Snow Isn't Gonna Fall But Rain Isn't Too Bad Either

I had a quite a few short tips over the weekend overseas for the past few weeks.

I was at Batam with some of my secondary schoolmates for a day-trip there. We took a ferry which was a 45 minutes trip.

We went on a tour which was surprisingly cheap at $58 for the ferry ride, tour and a seafood lunch. There was a go-kart track which we gladly paid around 100,000IDR for a 10+5 minute play. I hadn't played go-kart for a while but playing racing games on the Playstation 3 sure helped alot. Who knows, maybe I could just take up a career in racing. I absolutely LOVE speed.
But if I wanna gun it out, I'll go to a racing track and race responsibly. Racing is enjoyable, but most people do it in the wrong way.

Anyway, we had a massage which we paid around SGD$20 for about 1.5 hours. My whole body ached throughout the rest of the journey and lasted about 2 days thereafter.

Yesterday, I went to Plentong, Malaysia. My mom had wanted to do some grocery shopping there at Tesco Extra. Total spent, MYR400+. Not bad considering the amount of stuff we bought.

Its back to work tomorrow. I'm having a blocked/running nose now. My body clock has programmed itself to wake up at ~8am no matter what time I slept earlier. Last Thursday, I slept at 6am, only to find myself wide awake at 9am. The weird thing was I didn't feel a hint of fatigue. I wasn't cranky and I was feeling active. I wasn't tired and since I was young, my body rejected the idea of sleeping during the day so I don't even try.

Life is too short to be unhappy no?

Happy Holidays everyone!

A Sure-Fire Strategy

After a week of being food poisoned, I'm on my way back to recovery. My appetites coming back and I no longer have the urge to vomit.

I have to admit I do have weak stomach. I can't just eat everything and anything.

Anyway, this past weekend, I went to Johore, Malaysia for some good family time. My aunt had some discount with a Golf Resort somewhere at Pasir Gudang. So we had the whole bungalow to ourselves. You gotta love the exchange rate. 1 SGD = MYR 2.44

We stayed overnight for the weekend in the 4-bedroom, 2-storey bungalow with a car porch. It wasn't that new so as to say but it was pretty decent. There wasn't that much amenities though except playing golf, bowling, horse riding and swimming.

Today, I went to work feeling shagged. Too many emails to answer and too many calls to entertain and I had to OT abit to help out a colleague with some stuff.

I'M TIRED! haha. =)

Good night world.

He Who Has Lost His Patience, Will Fall Apart

Dear God,

Why does my heart feel so uneasy and so troubled today? My conscience tells me that I should come to you for answers.

You called me everyday but yet I was so stubborn not to answer your prayer calls. I've begun to slowly realise that you have given me so many chances. And now I have come to you to seek solace.

What is this feeling of fear, anxiety, sadness?
Clear my troubled mind and my uneasy heart, please. I cannot take this anymore. I'm at breaking point. Point me to the correct path and I will follow with an open mind.

Yours Faithfully,
Muhammad Ruzaini

Life Is Random

It's me again! How long has it been!?

Life is not that bad. Work is alright I guess.
Anyway, its been raining almost everyday and that kinda pisses me off. I'm not able to go for a run in the evenings because of the downpour and secondly, its so humid after the downpour, its quite difficult to breathe with all the moisture.

November is coming to an end soon. New Year is just around the corner. And guess what?! I'm planning a 1 month trip to Japan next year!! I'm going in July; during summertime.

And I'm going to sleep.

Have a good night.

Note to self, i need to blog more often.

No Money, No Honey

I'm sick. I've got a cough and flu. I've been on MC since yesterday.

It started with a sore throat on Saturday, carried on till Tuesday. I was still doing well on Tuesday. It was during Tuesday night that everything went down. I started sneezing, my eyes started to get watery and my nose kept running. I tried to sleep it away but it turned out worst.

I had trouble keeping my hands from rubbing my nose. And my voice sounds weird.

I went to my family doctor who gave me some medicine and 2 days of medical leave.

During my free time at home, I've been refreshing my mind and fingers on the piano. Its already stiff from a long hiatus. Not that flexible as it used to be during secondary school. But I managed to cover a part of 'Akai Namida' from 'Shakugan no Shana'. That song is simply awesome.

Back to work tomorrow. =/

I'm going to sleep.

Cruising Up & Down

I guess I'm being labelled as an inactive Blogger now.

I'm in my 2nd week of work at IBM. A broadcast to all who's working at Changi Business Park. I need a lunch partner. Fortunately, I was being assigned a project that only requires me to work during office hours. Meaning to say, its 9am - 6pm. What I do at IBM? I can't reveal as I'm not supposed to say what I'm handling. I'm now under the Official Secrets Act.

And I got my new car already!!! Chevrolet Cruze. Nice ride. Very spacious. =)
Need to wait till after run-in then can speed. In the meantime, I'll be driving at only 80km/h max.

Now I need to go sleep. Good night everyone!!

I'm Leaving On A Jet Plane

I got a job at IBM! Isn't it good? Finally, I can put my holiday plans to motion.

The salary is average and I'm not going to disclose it. =)

I'll be starting work on the 26th of October. The office is located at Changi Business Park. Its so near! Yes I know! =)
I'll save the time and cost of travelling.

I'm having almost zero social life after Hari Raya. I'm at home most of the time and I don't wish to spend any money. Money is important. And partly because I'm playing Battlefield 1943 on the PlayStation 3. I'm currently holding Major Bronze rank. That's 2 stars. And I dare say I'm pretty darn good at this game. If you wish to join me in a game or two, add me up. My PSN ID is Matriix. With TWO 'i'.

Somehow, I've not been keeping in touch with some people. I really notice that when its around this time every year. I like to keep to myself. I just don't know why. Seclusion is the best. I mean, how often do you really spend time for yourself alone?
That's just me.

I've been watching Korean dramas lately. Their skin is so so so fine. Okay, now some people might say that Koreans are well-known for doing plastic surgeries. I just couldn't believe it, maybe they're just jealous. Its not just them, look at the Japanese and Chinese. I still think that its the climate there. I'm really tempted to learn Korean. I should enrol myself in a class.

Good night!

What Does Time Fly On?

Hisashiburi!!!!!!!

I'm not busy. I'm just bored. Hari Raya Puasa is almost over. I've still got no job. Its very frustrating sometimes. I'm staying at home most of the time but it is not without a purpose. I've been honing my gaming skills on the PlayStation 3. I recently purchased Battlefield 1943 on the PlayStation Network for about $21. Since it is a download-only game. And I absolutely love Battlefield franchise games.

This time, there's only 2 factions, and we can't choose. Each map has 2 rounds and we would switch sides after every round. There's 3 maps available plus 1 air combat map where only airplanes are allowed. Great to say, after purchasing the game for about a week, I've already achieved rank 26, which is the Senior Warrant Officer Gold.

Back to my social life, I went to this awesome place at Kovan for prawn fishing!! =)
We prawned the whole night till 5am. I was out prawn fishing last Sunday at Pasir Ris too.

I'm just too tired to go tonight. Since its my Mom's birthday, we had a family dinner at Seoul Garden, Tampines Mall last evening.

Next up, Hari Raya outing with my secondary school mates. About 20 of us are going. A big group nonetheless. In November, we're going to Batam to have an outing too.

So many things to do, so much money to spend.

Mon Dieu! L'horreur.

Have you been to Geylang Serai lately? I went there like, 3 days in a row. There's people. Lots of them. You can see them shopping for clothes, accessories, household items like carpets, curtains, cushion covers. It's like a huge non air-conditioned MBK in Thailand.

But oh the horror. Almost all of Singapore's Malay-Muslim community will be there. Like a friend said and I quote, "If I were to kill everyone here, half of the Malay community will be wiped out."

True to that sense, it's a place where all the Mats and Minahs a.k.a the Ah Lians and Ah Bengs of the Malay community congregate. They're everywhere! Whether its pushing a pram (shotgun marriage) or sporting tattoos all over their arms. I've got zero comments on the former but the latter is becoming more and more of a disrespect to the culture. Some even as far as perching on the railings like a pack of mynahs. That's not a compliment.

I don't think sporting a tattoo is cool and neither does the religion encourage it. You could easily tell whether the tattoo has been there for quite a while or its been just freshly inked. Even some youngsters are having them inked. What does it say, really? That they are not taught religion? Or it is just mere disrespect to the culture? Its not a minority I'm pointing out, it's everywhere and as a Pan-Asian mixed in this society, I'm fairly concerned about it. If they want to have the tattoo inked, then bravo. But have the courtesy to cover them up when you're walking in that area, at this time, during the Holy Month of Ramadhan.

I've got no issues with Mats and Minahs, same goes to the Ah Bengs and Ah Lians of the non-Muslim community. Its their behaviour and lack of social grace that's pointing the thumbs down in the social status.

Is this the kind of society that I will have to deal with in the future?

Why is it that the most significant population in prison or DRCs are Malay? Is it because we are like this? I seem to be doubtful. Even though, the professional bodies are reassuring us, yes, we are moving ahead. So and so has received this award, we are proud of him/her, as a result we are moving ahead. What gives?

If having another race gives my children more benefits than this, I would gladly and without a doubt, change it. It would be Japanese.

Ideally, I would have my children study abroad. What's the point of having a world-class education system when my very own society refuses to progress forward?

Honestly, by birth, I'm not Malay. I'm just mixed up between a Boyanese and Thai. Either way, my parents would still have me as a Malay because well, they speak Malay. After having meeting the higher echelons of society, I now realise how low we are.

"Are you a Chinese?"
"No, I'm not."
"Thai? Japanese?"
"No, I'm a Malay."
"Ohh, a Malay." followed by a -_- face.

That told me a thousand words. Thanks.

Being a Muslim doesn't make you a Malay.
Being a Malay doesn't make you a Muslim.

Are we destined to a fate as such? I refuse to believe this. Not as long as I can do something about it. You can count on it.

A Furore Not Worth Being Forgiven

Before I head off back to sleep.

Last night, I'm obscenely angry with this girl right here.

You have no right to interfere with other's affairs. Who do you think you are?!
And you go around poking at other people's business?
That's not my style.

I'm very frustrated. You think being playful everytime is ok? I'm sorry, I'm not that type of playful person who can play all day long. Why am I being sorry for? From the start, I knew that this would spell trouble. Now you know why I choose my friends carefully?

