Lean, Mean Fighting Machine

i'm logging in to say hi; i'm tired. physically and mentally.

first of all, i had regimental guard duty yesterday. today, i still continued doing my job. i've not let my feet breathe fresh air for nearly 38 hours and i think i've got foot rot. i didn't change my uniform and whatever i'm wearing for that same amount of time so imagine how i smell.

i only had about 5 hours of sleep because of my ignorance. i was supposed to have slept in the morning but i didn't because i don't like and can't sleep in the daylight. amazingly to the point that my colleague said, "Eh, i feel very uneasy because you are not sleeping. don't you feel tired? you don't look tired. go sleep!"

but i smiled and refused.

you see, the Army has conditioned my body to be tough. seriously, i feel tired but i don't feel like stopping until the job is finished.

in other words, i'm a lean, mean, fighting machine!
hahaha! just joking, of course.
i'm not a Commando, i'm an Infantryman.
Infantrymen are the most 'relaxed' people of all. =P

by the way, some people have commented that i looked 'tanned'.
its part of my job to get a tan albeit darkened skin.
what's my job again?!

REGIMENTAL POLICE
a.k.a RP a.k.a 'Russian Police'

right then, tomorrow is IPPT!
i must get a pass, if not, there goes my promotion.

i'm going to have a good night's rest. =)

Baby Craze

i really want a baby girl. haha.

the other day at Yishun i saw this little girl, barely 4 years old i think, walking with her mummy. the little girl was so adorable with her pink dress, pink ribbon tied to her hair and shoes.

to be honest, i melted.

so for my 21st birthday, i will wish for my very own baby girl!.
there's one problem. i would have to get married first. from what i know, the endowment i have to give the parents to marry a Malay girl now would be around or at least SGD$10,000.

to a Chinese girl, maybe more.
to a Japanese girl, ehhhhhh, questionable. i'm not really sure. must ask Saori.

just to get married. like hello!?!? that's excluding the whatever things for the reception!
oh and don't forget the honeymoon. it'd add up to..... maybe SGD$25,000 for a simple Chinese-style wedding?

i'll excrete bricks from my bottom before i could even dream of going for a dream holiday or having any children. but then again, undying love is worth living for.

sidetracking a little bit, now you can roughly control the gender of the child by controlling what you eat for breakfast. i heard it this morning on radio. they were saying, the mothers-to-be ate a high energy diet, researchers found out that out of 470 mothers, 56% had baby boys. vice versa, if they ate low-energy diet, like in a modern cosmopolitan, women tend to eat low-energy diet which in turns explain the low birth-rate for boys. a-hah!

okay!

I Love You

you have a place in my heart.
there are no words to describe how i feel.
you are the angel in my eyes,
and i can't live without your smile.

you are the flower that brights up my life.
always there when i needed somebody to run to,
you are the moon that lights up the night.
will you be mine?

By Hook Or By Crook...

in a separate entry.

i was thinking; after NS. i would be about.... what? 22 years old.
man, that's old.

i'm planning to work first for about 1 - 2 years. so i would be 24 years old when i start University.
man, that's super old. to start schooling that is.

i would finish my degree in 3 years if everything goes well. so by the time i get my degree, i would be 27 years old.
my God. that's old to start working at that age.

depending on the savings i have, i have calculated, with accuracy up to the 80%. i would be married by the age of 30 at least to have a stable job and income.

30 years old! man, that's way too old to get married.
i don't mind marrying now actually. i'll have to set aside some goals i've set then.
with a diploma cert, i could get well over $1,600 per month. but is it enough?.
it worries me greatly. i keep thinking about it during the long bus rides to work and back.

what i planned before was to get married at the age 25. so i'll have to pass a Uni degree?
i've seen a 28 year-old Army veteran taking a degree. so what's the problem?

it lies with time management. so i'm thinking now, i should get married first and then work while taking a part-time degree.

it pains me to see my female peers get a headstart in a University education. while they are completing their final year of Uni, i'm just starting to start afresh as a civilian and as a Freshman. i know a few girls who are my age and completing final year this year in Uni!
JC students lahh. and they're like 3 years ahead because of the 1 extra year i spend in Poly and 2 years in the Army.

