Almost 6 days of staying at home, I have finally come to conclusion that life without social interaction can lead to a spike in behavioural hormone changes with the apt inability to focus on a certain reconstruction of brain cells due to deteriorating understanding of life.
In other words, eye-hand movement coordination is slowed down. This is apparent while playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Either I must have sucked or the other players hold a far superior skill than mine.
The fasting month will be greeted with big bangs due to the fireworks on National Day. School is starting in 2 weeks time and I just happened to read the online Study Guide which was posted up a few days ago. Maths 1 and Stats 1 are 2 of my biggest worry. I shan't be a lousy ass and will start to crank up the rusty bucket of the mind. Have to ensure its razor sharp once the term starts.
Speaking of which, to encourage critical thinking, I would need to read up on those formulae again to keep the mind fresh and afloat during lectures. There's Basics, Differentiation, Integration, Matrices, Sequences, FOSV (Functions Of Several Variables). Secondary school and Computing maths stuff. I ain't gonna say its easy, but its nothing new either.
Practice, practice, practice!!!!
I'm simply amazed of how some people can absorb information at a staggering rate. For example, you take a person who can remember a whole damn textbook, and pass the whole test without understanding anything. Now that, above all, takes a certain degree of skill because there's a limit at what a person can remember.
The whole point of remembering is to understand. And that is why, to teach someone is to learn.
You will never learn something until you teach what you have been taught.
Which brings me to another point. Social grace.
Many of us are taught by our elders, kindness begets kindness. But more often than not, if we had a test on that, we would have failed 10 times over.
Its not happening to the whole world, just here. In a world where reasoning skills have become a necessity, if not a must, by today's standard. If only we were that stupid, a sales job would bag the top spot as the job which would earn you an iron rice bowl.
But most unfortunately, in all sense of logic, we are not.
A typical and reasonably educated person would earn a modest SGD1,800.
Their degree-toting counterpart would earn a median SGD2,700.
This is purely coming from personal experiences having worked a fair bit in the private sector.
Are we bringing home enough to actually live a decent life? No.
Are we being short-changed by working here?
How much is really enough then?
Food for thought when finding a next job.