BE GODDAMN THANKFUL I have chosen you to become a friend. But you chose to cross the line between being friends and being personal. And I am a person who does not take this lightly. Who cares if I were to lose a dishonourable friend like you? The world is a very unforgiving place, and so am I.

I WILL NEVER EVER FORGIVE ANYONE WHO CROSSES THAT LINE. NOT IN THIS LIFETIME. Mark my every word. I'll not let this go. Never in a million lifetimes. Such is my hatred towards imbeciles who disregard my ethics. In my world, I'm King.

There's only 2 types of friends in my world. Either you are a best friend or you are the enemy.

And you stalk my friends? What gives? This doesn't give you the right to stalk and be merry about it. I knew that you liked me once, but FOR GOODNESS SAKE, you're not my type and I don't date girls with the likes of you; unshameful, scheming bitch. You heard me right.

JUST LET THE FUCK GO!

I don't want to have anything to do with you nor your country. And I'm not going to go there again. Who gives a shit about the place.

You want forgiveness? GO GET A RELIGION! I don't forgive sins, only God does.

You're not my friend anymore. I'm not sorry for meeting you. I made my decision and not one soul in this world can change my mind.

God knows you lonely souls.

Growing Up

I'm fairly disappointed at what the education system is doing to the youths. They are unbecoming. A hideous sight; spoilt brats have unmistakingly been pampered way beyond what I call comfortable.

Sure, you have to love your offsprings but doing every bit of his/her whim is getting out of hand. There is a very distinct line between teaching and pampering. You have absolutely no idea how I was raised. A childhood memory ruled by an iron fist. That what makes me value everything around me right down to the littlest things. It doesn't matter whether it is significant. Every little bit counts and none could be ignored.

Growing up isn't easy, especially when everything is centered around grades. Normally, if you're in the upper quadrant grade in the class, its pretty normal, as long its the upper half. I once got 16th in class and got the whacking of my life. I've been whacked by belts, clothes hangars, books, wooden canes, metal rulers. It was the Wild West of my childhood. Everytime it happened, which was usually after we got our record books, everytime without fail I would end up in swelling eyes and tears with marks across our legs.

Having grown up in that kind of environment, now, I have come to understand why he did that. I grew up in fear (and respect). That made me even more determined to achieve. So by the time i was in the last year of my adolescence, I got a 10th position in class, which was not all bad.

Its different nowadays. You rarely get to see that environment. Parents don't beat their children, but at the same time, they're not teaching their kids in the correct manner. Children nowadays are learning all the time. They got the information superhighway which we didn't have back in the days, they got television; the media, and they got peers. And they end up learning the wrong things and parents blame it on the education system in the end. It is a collective effort between the parents and the system. Bad parents equals to bad system. And they complain of not having enough time to spend with the children? Think then fuck, not fuck then think.

My style of disciplining? Beating up a child doesn't mean he/she will fear you. It'll just make them more rebellious. Instead, teach the child the proper manners, and teach well. Furthermore, children always listen better to their parents than teachers in school.

You can bet your balls I'll rule with the same iron fist that had ruled me throughout, beating as a last resort. No, I'm not uncivilised, they will thank me in the future as what I have done now.

Afterall, you wouldn't know hardship unless you've gone through it.

Spring Is Over

Spring cleaning time!!!!

I gave my room a *one-times-good-one* cleaning today in due course for Hari Raya Puasa. I rearranged some furniture mainly the wooden rack and a small cupboard. I changed the dusty curtain, cleaned the windows and mopped the whole floor clean.

I even brought a previously-used fish tank. In the hope of bringing some life into the room. I'm going to clean up the computer table tomorrow as well as clean up the wooden rack and arrange my PS3 and PC games instead of putting it in the cupboard.

I'm so tired after all that cleaning. I'm exhausted and my body is aching; the signs of getting older.

Hahah. Okay, good night everyone.

Delightfully Yours

I haven't updated for quite a while. I'm working as a temporary staff at The Body Shop Singapore. So far, its been 3 weeks since I started and got a hold of things there. Though, I'll be on off for the next week, I can't wait for work to resume the week after!

Its the fasting month and its 2 weeks and counting to Hari Raya Puasa. I've got some exciting news to boot too! My daddy just got a new car! The new Chevrolet Cruze. Its a 1.8L monster with a spacious interior and a handsome interior. This goes to show you can never go wrong with Daddy's taste. Although I was really hoping for a BMW or an Audi. Its okay! One step at at time. Once I graduate in 3 years time, I'll be able to afford those fancy cars.

Secondly, I think I'm in love with that girl. No, wait! I AM in love with her! That Aries girl. I feel very........ secure with her, somehow. And she knows it too. Its too rare for me to dish out a compliment as high as the sky.

Thirdly, I strongly believe that most Singaporean girls are materialistic, spoilt brats who can't really take care of a household even if their lives depended on it. Accept it, its the truth. The amount of ladies you can bed is how fat your wallet is. Don't agree? Would you be bothered if I told you that I have a million dollars? There! You don't feel it? Why would I lie? I never lie. They think they are superior just because they could afford that Burberry or Louis Vuitton designer bag which took a few months' wages. In my books, if you can't cook, don't bother looking for marriage. Its not like guys don't have a choice. Those who are the real jewels, the Orientals (read: virgins), are at home and out of sight of prying eyes.

Why do I even bother explaining.

I'm signing off yet again. by the way, the sweetheart is a Japanese girl. Don't ask why.

Save The Cheerleaders, Save The World

Last Saturday, a group of us went out to celebrate Fashiha's advanced birthday. I picked Aida up from her house since she had lots of things to carry. We drove back to Tampines to pick up the Fairuz, Fashiha and Zafirah.

The plan was to do some cycling at Pasir Ris Park, so off we went in search of some fun. We reached Pasir Ris Park albeit with drowning hopes of a sunny day. Dark clouds are looming towards the north. Nevertheless it didn't damper our spirits for a good day. Zafirah was complaining about her legs in pain. So we decided to get a 2-seater bike. Guess who was the one peddling? =P

About 20 minutes into the afternoon, it started to drizzle. Zafirah was saying how it was about to rain. True enough, a look beyond the horizon, we could see the rain curtain approaching the coast. Somehow, we managed to scramble back to the car with our bikes parked adjacent to it. And we opened up Fantasia 2000 on the TV screen. So much for the weather and watching a movie in the rain! We decided to watch a movie, but the timing was against us.

Somehow, my stomach was growling for food. So when they asked me where to eat, we went to Arnold's which was nearby and because I'm the driver!!! whahahahah!

Case in point, Zafirah indulges in chicken. So, the chubby cheeks agenda. She looks more...how should i put it.... chubby, perhaps. Well, because most of us has mostly maintained. She's grown.... at the wrong areas. whahahhahah!

We headed to Causeway Point soon after our meal. The Swenson's there has the worst service I have ever encountered. Firstly, they messed up Fashiha's name thrice! Then, there's the case of not showing discretion toward a surprise birthday party. (Don't they know what surprises are?)

After we had ravished the yummy cake, we headed back home respectively.

After all, it was a day well spent with close friends. =)
Subarashii.

The 3 Green Musketeeress.
I just love this photo, because I was the one who took it! =D

Yakka Doodle Doooooo!

I almost forgotten I have a blog. And well, I'm going to skip the Vietnam part because:

1) I can't be bothered to type them out here
2) I'm lazy
3) I got better things to do

I've been jobless, still. I went for an interview with Starhub a week ago, and still not yet received any call. So it is safe to assume that I didn't get the job. So I'm continuing my efforts of editing and sending out my resume. I've applied to the Ministry of Defence too. I'm hoping they would call soon.

It just have to last me till next year when I'm continuing back my studies.

So in the meantime, what have I been doing for the past few days?

I was out having fun. To put it bluntly, I haven't been home throughout the nights. On Saturday night, we were supposed to go Timbre @ Substation but there were simply not enough space for the 11 of us. So we went to Clarke Quay. And we got into The Pump Room; for free. HAH!

Noice. I like. =)

There's a live band playing, it's like a club a-la Phuture or Zouk or whatever, they do play nice music there. Its a one-off thing. I'm not a clubber, and not wanting to be a spoilsport, I tagged along which was pretty nice I think. I don't drink, of course, because I was driving. We had a 3 car convoy. Bobby, Tomoko and Chevy. Bobby is a 1-year old Honda Fit, Tomoko is a 2-year old Subaru Impreza and Chevy is a damn-old Chevrolet Aveo. You can roughly guess which is mine eh?

Kel's gone to Brunei for his Jungle Confidence Course and is due back 3 weeks later. Tomorrow, we're going fishing! If there's nothing on.

I need a job. Badly. I'm desperate. It's not about the money, its about keeping myself busy because I have NOTHING to do at home and it drives me to the point of exploding like fireworks on National Day. Brilliant.

Mwah! *kiss, kiss*

Adventures in Vietnam Part II

Day 2:
We went down to the dining area on Level 1 to have our breakfast. At 7am, it seemed way too bright and could be referred to afternoon. At the restaurant, oh the horror. Steamed pork. My gut just shrank at the smell. I don't eat pork and my friends too. We decided to have bread and toast with omelette instead.

At around 8am, the taxi picked us up to the docks where the boats were. We got into the boat where there were mostly Caucasians. Some of them were from Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Korea, Thailand, Ireland and France. So it was like all over the world. They were really friendly people I might add. Unlike Asians, they really opened up to each other, making friends and chatting up. Somehow, us Asians kept to ourselves. I have to admit though, their merry-making rubbed on to us and soon we were interacting and dancing and taking pictures. It was really memorable.

First, we toured the first island which had an aquarium. It had the common species of marine life so it was nothing really spectacular but it was enjoyable seeing the fishes. We headed back to our boat and our tour guide was one of the funniest, most kick-ass tour guides I've ever encountered. He really entertained us with his funny antiques and although he's a local, he could speak French, Korean. But, I'd reckon he picked it up naturally as a tour guide, he must've been in that profession for quite a long time. Its no easy task to entertain people well, I'd tell you that.