IF........

i don't work after NS, i would be 22 years old and i would complete my University education by 25 years old. and??
just nice an age to get married. now that's a reassuring age. 25 then i would have my degree and would start work. if my partner is working, then it would help, certainly.

on average, a degree holder earns at least $2,300. if the significant other is holding a degree as well, total gross would be about $4,600. that's per month.

breaking down the expenses, a 3-room HDB apartment in the East costs around $290,000.
$4,600 is just enough to hold that flat and plus the rising cost of living here. in other words, there's not much income to support a car.

a car with a 10-year loan which costs an average $70,000 will take about $800 per month. that's excluding the road tax, parking fees, petrol, insurance cover and ERP charges. totalling up, it would work around to be $1,300 on average. that's just on the car alone; a modest Honda Civic sedan.

this is just on average. its pluses or minuses are not accountable.
so $4,600 - $1,300 = $3,300
$3,300 - $1,200 = $2, 100 (before income tax est.)

looking at the bleak outlook of inflation and going by the CPI (Consumer Price Index), the value of Singapore's currency is dropping. again, for the uninitiated, say you put $1 in your bank account this week, the next week, you'll find it worth only 99 cents. of course, its not to that extreme extent. for such a minute amount, you won't be able to realise it, but its happening.

they're not telling to the mass media really. it'll cause mass hysteria and cause banks to lose even more money because people would want to take out their savings because the interest the banks are paying doesn't justify the rising inflation.

i've seen a few people packing up their bags to migrate. which is not a bad idea really.
Singapore can either become a First-World country or a just a poor nation. there's no other way.
the middle-class is taking all the barrage from the price increases as the Government extends its support to the lower-class. using who's money i should add? the middle-class of course!!

the GST Offset package we're getting. do you really think its a surplus? yes. they give you 20% but they still have 80%!! so who loses? of course its us. FYI, the GST offset is OUR money. OUR tax money. they're just 'giving' us back. what a cock-and-bull story. and they made it till its sounds so alluring.

anyway, i sidetracked a little. so say i get married at 25 years old. there's no way i'm taking a loan to get married. roughly, at 26 or 27, maybe i'll start to think about having children.

having children means that the missus would have to spend time taking care of the little toddlers. which in turn means that she'll have to stop working. the finances would then be halved!. for that kind of expenses, i have really no idea working about it. all i know is that when delivering the baby, the hospital fees would be about $7,000 for a package if i'm right.

wah, $7,000 dig from where??

don't even start with the honeymoon.
---

i'm already greying my hair over this. oh, which reminds me. i need a haircut; always need to maintain a high and defined standard of regimental discipline.

Educate, Encourage, Enforce.

Random Thoughts

a tough week it has been. time to take a breather during the weekends.

there's a million things on my mind right now. i need to pen some of them down. i need a PDA!

1) next Wednesday, IPPT in the morning and CO ceremony at Nee Soon Camp in the afternoon.

2) 6AMB HQ cohesion at some place they're not sure where on the 9th of May.

3) Mother's Day is coming in May.

4) USMS thing.

5) Guard duty next Monday.

6) i've to make new spectacles. (my current is really out of whack. it has alot of scratches on the lens due to jungle warfare.)
---

that's only part of what i can think of as of right now. i need a PDA!! but i'll just use a notebook instead maybe.

okay. that's settled. just now on the bus i saw a familiar face back when i was in SISPEC last year. he was one of the trainees for the CSM course. he's a Military Police, Staff Sergeant. i thought i had recognised him.

today's lunch was good. one of a kind and once in a purple moon. (if you thought blue moon is rare, wait till you see a purple moon.)
it was fried rice with fried chicken and satay!
that's rare. we used to get food that are rather peculiar. for example, we get white rice, fish in sweet and sour sauce, chicken in curry, some weird vegetable that i can't identify. it looks so sickly that i just feel sick by looking at it.

