM!!!!! HURRY UP!!!"

and scream, scream, scream, scream........

attendance was taken.

"DALAM BUKA BARISAN, KE-KANAN, LU-RUS!", he commanded.

si bei HO ah! check our uniform bearing and turnout. haircut, boots etc.

as RPs, our turnout and bearing was generally up to standard. our uniform had to be ironed, pressed, boots had to be brush-shined, haircut was to be kept short at all times. there was no excuses. so we got away. some of the rest, were not so lucky though. their names were taken down and most probably, they'll be receiving extra duties.

after the whole Battalion got inspected, we were dismissed and went home.

and now i'm here, reviving my Nintendo DS Lite. i've not been utilising it for about donkey months now. all because of Michelle! she called me earlier on to ask about some NDS stuff. talk, talk, talk until end up talking about games. why do i end up listening to her?
i got Cooking Mama 2. haha! addictive game.

i've got nothing to do on Labour Day! oh wait, did i said that already?
somebody, ask me out! haha. looking at the time though, its 2:00am and it looks like i'm going to spend the morning sleeping.

じゃ、おやすみ!