Next we went snorkeling!!! We saw little fishes and coral life. It was fantastic. Simply awesome. Hyder got his feet cut by the coral rocks because he actually stepped on one. A big LOL.
There were people doing parasailing on the platform we were on. We actually had to pay 30 SGD just to experience the 10 minute thrill. Not worth it but I guess its still cheaper than in Singapore.

Next up was our lunch. The seats were transformed into tables which our food was served. And it was alot of food! Seafood mostly. It was awesome man. After our lunch, they actually set up a makeshift drum set and guitar and hooked it up to the boat's PA system. How cool is that!? You don't get this kinda thing in Singapore. They played a few songs and even asked some of the people to come up and sing and dance. And best of all, we're in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful islands. There were other boats too, parked beside us, mostly locals who joined in the fun. After that, they set up a floating bar to the delight of the Caucasians. I don't drink. I just watch them drink. =)

We finally set out to a nearby beach which was something like East Coast, only a little more cleaner. And to actually walk on the island itself, we had to pay like what? 7 bucks was it? I can't remember. It was a 'private' beach and all. But I decided that it wasn't worth it, so I just stayed in the boat and snoozed off.

After 45 minutes later, we finally headed back to the docks from where we were from. We said our goodbyes and the horror!! We forgot to exchange contacts. And the couple which was from Canada was heading the same way as us; Back to Saigon city the next day. Bahhhhh.

We headed back to our hotel, booked the bus ticket back to Saigon city the next evening. We rested for about half hour. Guess where we went to next?

MUD BATH!!!!!! =D

Vietnam's taxi drivers got some skill, balls. At one point in time, there was a BIG-ASS bus and our taxi trying to squeeze in a village. The freaking bus was so close to the taxi and I cheekily put out my arm and knocked on the bus!! It was THAT close 'kay. DAMN........ they got some fine driving skills y'all. So we continued our way UP to the hot springs.

We got there, and lo and behold!! foreign price, 200,000 VND. Like they have special prices for locals? Which translates to roughly 20 SGD. Although they had a specified amount of time in the tub, we went overtime. So for the next 30 minutes or so, we were happy little pigs splashing ourselves in mud. If there were pigs there, I'd reckon they'd join us too. LIKE HELLO??? Mud is good for the skin!! HAHA! PIMPLES NO MORE, MATES!!

After the mud bath, we went to clean ourselves in mineral water (not the bottled ones, but water that has mineral salts). Then, we proceeded to the hot springs. Now you know why the Japanese have smooth, silky skin? They love the hot springs and they're good for the skin. My skin felt oh-so-smooth. And we went to the waterfall after that. We must've stayed there unknowingly quite long because at 6pm, the sky was already like it was 9pm. There were getting lesser people and we're one of the last few to leave.

Back to the hotel!!!!!!! And WHAT A DAY!

I caught a fever on the way back to the hotel. My body temperature was rising as I showered and went to bed.

End of Day 2.

Adventures in Vietnam Part I

Day 1:
I didn't manage to get any pre-departure flight sleep as I was busy packing my luggage 6 hours before flight. So by 4am, I was having a running nose. I tried to sleep, but to no avail. I went to bathe at 5.30am, got ready and took a cab to Sud's house where Hyder is going to pick us up to the airport.

At the airport, we were scheduled for the 7.50am flight on SQ 172 at Terminal 2. We checked-in and went to buy some hot drinks. We went to board the plane soon after.

The plane took off at around 7.55am. Reached Saigon City at 8.55am local time, which is 9.55am Singapore time. We went through Customs and collected our luggages. We exchanged currencies which I thought had the best exchange rate there. 1 Singapore dollar to 12,800 Vietnamese Dong.

Now, Vietnam is waiting for us!!

A guy approached us outside the airport doors, offered to take us to the city for 100,000 Dong per person, so that's about 300k Dong or about 24 Singapore dollars. We agreed without thinking because our priority was to get to Saigon Railway station. As we were on the way, we realised that 24 bucks for a taxi ride was ridiculous!! And it was our first 'ketuk'. Meaning got conned and being overcharged.

That didn't dampen our spirits as we reached the railway station. We were heading to the coastal city of Nha Trang (read: Nya-Chang, trust me, i know).
We got the queue ticket which had like 80 people before us. Hyder had the idea of jumping queue and so we did. And we got the tickets first!! HAH! Lucky!!!!~ =)

Our train was set to leave at 12.20pm local time. We would reach Nha Trang 8 hours later.

We had berth 5. A hard-sleeper cabin. I've no idea what that means between that and soft-sleeper. We went in and hard a rather difficult time climbing into our 3rd level and my 2nd level bunk. The train ride was long and bumpy and I had this Vietnamese lady who was eyeing me like I was some fresh meat off the slaughter house. Because she was sleeping opposite me, so we had eye contact several times. I switched on my PSP and went into my own world.
----

8 hours later in Nha Trang...

It was havoc at the train station, we got off and passed our train tickets to the person standing at the exit. We went out to the streets and tried looking for a cab.

In Vietnam, they use their horns incessantly, which is considered a rude gesture to us back here. There's not even 10 metres they would travel without sounding the horn, so you could imagine the sound when there's like a few hundred vehicles, mostly motorcycles, using the road.

We got a cab, like after some walking, and since we haven't got any hotel bookings, we decided to leave it to luck. We first tried Rainbow Hotel, FULL. The next one, FULL, FULL, FULL, FULL. When finally this motor taxi came up to us and offered us a hotel to stay in. At first we thought that this kind of people couldn't be trusted. Which of course, stands true everywhere.

We walked on and showed us the hotel, Golden Rain Hotel. It was just literally seconds away from the beach. We found out it was a 3-star hotel which recently opened 3 months back. It had a swimming pool, gym, sauna, a restaurant. A pretty nice place and for about 60USD per night, we thought, we didn't wanna walk anymore after being turned down at the other hotels.

We had no choice but to go for the Superior room as the Standard one was full. But, behold!
Samsung LCD TV, mitsubishi air-con unit, 2 beds, a hot water tub, Wi-Fi access and a fridge. It was worth it and we decided to stay at that hotel for an extra night. Since we hadn't had a decent meal since the morning flight, we got changed and headed out to look for a restaurant for a late night lunch and dinner.

We kept on walking and walking till we saw this restaurant. We just ate the seafood fried rice which was just awesome. We bought some dragonfruit back to the hotel as well.

We went back to the hotel to use the computers they had in the lounge to look for some fun things to do in Vietnam. There's this hotel receptionist named Mai, which we befriended. She spoke VERY FLUENT English. Trust me, she's good. We asked her about the attractions there and stuff and about the tours we could go. Thanks to her, we became quite aquainted around the area.

First Vietnamese friend. Ka-ching!!!! =]

Added on Facebook. Everybody has Facebook! haha.

And we went to sleep at 1am.

End of Day 1.

Good Morning Vietnam

I've been coughing non-stop for the past 2 days. I wonder if its the weather that's making my throat uncomfortable.

Anyway, I'm leaving for Vietnam tomorrow. My enlistment for Advanced Military Training by the 21st Vietcong Elite Guards Regiment. We're going to learn Basic Tunnel Digging & Tunnel Combat. Other than that, weapon-wise, we'll be trained to effectively use the AK-47 rifle, AWP sniper rifle, Glock 21 pistol & a pump-action Remington 870 shotgun. I'm also attending their 5-day long jungle survival skills course designed for prolonged guerilla-tactics warfare. Its an 8-hour ride from Ho Chi Minh city by train. It takes another 15 minutes of troop lift to the Tien Banh Training Camp.

i wish. =)

Flying Chronicles

"Ghost Lead, I have you in my sights, bearing zero-niner-zero. Your course is clear straight to the designate point Bravo."

Two pairs of F-22 Raptors entered Tokyo airspace seemingly unscathed by the anti-aircraft installations. Up ahead at point Bravo lies another two pairs of aircraft of unknown make and origin. (Actually we knew coz we saw it on the loading screen. And I'm just trying to make a story here. OK?)

"Captain Matriix, this is 1st Leftenan Beagle, I'm your wingman for today!", the guy chirped on his mic.

"Nice.", I muttered.

What are the chances of having 4 raptors flying in the same formation? WOOH! NICE.

As we turned on the afterburners, our targets appeared on radar, 4 bogeys, 23,000 miles and closing. My squad was assigned to guard the back rear of the formation, so called vanguard. So I watched as the other pair flew by. Just as I was about to head past the river, WHAM!!!!!

The lead raptor blew off!!! "Ta'Fuck was that?!?!" Somebody mashed the mic. Looked like he got killed by a barrage of rockets. Damn these guys are good. As we got closer, we noticed that 2 of them were 2-star Generals, 1 Captain, and 1 Leftenan and they were riding on Mig-32 SuperFulcrums and Mirages. Fuck I hate Mirages. They're so bendy and twisty but hell they're lethal. (read: VERY DANGEROUS.)

So, with the Major shot down, I assumed command. Captain Matriix. This rank, didn't come easy balls. You have any idea how I got this rank? Countless hours of play. Captains seem to be just another pawn in a General's eyes.

"Missile incoming!! Break!!! BREAK!!!!" Leftenan Beagle screamed.

"Beagle, shut the fuck up goddammit. I know how to fly this goddamn plane."

And he muted I guess.

I got a lock on the Match Ace. I fired 2 JSM, 2 All-Aspect and hell lot of cannon fire. You're going down sucker!! Just as I was doing some celebration stunt, that damn Mig-32 got behind my tail and drove a Radar-Guided missile up my plane's ass. It blew up like fireworks, instant kill.

So much being a Team Ace. I hate Mirages, period. I'm due for promotion to Major if I chalk up at least 15 more ranked matches. Its all about the pride as a fighter pilot. When it comes to flying, nothing else comes close. I love flying.

This country seriously has some issues. *points RSAF*

Disappointing Yet Again

Oh hello again. I'm exhausted.

I stopped by school this afternoon. Met some of my old lecturers, namely Mr Sng and Mr Shawn. We talked about some things in NS and everything post-graduation. I miss school, truely. (Read: I miss being a mischievious punk.)

I'm having this BBQ reunion of my former Sec 2 classmates tomorrow. Though I have to admit, the turnout isn't really that good. We gave them a good, solid 1 month to make themselves free; to adjust their schedules so that everyone could make it. Some don't even bother replying my messages. I'm too lost for words. Fine by me. Its just another wasted opportunity. And these people, just lost their credibility.

