Just Another Day

A rather not very fruitful day today. I woke up at about 11am. I went straight to the computer and went into MSN and chatted with Zafira a.k.a Feerella, ahahahah.

I bathed and ate my lunch which consisted of the morning's penne pasta. It was uhh....okay I guess after heating it up in the microwave. Basically I spent half the day talking to Zafira and watching TV.

Pretty boring. I didn't know where to go if I had gone out.

Well, she mentioned about finding 'chicks'. And the reason why I don't date Malay chicks. Its not I don't date them, I don't feel secure with a Malay chick, honestly. And to further that, I find some of them to be pretty demanding. Too much sometimes. I don't fault them entirely, girls being girls.

And the million-dollar question. What do the other girls have that Malay girls don't?

Honestly, I don't know. =/

War Has Begun

Its been a wild week. With this current flu outbreak, seems matters just got worse. Although Singapore is relatively safe with all the checks in place, I seriously doubt things are the same abroad. Its back to the SARS era again. Why is the world becoming a place for plague and disease? Its because of all the unclean people in this world. *POINTS*

The Ministry of Defence has upped the ante to increase the current Threatcon level to 'Yellow'. Which in my intepretation as a sign of escalating seriousness. All visitors, be it military or civilian, will be scrutinised for health declarations. That's where we come in. From being a military policeman to a part-time social health worker. How does that sound? Pretty versatile eh?

We're required to wear latex gloves, masks and equipped with ear thermometers with alcohol swabs and disposable caps instead of rifles and guns. What a sight. But its what needs to be done.

Why am I still up at this hour? Because I'm on leave today!! Long weekend for Labour Day. And I've just watched Friday The 13th. Which is I think, a typical American thriller movie. tsk tsk.

Oh well, I look forward again to an empty day ahead being at home, alone.

I need a girlfriend. Just for today. =)

Sworn To Many, Loyal To One Part II

I feel very distracted, suddenly I found myself lost in a world of emotions. My head tells me to be happy but my heart tells me that its full of sorrows. Why do I feel this way?

A smile can hide a thousand sorrows. Its not me to tell everyone what I have been going through. But through my eyes, I could see the depths of someone's life. You could hide through a smile but your eyes deceive you. That is the reason, it is rare of me to look into someone's eyes and say honest things for I know it is true.

I dare not say what I cannot keep. But to you, a person whom I found unexpectedly, saying that puts you somewhere between the edge. Is it too much a sacrifice for the love lost? I wonder.

Do you hate me that much? It bothers me. You simply deny yourself to me. Saying things that you know are untrue. You gave me that glint of hope and yet, you're keeping yourself away. I don't understand you.

Sometimes, I do let my emotions rule my thoughts. Its only human. I'm not blaming it entirely on myself. But, COME ON!. GADDAMNIT. FUCK THIS BULLSHIT.

I'm not regretting this anymore. I repent. For all the bad things you have done to me, I forgive you. And for all the things you have given me. Thank you.

Maintenance Woes

After a long thought that night, finally I have bought myself a nice Western Digital MyBook Essentials 1TB external hard disk drive. 1024GB of computing bliss!!

Feel the space in between my fingers!!! Mwahahahaha!. The new shop at Tampines One had an irresistable offer of $189 whereas the Maxtor 1TB eHDD was $159. The former came with a pair of Ipod portable speaker worth $200+ and they gave a free sling bag too.

Now, I have all the hard drive space I need. No more buying of hard drives. Enough already. All I need is some time to sort out the junk in my 3 other hard disks.

My computer had been jamming up on me recently. I thought its because of my lack of free space which had only 300MB in its C drive. Now it has over 3GB of free space, its still jamming up. So I did what any layman would do, open up the casing. Just like an experienced surgeon, I flashed the torchlight into the belly of the machine. Checking for any signs of malfunction of the slightly outdated hardware. No discrepancies found. Or so I thought. Out came the cables connected to the chassis and I unscrewed the screws and voila!!..... Dust. The number one enemy of any electronics.

I swiped the dust away with the brushed and the vacuum. I used the 1400 watt vacuum mind you. After that I took out the graphics card, the fan had clogged up with dust. Brushed it clean and put it together again. I fired up the machine again, no P.O.S.T beep, so its gotta be hardware problem. I have the jitters when it came down to hardware. I don't really have the financial power to replace them myself. *Gotta ask Daddy & Mommy* haha.

But to save cost! I try to salvage the bloody fan. I fired up the machine again and found out the graphics card cooler fan ain't working. Fked up I tell you. I picked up the screwdriver and began pushing it causing it to spin and I gave it a good push.

If money weren't a problem, it'd probably be smashed to the wall. -_-"

So, now its working fine I hope. FYI, I'm salvaging a 7 year old machine. I've maintained it well I suppose.

Telltale signs something is wrong with your hardware, the computer reboots by itself repeatedly. Its a mechanism the BIOS employs if the internal system gets too hot. If the computer slows down but doesn't jam, it probably gotta be the RAM, HDD, CPU or M/B overheats. In my case, the GPU overheated. I touched it the night before and found it unusually hot.

I have put Project Silent Aegis into place. Its an ambitious $1,500 plan to put an entry-level supercomp. That is all.