but you know what, all we can do is just to suck it all up because we are hungry. i've eaten a far worse meal in the jungle so for that i'm grateful that i have a rather proper meal.

recently, i've been really...... paranoid. it makes me feel uneasy. i don't know what to do.
actually, i don't want to even think about it. so shoo! go away!

coz everytime touch, i get this feeling and everytime we kiss i swear i could fly.....
need you by my side...
want you in my life...
---

i'm getting more random.

speed limits! yes. i've yet to break the 180km/h barrier. i will someday. there will be a moment, with an inline-4 engine, that i will not be able to accelerate; meaning i've reached terminal velocity in the medium i'm travelling in. the not-so-recent escapade i had with the 165km/h was a real experience. eh, but i tell you, the engine starts making this cranky noise, i thought the engine was about to pop out of its bonnet.

put in a turbocharger for the high-end torque coupled with a supercharger for low-end torque, a wastegate for excess burnouts plus an aftermarket intercooler. it makes a monster ride out of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.

in January this year, Nissan launched its Nissan GT-R (R35). jaw-dropping performance for a $165,000 price tag for a Black Edition. 0 km/h - 100km/h in 3.6 seconds flat. 20-inch tyres for max grip and an AWD drivetrain.

with a twin-turbo V6, it makes a Lamborghini's V8 looks like a child's toy car.

i want a sports car! haha. i want a Nissan GT-R!

okay, its time to sleep. i've to stop dreaming.

"We're Darth Vader Guys!"

an exclusive entry. the entry of the Gas Chamber of Choking.

its only 20% tear gas. we were briefed on the safety regulations that we had to adhere to. we put on our MOPP 4 and went to the chamber. before entering the gas chamber, we tested the effectiveness of our mask by using peppermint oil a.k.a 'Horse Urine'. (what a name.......)
if we could smell the scent, means our face masks were not properly sealed.

then it was time to go in. its a small room with a electric burner in the middle with two mess tins for the tear gas tablet. we stood in a circle surrounding the electric burner, they put in the tablets and poof! the room was filled with smoke. i could smell the ammonia even with my MOPP 4 secured. i was panicking but i didn't do anything.

the feeling was as if you are running 2.4km by breathing through a straw. imagine that, that's how we felt. and i could smell it burning the insides of my nostrils. it smells like....very very very concentrated ammonia. NH4 (2-).

so after a few exercises they made us do, we were to open up our hoods and let our necks and the sides of the face be exposed to the gas. it felt cooling at first but when the ammonia reacted, it felt as if a million red ants was biting through your skin. it is VERY painful. my face and my neck felt like being bitten and burned at the same time.

the thing is, we're not supposed to even touch our skin much more scratch. the reason being, the chemical is reactive to water.

then, we are to queue one after another starting with the person who came in first, then i thought again, i was the last person to enter the chamber!!!!!

jia lat. i had to endure at least 45 seconds of that sensation before.........

taking off my gas mask completely and saying out my NRIC number and my rank and name.

the moment i took my mask off, my nostrils burned even more, my face felt like there were a gazillion ants biting but i didn't open my eyes because the tear gas would irritate it real bad. so i played it smart; or so i thought.

after saying, "(saying in a fast manner)NRIC number S87xxxxxE, (saying in a stuttering manner) Private........ Mu...hamm.....mad Ru...zai....ni"

i opened my eyes just a little......a little bit! to see where the exit door was. wrong move.
the tear gas burned my eyes!!!!!! i couldn't see, tears came out of my eyes, mucus started flowing out of my nose. it was painful.

Seth got some pictures of me coming out of the chamber crying. i was crying okay!.
it wasn't intentional. they don't call it Tear Gas for no reason.

and that was just 20% concentrate. imagine what 100% can do. it was a good experience though. i felt pretty much relieved after i regained my composure. i felt the after effects for about 5 minutes.

so next time, we'll know what to do and how it feels like, when we hear, "GAS! GAS! GAS!"