Planning isn't easy. That's all I can say.

Well, I suppose tomorrow will be a great day afterall. =)

The Way Of Life II

I almost had forgotten that I have a blog. I've been enjoying the company of friends through last week.

Now listening: Paula Abdul - Rush, Rush

I've been sleeping at 3am, and waking up at 12pm-2pm. Now that, is GOOD LIFE, my friend!
Wake up, bathe, eat, go exercise and become a Facebook & MSN hogger for the rest of the night. But at a cost of having no job and that translates to no income.

These late nights are not wasted. I've been brushing up my Vietnamese, surfing through Vietnam's history, looking for places of interest, what to do and what not to do there, etc. Its not easy but I don't plan in getting conned there. I'm not saying its an unsafe place, I just want to make it a memorable one.

Looks like its going to be a short entry for now, I'm feeling sleepy.

The Civilian Way Of Life

I think I slept too much till I got a running nose.

Besides that, I've been helping my mom's friend at the restaurant. I thought I could get away with F&B jobs. Its only for a while to occupy my time just till my Vietnam trip next month. Yes! I'm going to Vietnam!

After that trip, I'm going to apply for a contract admin job somewhere. Hopefully its somewhere nearby at Tampines Central. Someone said to me, "So you're going to be a paper-pusher?"

Yup! Definitely better than serving ungrateful customers. But since my last pay from the SAF this month, which ain't much, I'm currently cash-strapped. Living off scraps in my bank account, therefore limiting my day activities to just daily exercises.

I can't wait for the Vietnam trip!!!! =D

Hate Post

Disclaimer
You don't agree with me, don't read it. (I know you will.) If you're feeling adventurous, go ahead by all means. It's just my opinion and I'm not someone very influential, so why get angry? The truth hurts. But its time for a change. If you get what I'm trying to say, then good, be a successful person in life. It's always good to see a successful compatriot, God Bless.

---

Sometimes, I wonder why these children have no manners.

Why?

Because when you call someone's house, you say, "Hello, can I speak to [whoever]".

Normally, it is only polite to identify yourself as the caller.

Are they stupid? Judging from the voice. Typical Malay. I'm not being racist here, because I'm Malay. But I will be, because as of right now, my evening is not going too well.

Like I said, its only polite. Right?

This seemingly immature boy, called and said, "Hello, who's this?"

"Who are you and what do you want?", I was obviously pissed before I even replied. If its one thing I CANNOT, koto ga dekimasen, TAK BOLEH, tolerate is people who have no manners!!

And dude, I am not obliged to answer your question because of your lack of grace.

You know what the boy did after that? He disconnected the call. How rude.

I'm usually a nice guy and all, but to hell with him.

Definately, it's not one of my friends, because they always call me on my mobile, only close friends know my house number.

Now you know why I hate being a Malay? That bitch brings down the name of Malays. I'm stereotyping and an asshole for saying that, but its the truth!!! You don't like that, then that's your problem. Just look, is there anything proud to say that I'm a Malay??? No.

When I go outside and meet people, "Oh, you look like a Chinese. Ni hao?"

I give that blank look.

"Oh, you're not a Chinese, you're a......"

"I'm a Malay."

"Oh, a Malay....." and that face.

It says few million words.

I'm a Muslim. And I'm proud of that, yes. But being a Muslim doesn't automatically mean you're a Malay. I'm not a Malay in the first place considering my parent's heritage.

Those really typical goddamn Melayu. Especially those in ITE. GODDAMNIT, THE HORROR. That place is literally INFESTED with these cannot-make-it Malays. Now you know why Melayu tak maju? (Cannot succeed) Ya, can be happy-go-lucky, but cannot work hard. So, they become stupid and life has become their folly.

I'm not surprised by the statistics that the bulk of low-wage income earners are Malays! And the common whine I hear is, "Eh, why my salary so low? Wah, unfair!!"

What? Unfair? HAH!. You've become a joke of society, that's WHAT.

Dulu, biler mak bapak suruh belajar, degil.
Last time your parents asked you to study, you're stubborn.

Take a look around you!!!! TAKE. A. FUCKING. GOOD. LOOK.

For those Malays reading this, WAKE UP AND PROVE THE SOCIETY WRONG!!!!

We are being looked down by others can't you see.

Oh no, we can't. Why? Too busy having too much fun. Ya sure, smoke, drink, and fool your lives away. That's what you all are destined for.

Disagree? Prove me wrong. 'Nuff said.

As for me, I'm trying my best to prove that being a Malay and being with a Malay isn't a waste of time.

The Best Things In Life Are Sometimes Random

The hot weather is crazy! I've been sweating non-stop since afternoon.

Needless to say, which is why girls have been wearing super short shorts and spaghetti strap tops. The girls like it, the men love it. But that's not the point. Sheesh!

Its been a really laid back week. I've been doing alot of things which I think some of it is worth mentioning. I've been exercising! Swimming, running and doing weights again. Its time to beef up again since I'm really too free. And I've been enjoying freedom.

I got bored playing computer games. There's not really alot I can do on the computer. I've been buying magazines and books on investing though. I've yet to completely finish the books. It's been a long time since I sat down and read a book. My old story books sit in a box in a corner of my room waiting to be, I dunno, read again?

I'm reading up on investing in the stock market. I have a passion for this!! =D
But I won't elaborate more, as I'm still a greenhorn at this.

Oh, and I'm going to dye my hair, Platinum Blonde! hahahaha! Try try mah. I'm going to cut it off if its ugly. Ok, I'm going to stereotype here, if it fails, I'm going to be a dumb blonde at this dyeing thing. And my contact lenses are due to arrive on Wednesday.

I'm going to sleep!

Good night!

The War Cry

There will come to a time when I will say, 'Enough!'

That is when I have more money than a few generations down could ever dream of.
If that is what it takes, then be it. I will take that path. I will make you proud.

Unlike the flames that burn in fuel. This flame will burn in my heart forever.

I love all of you, but I just didn't have the courage to tell.

To my family, I will make all of you proud. =)

Just off the record, did you know what the famous Roman General, Julias Caesar, said when he overran King Pharnecas II in the Kingdom of Pontus in 47BC?

"Veni, vidi, vici."
"I came, I saw, I conquered."

Idol Of America

Tell me why, you're so hard to forget. Don't remind me.

A song from David Archuleta. Cute lil fella ain't he. He's voice is nice. But I'm not gay, so don't get me wrong. Its just a bummer that he didn't win last year's American Idol.

This year, why didn't Kris Allen win? That's a shame! What are the people thinking?!?!
EDIT: KRIS ALLEN WON!! YAY! =)

Pffft.

A Bowler's Chronicles

Help! My right arm has been abused! LoL.

Don't worry, it's non-violence related. I've been playing bowling for the last 2 nights/morning. I think I've found a new found love in the sport. Bowling is under-appreciated in Singapore. That's what I think. Most of the bowlers I see patronising the alleys are casual players. Though there are some who are mightily pro!

On Friday night, me and Sudiani met his cousin and friends, Hyder, Francis and Shahrul. We went to Mount Faber SAFRA Clubhouse to go bowling there. The atmosphere was awesome. Pro bowlers everywhere. We had a hell lotta fun I tell you!

The various hilarious names we made up.

Agent Tamil
Agent Eelam
Agent 666
Agent Damnboy
John Cusack
Enid Blyton <--- That's my name made up by Hyder. Enid Blyton plays bowling?!
Scrooge McDuck

FYI, Enid Blyton is the author/writer for the popular children's storybooks. That was a kickass name for a bowling name. And I won ALL 3 games!! WOOOOTS~

We went home at around 6am after picking up Sudiani's PSP at Poon's house at Marsiling. I went to bathe and slept like a log till 5pm! That was a record breaker! The last time I slept that long was back during BMT days.

In the evening, Sudiani called me again, said Kelvin wanted to go bowling. And off we went bowling again at Downtown East!! But somehow, I disliked the place there for some reason. First of all, the waiting time is uber long. We waited about 2 hours just to get a lane. The atmosphere sucks, honestly. Its just, NOISY. With a motley crew staffing the counters, they're really slacking.

We played till about 4am, waited for them to finish their cigarettes and went home at around 5am. Upon reaching my house, I bathed and continued playing Dynasty Warriors Strike Force on the PSP till 7am. And I slept till 4pm.

Nonsensical sleeping times, and a time like this, I'm not even feeling sleepy.

But I had a fun weekend!! Next weekend, secondary school classmates meetup. We're going to SAFRA Game Haven @ Carpenter Street. We're booking a private suite gaming room. There's 7 PCs and a console game in the room. I think its gonna be just awesome!.

Till then, a monstrous week ahead in camp. 9 more days to ORD, 5 more working days to go.

Sleep well everyone for it is a whole new week. =)

BeFrustrated Blitz

What is more annoying than missing the application deadline for University?

Playing 'Bejeweled Blitz' on Facebook.
I'm literally hooked to the Blitz version. I enjoy playing the original version. It is one of the enjoyable arcade-style games I've played so far. The top of the list belongs to Pac-man. =)
You didn't know I liked Pac-man did you!? Hahah!

This Facebook Blitz version has a 1-minute cap, so you really have to be quick on your eyes and mind but even faster with the clicks. Its quite a challenge I must say.

AND HOW THE HELL DO THEY MANAGE TO SCORE 6-digit POINTS????

On calculating the mean score per second, that's 2000 points per second. And considering you'll only get 400 per tri-pair. Unless you get lucky everytime and get 4 in a row which sometimes happen but then again, what are the odds. Unless there's chaining. My very best score was about 78,800. Some statistics I can ponder while at work.

Its frustrating rather than enjoyable. But I don't mind, at least it'll exercise my mind. Its been idling for the last 2 years. And c'mon, its only a game.....

(Plays a round)

AHHH, SCREW IT! I'm done here. It should be renamed as per title.

bye!! =)

OH!! ARR?? DEE??

I've got so much things I want to do but I've got not enough time or resources to accomplish it.

I know, I know. Time isn't a good enough excuse. Everyone has 24 hours everyday. What did he/she had done that I didn't within the same time given. FYI, on average, I only spend 4-5 hours per day sleeping. Thus the eyebags. Darn! They are ugly!

I don't really keep track what I do during the day. Thus, the term 'Army Daze'. (Army Days)
Its really frustrating. Sometimes when I get to read a book in peace, only to be interrupted by menial tasks. I don't really care about doing all the tasks but after completing them, I don't really have the mood to finish whatever I was doing before.

So, as a reward for all my hard work. For the whole month of June, I'm going to sleep extra hours and exercise more. I wanna catch up on swimming, football and gym. Just like old times.

As for academics, my application to NUS and NTU had been rejected. So I've decided to go for Curtin Uni or UNISIM. For Curtin, I'll be applying for the Bachelor of Commerce; Finance & Accounting Major. For UNISIM, my choice would be University of London, Degree in Banking & Finance.
However, I might change my mind. I've still got a year to think through.

Well, I've gotta start job-hunting afterall. Darn, I missed the application deadline again. So yeah, FYI, I'm feeling pissed.

Its A Man Thing

I bought 2 new games yesterday. A game for the PlayStation 3 and a game for the PC.

For the PS3, I bought H.A.W.X. High Altitude Warfare-Experimental Squadron.

A rather straightforward game. Be a fighter pilot and blow stuff up. Bomb ground targets and shoot air targets down while protecting friendly forces. Graphics are awesome from up above but not really that great down below. As I really am a fan of wargames, this is simply awesome.

For the PC, I bought the pre-order card for the Sims 3 which I will be collecting on the 2nd of June at the game launch at Iluma @ Bugis.

I didn't play the original Sims neither did I play Sims 2. So its a new game for me to try. I'm looking forward to play it!

In all, I spent $155 for both games of which I completed playing H.A.W.X the next morning at 4am. I completed the campaign on Normal mode. Now its time for me to complete it in Hard or Elite mode. As of current, I'm at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer IV at level 22. 18 more ranks to go till the top.

I'm a hardcore gamer. What can I say. =)
And I don't like losing. For The Win!!
It's every gamer's pride. Winning proves you're better than the other guys.

Oh, and Left 4 Dead is a kickass game!!!
Me, Sudiani, Arshad, Idayat, Syaikhul and Abdillah played for about 4 hours at a LAN shop in Meridien Hotel. I like playing as the Infected zombies. They are kickass zombies!!!

Bloody Test

I went back to camp for my blood test. It was uhhh.... okay I guess.

The medic said, "OK, put your arm on top here. OK. Good."
And he poked immediately without giving any warning.

Tsk, "Ta mah de!!, Can slowly or not?? PAIN LEH!"
The dude smiled. Much to my delight. I was joking around with him.

Personally, I'm okay with needles. But there are, to me, 2 types of women you shouldn't offend; The one good with needles, the nurse, and the one good with the scissors, well basically, the hairdresser.

After the blood test, I made my way out of the medical centre. Guess who I met? Raymond!! hahah! He had ORD dental FFI. I talked to him for quite a while. And we met up again for lunch at Bugis. Went around to Bugis Junction and Funan to take a look at games. Its been quite a while since i saw him and Anujot too.

Maybe I should go out and meet them on Monday, when its Vesak Day off-in-lieu.

I Want To Eat Ice Cream

I woke up at around 11am today. I'm on leave. Yay! What am I to do on such a day when I have the whole house to myself? Blast the speakers to loud music of course!! It felt great.

I bathed, watched TV. Studied Calculus. Studied Japanese. Talked to Zafira, well coz, no one else is online and she likes to tease and I'm always the victim. And my lunch? Some bread and a packet of uhh... last Sunday's mixed rice. Its in the fridge. And do I look like I'm in the mood to cook? If only I had a wife. Cook for me, says me! But I won't do that of course.

And at around 6.30pm, I went for a run. It was refreshing from being cooped up at home the whole day. I think I'm gaining weight again. Damn it. I'm doing something about it. By September, I'm targeting myself to be at least 70kg. i'm giving myself 4 months to do it. I'll swim, run, gym and eat. hahah. I'm serious. =)

Currently, I've reshuffled my priorities. And nobody is going to stop me.
---

Short Term Goal: Finish off my military service.

Short-Medium Term Goal: Wait for a place in a University.

Medium Term Goal: Finish off the degree.

Medium-Long Term Goal: Get a new car. I'm eyeing that BMW 335i Saloon. SGD$160,000. WOW! Or maybe that Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.

Long Term Goal: Get a management job in the airport. Let's face it, I love aeroplanes.
---

I need to focus. Once I focus, I'll get what I want. Yes, that's what I need.

"I'll show you an intelligence gap that you wouldn't even cover in a million years."

I really crave to eat an ice-cream, but I can't since I have to fast to take a blood test tomorrow morning. Bahh, wasted. I'll get you tomorrow, ice cream!!!!!

Don't Say It, I Didn't Say It. Did I?

I really had a bad day. Thanks for asking.

First of all, I had to cancel my half day leave today. Which kinda sucks because I was looking forward to going for a swim. But what to do? Put up my right thumb, place it in my mouth and SUCK!

Naturally, besides covering for Admin, basically doing shit paperwork. I still had to cover sentry guard. What The Heck was that?! It hit me right in my face. But that's alright. I sucked thumb because I had to cover for this idiot who took MC for 2 days straight.

But with all the fun-loving people doing the job with me, I had a rather enjoyable day. And it ended with a smile.

We had bought over 2,000 alcohol swabs and nearly 50% of it has been used during the first week itself. Insane! I didn't knew that the camp had THAT much visitors. They set up a tentage specifically for temperature-taking procedures.

There was this funny moment where I had the moments of a doctor.

Scene 1:

There was this Private which came in, he looked well. His temperature was 37.0 degrees Celcius. Perfectly normal. He was kinda blur for a Private. Since there was no one else behind him,

I looked at him and said, "You OK?? Been to any country overseas? America? Mexico?"

He replied stunned, "Uhh, no?"

"You sure or not? Come look at my finger. Follow my finger. That's it, good boy." *Moving my finger left and right*

"Uhhh. Ok."
---

It was entertaining to say the very least. After all, we've become part-time social health workers. DAMN PIG FLU. I don't care if they call it Influenza A (H1N1). Its still from pigs so the name FLU BABI.

Oh well, all in a day's work I guess. I'm on leave tomorrow. TGIW?

Wow, I'm so excited. I managed to express my anger WITHOUT using the word 'FUCK'.

The Revenge Of The Cocoa

Remind me to stay away from 72% noir cocoa next time. It got my body temperature high for last night, it got so hot in my room that I couldn't sleep.

The reason? Chocolate is heaty food. I presume its naturally good to eat before having sex! hahah. But its just me. Chocolate tastes good especially when you lick it off from a chick, but let's not get carried away. But I would DEFINITELY try it, someday. =P

Some call it aphrodisiac, I call it sex food!!!!! HAHA! Stop it!!

I had a shitty day just now, the next best thing besides being awful and sulking about it is to talk rubbish. But I'm not. I'm.... what's that word again?   Sexually-aroused.

Anyone can guess what this picture is, scores 100 points.

Anyway, adult jokes aside, I haven't been sleeping well last night. So I guess I'll be catching up on last night's sleep tonight.

I'm on halfday tomorrow. Gotta cancel Friday's leave due to HQ Cohesion. Going back camp tomorrow to settle the admin stuff. I'm really exhausted to think of anything else to do right now. Except than playing Mafia Wars in Facebook. =)

Oh, and today's Ericka's birthday. Happy Birthday to you, Ericka!! She's an adorable girl too.

Short & Sweet

Well, anyway! I've already completed my ORD quiz yesterday night. It took me a gruelling 3 hours to just finish the whole thing. It was pure concentration and sweating even I had the fan facing me. It was tough but I got through it with much effort. Whoever came up with the idea of a quiz must have been a sadistic animal. ばか。

I'm reading up my Japanese language again. One thing, its such a long time since I watched Japanese anime without the subtitles, and two, my vocabulary seems to be rusty. For starters, I've been watching Japanese variety shows namely, the Mechaike specials with the Morning Musume girls. The latter group is so adorable I tell you. I've not been keeping up with them since my secondary school days. I'm not sure about who's in the group currently.

Just Another Day

A rather not very fruitful day today. I woke up at about 11am. I went straight to the computer and went into MSN and chatted with Zafira a.k.a Feerella, ahahahah.

I bathed and ate my lunch which consisted of the morning's penne pasta. It was uhh....okay I guess after heating it up in the microwave. Basically I spent half the day talking to Zafira and watching TV.

Pretty boring. I didn't know where to go if I had gone out.

Well, she mentioned about finding 'chicks'. And the reason why I don't date Malay chicks. Its not I don't date them, I don't feel secure with a Malay chick, honestly. And to further that, I find some of them to be pretty demanding. Too much sometimes. I don't fault them entirely, girls being girls.

And the million-dollar question. What do the other girls have that Malay girls don't?

Honestly, I don't know. =/

War Has Begun

Its been a wild week. With this current flu outbreak, seems matters just got worse. Although Singapore is relatively safe with all the checks in place, I seriously doubt things are the same abroad. Its back to the SARS era again. Why is the world becoming a place for plague and disease? Its because of all the unclean people in this world. *POINTS*

The Ministry of Defence has upped the ante to increase the current Threatcon level to 'Yellow'. Which in my intepretation as a sign of escalating seriousness. All visitors, be it military or civilian, will be scrutinised for health declarations. That's where we come in. From being a military policeman to a part-time social health worker. How does that sound? Pretty versatile eh?

We're required to wear latex gloves, masks and equipped with ear thermometers with alcohol swabs and disposable caps instead of rifles and guns. What a sight. But its what needs to be done.

Why am I still up at this hour? Because I'm on leave today!! Long weekend for Labour Day. And I've just watched Friday The 13th. Which is I think, a typical American thriller movie. tsk tsk.

Oh well, I look forward again to an empty day ahead being at home, alone.