I Think, You Thought. Who Confirm?

last Saturday, me and my family went to my aunt's house.

my dad had wanted to go and fix some stuff up. and so we went in the afternoon. there's my youngest cousin, she's 3 years old this year i think, whom i have not met like since ages ago. i think she had forgotten who i was and since because i am the eldest among my cousins on my father's side.

initially, i think she's like scared la! because well, do you feel at all at ease with someone whom you've not met in a long while? i'd think so.

eventually, she warmed up to me like giving me the kueh on the plate and as i was sitting cross-legged in front of the coffee table and the TV, she sat in between my crossed legs and watched Spongebob Squarepants. she's soooo adorable i tell you. haha.
cheh, what can i say, i have the charm eh?

i'm really sure i make friends with girls easier than with guys but maybe i shouldn't comment about that. that would be bragging wouldn't it?

one of the rarest moments in my blog's history that i blog twice a day and within 3 hours. honestly, i'm bored. i feel like driving around but nobody seems to be available to tag along.
i haven't eaten dinner if that is at all assuring. now that i've typed it, i feel hungry. hahaha.

so i'll eat, play a game or two maybe on the PS3 or on the PC. it depends. and then off to sleep!

life is bliss if you live it simply. and i just love it.
---

eh, which reminds me uh, Melanie.
she messaged me. again.
and told me, "Hello, i think i'm pregnant."
i'd jumped off the building.
i wish.
i think she's joking but i think i'm just being paranoid and stupid.
stupid SMS made my heart leap a thousand paces. i deleted it.
trapped me again.

i couldn't be possibly get married? oopsy.
i'm just being paranoid. lalalalalalala.
if cannot, i'll cry tonight. it makes me feel better.

good night!

Face Masks On, GAS! GAS! GAS!

GAS! GAS! GAS!
today, we had CBRE theory and practical. simi CBRE?
Chemical, Biological, Radioactive & Explosive

basically, we had lessons on what is CBRE and what it can do to our body. its a disgusting, inhumane way to fight a war. so therefore, its banned to use bacteria-based or toxin-based agents in a war; in accordance to the 1948 Geneva Convention. was it 1948? i'm not sure.

so anyway, we were introduced to the Individual Protection Equipment; mainly our MOPP suit.it stands for Mission-Oriented Protective Posture.
basically there are 5 levels of MOPP.
MOPP 0 - MOPP 4.
it looks like this.

SAF uses the canister placed in the middle.
what the canister does is to filter the air that you breathe in. if the canister fails, you'd die a slow, horrible death.

what we were taught was there was 4 categories of CBRE warfare
namely:

1) Nerve Agents, ie. Vx Nerve gas, attacks the nervous system.

2) Blistering Agents, ie. makes supersized blisters on your skin upon contact.

3) Choking Agents, ie. it thickens the moisture membrane in your lungs till its full of water. (also called 'Dry Land Drowning)

4) Blood Agents (i forgot what was the real term so i just called it 'Blood'), ie. poisons your blood so you could die in 3 minutes flat.
---

realistically speaking, the suit is as hot as it gets. ever saw the movie Jarhead?

when the instructor went into the soldier's bunk and shouted, "GAS! GAS! GAS!". the soldiers tried frantically to put on their MOPP suit but failed within a minute's countdown.
they were playing rugby with that suit on under a 40 degree heatwave.

though, i have to say, when i had the face mask on, i felt like Darth Vader.

among other things, what we learn is nothing short of simple but it was an interesting course.
tomorrow, we'll be going to the gas chambers and trying the suit for real!! that's gotta be interesting. i'm looking forward to it. hahah!

and i like to shout the drill, "GAS! GAS! GAS!"
its damn cool man. so am i lucky to be in the Army? =)

My Happy Family Day

today is such a beautiful (but hot) Sunday.

what day is today?
today is Family Day. just like any other Sunday actually.

one of the principles instilled since i was young. that's the reason i try not to arrange any outings with friends on a Sunday. i mean, look at it this way, you spend the whole week working, come back late from work and hardly have any time to spend with family members; its just not right if you couldn't spend a Sunday with the family.