I need a girlfriend. Just for today. =)

A highly recommended video for the self-entertained. My friend chanced upon this on YouTube.
Its hilarious!! Watch it, you'll never regret it!! =)

The Pearl Of The Orient

This girl is the ultimate cuteness. =)
I guess I really can't run away from my Thai blood. Watch out, I've seen her type before, that girl is so dangerous, that girl is a bad girl. She's so dangerous, that girl is so dangerous, that girl is a bad girl.
Do you know why a chick wearing red looks oh-so-sexy? There was this scientific test done in the UK, I heard it over the radio. Basically, you can have the ugliest duckling wearing a red dress and she'll be an instant chick. Sounds amazing huh?
Anyway, I really think Thai girls are hot! ahaha. Screw Singaporean girls lah seriously. Don't have class, wanna act have class. That's stereotyping, but so what?! EAT ME bitches!.
I'm a free man now. Because you know why? 45 more days to the end of my military career.
Goodbye Singapore Armed Forces 11B, Hello Singapore Citizen Pink Identification Card!
Congratulations, you have been promoted to the rank of Mr.
Tomorrow, the dentist in camp is checking my teeth. ORD Dental FFI!

Sworn To Many, Loyal To One Part II

I feel very distracted, suddenly I found myself lost in a world of emotions. My head tells me to be happy but my heart tells me that its full of sorrows. Why do I feel this way?

A smile can hide a thousand sorrows. Its not me to tell everyone what I have been going through. But through my eyes, I could see the depths of someone's life. You could hide through a smile but your eyes deceive you. That is the reason, it is rare of me to look into someone's eyes and say honest things for I know it is true.

I dare not say what I cannot keep. But to you, a person whom I found unexpectedly, saying that puts you somewhere between the edge. Is it too much a sacrifice for the love lost? I wonder.

Do you hate me that much? It bothers me. You simply deny yourself to me. Saying things that you know are untrue. You gave me that glint of hope and yet, you're keeping yourself away. I don't understand you.

Sometimes, I do let my emotions rule my thoughts. Its only human. I'm not blaming it entirely on myself. But, COME ON!. GADDAMNIT. FUCK THIS BULLSHIT.

I'm not regretting this anymore. I repent. For all the bad things you have done to me, I forgive you. And for all the things you have given me. Thank you.

I want to sleep with a peace of mind tonight. Maybe you were not mine to begin with.

I wanna drink milk before I sleep. =)

No Title

I never expected this but it seems that you don't need me anymore.

The only comfort I have is to stand up against this adversity and never look back.

Good guys always finish last I suppose.

You never existed in my life. Goodbye, Gracie Rivas.

You'll never hear from me ever again. That's a promise I'll keep.

Maintenance Woes

After a long thought that night, finally I have bought myself a nice Western Digital MyBook Essentials 1TB external hard disk drive. 1024GB of computing bliss!!

Feel the space in between my fingers!!! Mwahahahaha!. The new shop at Tampines One had an irresistable offer of $189 whereas the Maxtor 1TB eHDD was $159. The former came with a pair of Ipod portable speaker worth $200+ and they gave a free sling bag too.

Now, I have all the hard drive space I need. No more buying of hard drives. Enough already. All I need is some time to sort out the junk in my 3 other hard disks.

My computer had been jamming up on me recently. I thought its because of my lack of free space which had only 300MB in its C drive. Now it has over 3GB of free space, its still jamming up. So I did what any layman would do, open up the casing. Just like an experienced surgeon, I flashed the torchlight into the belly of the machine. Checking for any signs of malfunction of the slightly outdated hardware. No discrepancies found. Or so I thought. Out came the cables connected to the chassis and I unscrewed the screws and voila!!..... Dust. The number one enemy of any electronics.

I swiped the dust away with the brushed and the vacuum. I used the 1400 watt vacuum mind you. After that I took out the graphics card, the fan had clogged up with dust. Brushed it clean and put it together again. I fired up the machine again, no P.O.S.T beep, so its gotta be hardware problem. I have the jitters when it came down to hardware. I don't really have the financial power to replace them myself. *Gotta ask Daddy & Mommy* haha.

But to save cost! I try to salvage the bloody fan. I fired up the machine again and found out the graphics card cooler fan ain't working. Fked up I tell you. I picked up the screwdriver and began pushing it causing it to spin and I gave it a good push.

If money weren't a problem, it'd probably be smashed to the wall. -_-"

So, now its working fine I hope. FYI, I'm salvaging a 7 year old machine. I've maintained it well I suppose.

Telltale signs something is wrong with your hardware, the computer reboots by itself repeatedly. Its a mechanism the BIOS employs if the internal system gets too hot. If the computer slows down but doesn't jam, it probably gotta be the RAM, HDD, CPU or M/B overheats. In my case, the GPU overheated. I touched it the night before and found it unusually hot.

I have put Project Silent Aegis into place. Its an ambitious $1,500 plan to put an entry-level supercomp. That is all.

She's Hot But The Weather's Hotter!

The weather is so hot and humid nowadays, even taking a trip down to the supermarket without the car is like sweating through a 2.4km run. Even WITH the car with the air-conditioner turned off, its going to be a sweaty ride.

And yes, I'm complaining. Why? Because its very hot and I can't wait to plant my ass in the snow.

Part of me says I'm fair-skinned, part of me says I'm burnt. Oh the horror of looking at myself at the mirror in the bathroom every morning. I see PT kit singlet burns. But I digress.

That's why we must go green! Haha! Burn less fossil fuels and use more green energy. Oh, did you turn off the lights during Earth Hour last Saturday? I sure did. Coz why? Coz I was out from my home!! Gwahhahahahah.

Actually I'm always having Earth hour during the weekdays in the day, I'm not at home and everything's off. Which is a good thing coz I'll be able to cut down the electric bills.

Not that I'm paid to do Earth-saving work, I'm just being a civic-minded citizen. (But yes, I do sleep with the air-con on every night). Guilty as charged. *WHAM*

Alright, I've taken my medication. I've to go to sleep now. Drowsy medicine makes me sleepy.

*DUH!?*

Good night Little Miss Gracie. =)

Choking With Anger

This week has one of the most frustrating weeks ever.

One of them being.

"Sentry to Guardroom, message over."

"Guardroom message, send."

"Can one of you replace me for weapon sentry, I need to go to the toilet!"

"Ok, roger."

In the Guardroom:

"So who's the weapon sentry for the previous detail?"

Wasn't me so must be the other guy since there were only 3 guys.

*Points*

"Eh, go and get your weapon and replace the sentry for a while."

"Don't want ah, now raining, later sick then tomorrow I take MC how?"
and he walked away.

*Me and the other guy gave that WHAT THE FUCKKK? look. like seriously, WHAT THE FUCKKK?*
---

Now you know why we call him 'Damn dog', 'anjing', 'dog'.
People need help, he's being calculative. Taf' fuck?

My mind's going nuts. But thankfully, I have a bunch of goofy workmates. My work is not really what I call a relax vocation. Its damn routine. But if it really comes down to the people I work with, this person is not really the colleague I'm interested to have.

In fact, almost the whole camp condemned him. He's just living in the workplace through our superior's grace.

Enough!!!! I need to let some steam off. I'm 'choking with anger' too you know, not just American President-elect Barack Obama.

I wonder how he de-frustrate? Take a flight to somewhere quiet. Afterall, he's got the whole country to himself! I'm just gonna sit in my room and listen to Beethoven's 11-minute 9th Symphony.

Support A Greener Earth!

I changed my blog colours in support of Earth Hour!.

A green touch would add nicely for the months to come. Seems like going towards a 'greener' environment is catching up fast. Why not be in it eh?

Reduce plastic bag use, recycle papers and reuse toilet papers. Oh WAIT, I'm kidding on the last part. How can you reuse toilet paper? -__-"

My Unit has set up a biking community, there's a whole bunch of us that are interested in cycling. Me included so I'm going to get myself a brand new bike. I'm going to get that $600 GT 3.0 Avalanche with disc brakes. Its a mountain bike, though I might consider getting a road bike which is more expensive; up from $1.6k.

I'm doing up the notice board again. Remember the last time I did it? It was last year in January. Darn. Gotta print it all over again.

The Imperfect Apology

I think she hates my guts. Gracie and I had a little misunderstanding yesterday night. Well, an innocent message really turned out into somewhat an unintentional dissension.

Its mostly my fault. I wanted to give her a message this morning, but I think I'll let the matter cool off abit. I don't want to ruin an already bad monday blues.

I mean, what the hell was I thinking. I knew she didn't like it but I just had to test the water. Well done Zaini. Not only have I made her uptight, I've made myself miserable today. >_<"

I'm not really good with apologies. My heart sank with what you told me yesterday. I hope its not true. I'm wondering what is wrong with me? I guess being ignorant about that doesn't help much. Its bothering me that much lately.

But let me get this straight. I would NEVER EVER betray the trust we have.
I believe in honour and chivalry. You have my word as a man. And something that I can never ever explain to you in words.
You just mean the world to me right now.

Gracie, I am sorry.

Patawarin mo ako.

Hello Mr Sorrow. I'm Sad.

I feel so cheated. Not to say the very least, disappointed, furious, sad.

I don't know what to say or think or feel.

Why am I emo-ing like a chick.

What have I done to deserve this.

If loving you was a sin, Dear God, forgive me for I have sinned.

But tonight, I will sleep with my heart full of sorrows.

Road To Recovery

I'm here to update again. Alot of things had happened the past 2 weeks.

First off, I would like to mention one of Warrant Officer who had died. Second Warrant Officer Lim Kian Hong, you will be missed. Rest in peace, Sir.
As part of your honourary farewell, I was in the firing squad to give you the 3 gun salute.

It was a rather unfortunate event.

Next, I fell sick soon after most probably because of the weather. I couldn't get a good night's sleep and I would feel miserably tired the following day. Last Friday was the last straw, I went to the polyclinic and asked the doctor for some sleeping medicine, which he can't prescribe because I have no history of insomnia. Whatever man!! haha.
He gave me an 'extra strong' flu pill instead to help with the drowsiness.

It worked but my whole body ached like mad on Saturday. Then just today, my Mom recommended me to call her masseuse to come to the house. Which I requested too this morning because I just couldn't endure the pain.

The massage was excruciating. Can you imagine a small, petite lady making me shriek out in pain out loud? I was really in pain, but as it went on, she had straightened out my nerves. I was okay soon after I got used to it, now my whole body is covered in the massage oil. She's good, honestly.

Now listening to Alesha Dixon - Breathe Slow
Nice song, I got the Cahill Club Mix and I'm hooked!

Tata for now!! Yiiipppyyyy!!!!!

Great Balls of Fire?

I need sleep, damn it. I slept only 3 hours last night coz I reached home at 5am. My sister woke me up at 9am to go for the parent-teacher meeting. Fugged tub.

Went to parkway parade to get a SuperexpensivehairCuts. SuperCuts lah. $31. wtf?
I kept falling asleep while the lady was tending to my hair.
And I went home, just as when I was about to doze into wonderland with no one else to disturb me, Mom called to ask me to pick up the car. GAHHHHH!!!!!! PISSED.

I dragged my heavy head, bathed again and got ready to go out feeling ever so pissed.

And when I don't have enough sleep, I'll be agitated. And don't ever nag at me when I'm agitated, I don't like it. And when I don't like it, I will not even sputter a word.

Okay, I'll go sleep now. I'll write about the somethings that happened last week. Alot of things happened. Damned week.

With Pride, We Lead, SISPEC!!!!

Both my arms are aching like mad!!!! My biceps and triceps feels so tight and tense!!!

Thanks to the 60 push-ups-without-muscle-conditioning done during IPPT training last Wednesday. Just to explain in a clearer point of view, my arms can't bend lesser than 90 degrees towards my shoulder. Its the lactic acid secreted in the muscles. I can't touch my face without guiding/forcing my arm to do so.

Now, a simple thing like taking off and putting on my uniform becomes a real chore. I can't tell the difference between grinning and groaning in pain when I'm brushing my teeth. Just now, I had Mingda unfold my uniform collar. I feel like a disabled person with the loss use of the upper limb. But, fortunately I can still type on the keyboard without much fuss.

And with doing duty yesterday, it didn't help much, I couldn't salute properly neither can I swing the truncheon.

This reminded me of my Basic Military Training and SISPEC days. Live to enjoy the pain. It makes us feel human and alive. Honestly, (secretly) I kinda like the pain I've been tortured with. Military training made me a sadistic bastard. Well, almost. Just that my pain tolerance is quite high. I'm not complaining, though my mom wanted me to go for a massage. The pain will go away eventually, but the feeling is up there! You know, there are people who thrive in the presence of adrenaline and lactic acid. That's me. =)

"We, ah, oh, ah, Infantry, yah!"

It's My Life, It's Now Or Never

I've been in a bad, bad mood recently. I noticed now, that everytime at this part of the year, I will feel very agitated, angry, easily getting annoyed or feel the need to be angry. Its part of the cycle.

During the months of September through December, I would feel rather happy. End of the year happiness but the blues of the early year. Oh, whatever.

I've been keeping to myself alot lately too. I just don't feel like socialising or whatever. I want time for myself. I find myself more towards an individualistic style of life. I like the freedom, not having to 'report' or 'check strength' to anyone at night before I sleep.

But life in this Army, is just too exhausted. Its 10pm and I gotta hit the bed soon but I still have things to prepare for the next 2 days, I have 24-hour duty tomorrow and will not be home and continue till friday.

This afternoon's IPPT training was okay, since it was raining. We couldn't get to time our run but we did statics under the training shed instead. The usual routine of push-ups,crunches, bridges, silent jumping jacks etc. Everyone do it without counting out loud, so it means we have to count on our own. Several restarts if anyone does not stop together.

My arms feel so sore, I have trouble lifting up my bag without saying, 'Aiyahhh....'
Si bei shag lor. But what to do? Lan lan suck thumb la boy! Got people rank higher one. Haiyahhhhhhh.

Unit's Anniversary

Yesterday was my Unit's 31st Anniversary since its formation. Pictures will be up @ Facebook soon.

The day kicked off in the afternoon at West Mall, at Bukit Batok, watching the movie, Valkyrie. The second time I watched that movie but it is a very good movie so I don't really mind watching it again. And not as if we had a choice. The whole theatre was booked at roughly $2700!

After the movie, we had a free and easy session with our friends. At about 5pm, we headed to the Civil Service Club @ Bukit Batok for the anniversary dinner. We had 3 Muslim meal tables, an idea of how many Malays are there in my camp, out of a total of 28 tables. Each table seats about 10.

There was a magic show performed by a magician(duh?), there were some cheer competition among Battalion HQ, and the three depots. And since we're the only combatants in camp. PES B and having combat allowance, we're under Battalion HQ.

It was a fun show! The food was okay, being in a fancy restaurant and all. Good job! =)

A Night Out With The Boys

I just woke up man. Feeling a little bit sore on the back and neck. I was up till late last night, reached home at 4am, bathed, waited till my hair dried while playing Burnout Legends on the PSP and I fell asleep. Thankfully I remembered to turn out the lights.

Last night, I went to Timbre with my NS buddies, Sudiani, Firdaus and Mark. Went out for drinks. (Damn, I never thought I would use that word). And no, I don't drink alcohol. I went for the mocktails instead, Shirley Temple!! hahahah!

The queue was so freaking long we ended up standing there for 2 hours to get a table. It was an open pub concept with a live band playing, Shirlyn and The Unexpected. They're good!!! The vocalist was just simply superb and the violinist, the lead guitarist, the bass guitarist and the drummer. We're going there again, soon.

The pub closed around 2am, we waited, smoked and talking cock lah. Mark was already high with only 3 pints of Heineken. He was funny I tell you. He made damn lame but funny jokes, they're funny because the way he said it and how the way we laughed at it. We had a good time, seriously. We have to bring some chicks next time. Err, girls I meant. But its supposed to be an innocent night out. I rather go out with a girl alone rather than with a group.

I'm going out again at 2pm. We're going to celebrate a secondary school classmates' birthday. We're going ice-skating and then to Secret Recipe for some makan. And I don't know the rest of the plan.

And the best thing is, I'm on mobilisation manning alert standby this weekend. Have to be back by M time+4 hours back to camp. That sucks. Hopefully we don't have the activation.

Ok, Ready, Steady, Go!!

The Turn Point

I'm still up, after settling all the application for University admission. I've decided to go through either NUS or NTU. SMU is way out of my league.

NUS courses:
1) Arts & Social Sciences
2) Business Administration
3) Business Administration (Accountancy)
4) Computer Engineering
5) Computing

NTU courses:
Economics
Aerospace Engineering
Computer Engineering
Linguistics & Multilingual Studies
Psychology
---

All that's left is to post my supporting documents to NUS' Office Of Admissions. AND PRAY HARD, at least I get one of the choices.

If all else fails, I have one last bastion. I will pursue an airline career starting with enrolling in the Singapore Flying College where I'll be attending ab-initio training for absorption into commercial cadet pilot training. The cost, more than twice the fees for an unsponsored University degree, for 1 year plus of flight school for a Commercial Pilot's Licence and a frozen ATPL. And 2 more years for that coveted ATPL to become a First Officer.

I have a love of flying since young. Aeroplanes have always been my passion and cars too! I initially had applied for the Youth Flying Club but failed because of my eyesight. I need to go for LASIK soon. I've been planning up some things for the forseeable future.

Honestly, I'm not cut out to be a lawyer or a doctor or an engineer. I don't argue alot but I have an interest in History, neither I am interested in Science but I did surprisingly well in it during my secondary school days, neither am I good with coming up with new ideas to engineer.

Okay.....
My mind's all set. Plans have been laid out. Decisions are made. Waiting for time to execute.

This is it. This is the defining and critical moment in my life.
Ready, Steady, Go!!!!

A Hot Summer Day

I watched quite a few movies recently. Honestly, they are good.

1. The Wedding Game (the chick flick)
2. Yes Man (the funny-ass movie)
3. Valkyrie (the history buff movie)
4. Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans (the second sequel)
---

Enough of the kissing and hugging and more kissing. Like I need that, really. This movie has its funny moments but seriously, enough. Its too much drama for a movie that claims to be a comedy-romance. If I was the director, I'd probably look at Liang Po Po's sequel or I Not Stupid's prequel.

Ahh, yes. The funny guy. He's really funny. This show has some of his best moments ever since The Cable Guy. Lots of things happening and that oh-so-lovely American romance. But I'm not into Caucasian chicks so go figure.

Sieg Heil! One of my best subjects in high school was History. I studied German's past and oh how I love it! It's not about his vices that he had committed, but its about the story of how a man could take his country from the ravages of the Treaty of Versailles to become one of most feared country who could mobilise a military might unrivalled even by the Soviets or French in the era.

Vampires who could rule over humans. Action-packed thriller but not as intense as Lord Of The Rings' epic battles. Though the acting could have been better I suppose. (i'm not an actor, what do i know.) Its not a bad movie considering it has its predecessors to thank and because I have already watched it, so its not a bad movie. Whatever man, I think I got some issues.
---

So as me and my friend was eating at this joint, there was this particular waitress. She had a mature look to her which oozes appeal. (What kind of sick person would go after somebody's Mom?!). We didn't see a ring so as we were talking about her, we kept looking at her. Well, she's tall, slender and has a nice smile but c'mon! She's Indonesian lah I guess. Gotta be man, we're in an Indonesian restaurant! Out of nowhere I blurted out, 'She's got a pornstar face. Screw it, get her number.'
Which we didn't after that, fortunately.

Another one, there was 4 of us in the room. It was quiet and the TV's volume was turned down. One of them turned to the guy sitting alone and said, 'Would you rather CSM suck your dick or you suck CSM's dick?'

And he replied without hesitation, 'Sial la, CSM suck my dick la.'

And we looked at him, obviously bewildered by his rather spontaneous reply.

And we said, 'DAMN DUDE, YOU'RE SICK!'

That was that. We laughed it off, eventually.
All in a day's work. But for now, 109 days to ORD loh!!!

Money Makes Me Miss My Missus

I feel so tired. Last Friday's IPPT training was just that tip of the mountain. My whole body ached through the weekends.

Sprint 400 metres (1 round around the stadium track) in less than 2 minutes. For SIX freaking rounds! That's 2.4km anyway. No friggin way I could've made it that far, but I made it! Add to the fact that I haven't had sprint training since my SISPEC days. I have come to love running. Its quite enjoyable actually as a group. But I would want to run alone. It sort of clears my mind for that time. If I don't run in camp, I would take a jog at the park connector route at the back of the blocks.

After that, I'll do some pull-ups and side-swings on the monkey bar and some sit-ups for some good stomach exercise. Once I get home, dry myself, switch on the air-conditioner, take a shower, dry my hair and SLEEP! MSN's pretty boring. Everyday, I see the same people online. But I do talk to some people who DO bother to reply the messages.

I've done up a Weekly Exercise Routine which I intend to strictly follow unless:

a) I'm talking to Gracie or/and ............. or/and .............. (fill in the blanks)
b) I'm extremely exhausted
c) I reach home late
d) PS3 gaming session
e) A good dinner
f) I'm lazy

For that last part, I really have to discipline myself. I've to shed some weight lah. Ever since I'm posted to Unit, life has been pretty good!!! except for the occasional 'screwing' by the 'upstairs people'. Other than that, its quite boring leh.

Message Of The Day: Saving money for the future is important. Spend money purposefully, not carefreely.

I got to sleep early again. I only slept for 4 hours last night. Later sleep late again sure got pimple on the face. Good night!

The Sun, Sand & Women

I love women. I'm a guy, its in my DNA.

Add to the fact that I find girls wearing g-strings super sexy. Save the lace for bed. Imagine this, a girl wearing a g-string in a tight sheath dress. A killer. And no thick cosmetics please. I hate girls wearing thick foundation with blushers and whatever not. A blush is good enough.

And that girl is so dangerous.

In the car, children in the front seat will cause an accident. Accident in the back seat will cause children. Don't get it? Read again, its in English.

I love children. They're so...innocent.

Between work and family, which would come first?
Think of it, your work gives you income. What does your family give you?
If you said WORK, go away. You shall not be my friend. Family comes first, no matter what. I believe in a good, solid family values. No point if a person is beautiful in appearance but have very bad moral and family values.

Honestly, I dislike a girl who smokes, drinks and clubs for all her life is worth. Unfortunately, that's the case now isn't it. Self-value is no longer a virtue but a vice. But I gotta admit, some girls who club are absolutely hot! I digress.

I want a daughter. haha!

Life-Changing Decision

University application has opened this month. I'm feeling the blues already.

Its time to start oiling my dendrons again. It has rusted through the 2 years spent in the Army.

The courses that I'm looking at
  • Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Economics
  • Business Administration

NUS,NTU or SMU? I'm thinking hard!

Good Boy

We're having a CO Change-Of-Command Parade tomorrow. We've been rehearsing the parade over and over and over and over and over and over again. Looks like its going to be a really fruitful one. I'm going to keep my eye on this.

This weekend, I really have been a good boy. I stayed at home but didn't rot thankfully. I've shifted the bed and some furniture in my room. It looks pretty neat now. All that's left is a hell lot of old clothes on my bed. Now the number has risen! I have over 70 pieces of clothes and that excludes the jeans and trousers and three-quarter pants and what have I. I've been called many names and nostalgic is not one of them. Haha!!

Today, in the evening, I went out with my family to the Giant Tampines and Courts Megastore. My dad was looking at TVs. Though, I don't really see the reason why. We already have that gigantic 60" projection screen up. I was out there dishing out my knowledge of the TV's. Promoter job maybe?! I can't be a salesman la honestly.

I'm quite taken aback by the tactics these big market players are using. Now, they offer interest-free instalments. So that the lower-class income earners could afford expensive things. Take for example, an 24" LCD TV which costs around $1,200. Pay by cash upfront or $100 every month for 12 months or $50 every month for 2 years. Pretty affordable isn't it? If it was that simple, how would they be making money then? As what I saw, now they don't go through banks which what was done previously. Banks charge a hefty 24% interest per annum. *Crackpots*

Now they simply loan out in-house credits. Meaning now they give out their own loans and the what the customer does is to just pay what amount is needed. In this way, not only will they take up new customers, there would more faithful customers returning to purchase more products. A sound and solid strategy. A win-win situation for both business and consumer. But, in this fair trade, I would really think it through if I were to take up by instalments.

By principle, if I can't afford it yet, don't buy. There would be better times ahead. Need vs necessity.

Anyway, I can't wait to ORD in June. O-R-D LOH!
3 more months!!! YIIPPYYYY!!!

The Year Of The Ox

Happy Lunar New Year to all!!
Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Seems like this year, we have a long weekend for the New Year. The good: long weekend. The bad: shops are closed for 2 weekdays. That's a bummer.
Looks like I'll be spending my time at home then.

Anyway, my parents bought new furniture. A black-leathered L-shaped sofa set for the living room and a new cabinet rack for the home theatre system. Since my dad changed the speakers, it'd look nice with the new furniture.

In other news, I'm about to choose my course of study in a University next month. Once the 'A' level results are out. Nisa asked me to go to the various Unis to scout for courses. It should be okay i think. I would apply for leave then.

I've been thinking of what I wanna do in future. Once I graduate, I will buy a house. A landed property. For myself and for my family. Then I will work up through the ranks and I will buy myself a nice car! like.... the Audi R8. I really LOVE that car. I MUST get that car. I don't care how old the car will be by the time I could afford it. I WILL buy it!

For the forseeable future, my first car I would wanna buy with my own money would be an Audi. That's my drive for my goals.

My mind's all set.

Ready, Steady, GO!

What I'm Doing

I've been down with flu the last 3 days. Wednesday was the worst.

Come to think of it, I've had a bad week. First about the car then about my colleague then this flu. I hope it ends here and now.

You know that colleague that I was talking about so vehemently? Well, he had struck the final straw. He splashed some syrup water on me!! He's on my hated list with #1 written all over his face.

Anyway, enough about work. I've been rotting my life away at home and since I can't go out while on medical leave. So, its 24 hours at home. Not that I'm complaining, I did manage to find time to dig out my old stuff from the cupboards and put my poly lecture notes in it. Clothes are my worry too. Either I have to find a bigger wardrobe or throw away my clothes. There's this saying; "New clothes make you look good, Old clothes make you feel comfortable."
I'm not sure whether to throw them away or just stuff them somewhere.

Oh, we're having a picnic tomorrow, organised by my ex-classmates of Sec 2E4. The downside, all the boys are not confirmed except me. So, it'll be 5 girls and 1 guy. So I think, maybe we'll have other plans. I'm equally excited though.

I'm tired. This medicine is making me so. I'll just lie down for a bit.

A Kitty Cat

Our workplace has a new pet!

This afternoon, a small kitten went past the sentry guards and made its way into camp. A cutie! It was lost I guess and it was a newborn. Its vocal chords weren't developed yet. I've always wanted to keep a kitty cat. mmmm.. =]

I was pretty excited. ahahahah. Coz it was soooo cute! It kept meowing and meowing and it was scared, displayed by its raised tail and its fur tingling. It calmed down once it was near evening. I gave it some pineapple tart crumbs and it ate. awwww~ so cute!. mmm.....

Okay, i gotta sleep man. I hadn't had a good sleep last night. My body's still aching. WOW!. hah.

Home Sweet Home

About my Thailand trip. If I could stay forever, I would probably would. How could I not?

I hadn't uploaded the pictures on FB yet. Why? Because I admit, I procrastinate alot.

I went for the Thai massage which I didn't go 2 years back. Remind me to get a masseuse for a wife. Dang, it felt super nice. I melted. Especially when she was doing my shoulders and the back part of my neck, I wiggled gleefully. Okay, I'm ticklish in that part like when I had that wash and haircut in Malacca. That lady knew somehow, she playfully massaged me there. Pffft. But it was nice. =)

We stayed near Baiyoke Sky Hotel, Tower 2. So it was kinda near for us to walk to the main shopping district. It was about 10 minutes walk and taking a cab would result in circling one big round the block.

Some things have changed since the last 2 years. Most of it didn't. There were the same buildings, traffic is always bad. But one of the things I like about Thailand is the people. They're so warm and friendly and nice. And I like nice things. (and because I have Thai blood too)

We didn't stray far from the city, partly because it was so inconvenient, with all the shopping and stuff. The usual places like Siam Paragon, Central World, MBK. Then we have the night bazaar and the weekend flea market.

And for my not-so-fluent Thai, we were thankful everything went off without much hiccups. Everything from bargaining to telling orders to telling directions. Sure, we got lost once but that was it. I can talk in Thai, but I can't read it! It's so..... difficult. We walked most of the time, taking in all the scenery, essentially, it's almost the same as Singapore because it is in a city.

About the people, well, I like Thai women. They're nice! I fell in love with one. ahahaha. I'm not saying who. Singaporean girls can't really match up. What I think is that, Thai women, they are modernised but still retain their thousand-year-old culture which I find really pleasing.

In Singapore, I think we have an identity crisis. A good example would be the people living in North America, particularly. But over here, we have a good mix(read: unbalance) of Malay, Chinese and other social races. We have become entwined by the various mix of culture. I abscond it for certain but there's nothing much I could do about it. And its not like we stay in the culture, we make it worse by mixing it with Western influence.
Well, enough about it, Singaporean girls are just disgusting. 'nuff said.

A good example would be the shop sales assistant test. We went to this shop in a high-end retail shopping mall. They have a Lamborghini Murcielago for sale. So we went in to take a look. The sales girl greeted us warmly much like any shop assistant would in Bangkok. They put their palms together and bow slightly. Its nice. We then asked her about the car that was on display, and she described intently even though her English wasn't half bad about the car. And we asked her some questions like, 'Have you driven it?', 'How fast can it go?'.

She even opened up the door to let us have a look inside and said, 'We don't usually open up the car.' And we're like, 'Wow, thanks! Means alot to us.'

If it was in Singapore, seeing how the way we're dressed (not that shabby and we're in smart casual, just that we didn't wear branded clothes), I don't think they give a damn about us. Hear that Singaporeans? Shame on you. Boooooooo.....

I even think Malaysians are just better at providing services.

Time went by so fast there. And we still looked like sex tourists. Eventually, one of the nights, we did looked for prostitutes. At 1500 Baht, I guess its cheaper there. Back here, it would be around $80 without hotel! Waste money lah.

Honestly, I'm a virgin. And I think its cool to be one. I don't understand why everyone competes to lose it so loosely. I'm not the type to go for prostitutes either. Nice to see but not to touch. And I don't believe in paying money for sex. It's very....... not right. That's my policy. =)

And even then, the prostitutes there are Thai and NOT China women!

That's that for Thailand. So much things to see, so little time. We're gonna go back there this coming April hopefully if everything goes as planned. But I'm not sure, I had planned to go backpacking in Japan with Raymond. hoho!. We'll see. But I would want to go to Japan. =)

Go out and explore the world! If only money wasn't a problem....