i had the car all to myself today! so i became the driver. i mean, literally; the whole day. its quite fun learning the roads. especially my Mum. she's as good as a GPS if not better. hahahaha!
the roads are actually pretty good, if not for the inconsiderate drivers and those annoying traffic lights. i had to be a 'safety' driver today. can't speed = sian half.

in the morning, we went to Ang Mo Kio to eat breakfast. the food was quite nice really. its a Banquet-esque style. after breakfast, we went to the family doctor because my Mum had to get her medicine and then we headed off to Ikea.

i like Ikea. it has this cozy feeling to it especially the furniture area. i could spend the whole day because.... PARKING IS FREE.

next, we went to Geylang Serai, guess what we bought? Durians, a.k.a 'lew-lians'.
it was put in the boot, but past experience had taught us that the whole car will still stink of it.
and we ended up winding down the windows and switched off the air-conditioning. it helps to save petrol too.

next! we went to Bedok Reservoir to fetch my Mum to Sheng Siong Supermarket at bedok Reservoir to do grocery shopping. only after that we went home to put away the smelly durians. we went out again!
this time to have dinner at Bedok. that's not the end though, we went to my Grandma's place after dinner to pass her some stuff, well its actually durians. haha.

i'm just so tired from driving. i drove like close to 250km today. now i know how a taxi driver feels driving the whole day. sheesh!.
but hey, its Family Day!
so i don't really mind. =)

now, i've got to prepare the stuff needed for tomorrow's Chemical Defence Training. its a 2-day course. i need a new set of uniform! as if having 5 sets of it isn't enough.

alright, have a good night.
もう いちどう、おやすみなさい。

Dinner At ARC

good morning Singapore!!!

today is the 19th of April 2008. and it is really a good day to take a stroll around the neighbourhood in the car. ever since i started playing back racing games on the PS3, my driving skills have been becoming more insane.

my favourite quote is, "Horn Spoilt, Beware Of Finger!"

that's classic.

i don't have any plans for the weekends anyway. it sucks right?
and the best part is, i don't remember what i did during the past weekends.

anyway, yesterday, we had our HQ MES appreciattion dinner at Ayer Rajah Camp which was at Portsdown Road near Queensway. it was a long drive.

the dinner was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall. the MPH was quite big because it was supposed to as they were hosting over 1,000 people!!!
i saw my ex-classmate, Sofrie. i saw my RP coursemate too, Marlon. he's the RP for Ayer Rajah Camp. and all the Enlistees, Specs and Officers from 1 AMB, 3 AMB, 6 AMB, 9 AMB, HQ MES and OETI.

food. well, the food was good actually. but to feed that number of people, i'd guess they should've catered more. it was chaotic. we literally had to queue about 20 minutes just to get food which is ridiculous. there were no chairs to start with, everyone was standing. there were small table tops for people to put their plates on and eat.

drinks, they seriously didn't think it was enough right?!? there were more beer and wine than juice drinks in the containers. the place reek of beer actually up to the point my face had turned red from the heat and smell. my colleague even asked me, "Eh, you drink ahh???!"

the function had finished at around 8.30pm. some of us had wanted to go back after we ate dinner but we were told we could be booked by the guards if we were caught leaving early. i'd reckon we'd receive 5 extra duties. stupid rule right????

the thing is, it wasn't that amusing. they just sang songs and just kept singing on the stage for at least 1 and half hours. most of us got bored and left the MPH to go to the Mess where the air-con made us feel we were in heaven. eventually we got shoo-ed back to the MPH because of the thinning crowd.

my colleagues got so sick of the songs that when the MC asked, "Do you all want to hear another song?!!!"
one of them shouted, "NOOOOOOOOOOOO." in a tone that sounded really sick. and everyone glared at him and went laughing.

i reached home at about 9.30pm after sending 4 people home, reason being, i sped all the way. i was so tired. i slept before 12am! power lah.

have a nice day people!

My Dream Army

my dream army.

12th Division/ Space Infantry,
21st Space Command Regiment,
1221st Space Marines Battalion,
1st Ace Coy

it moves down the hierarchy.
from Division level right down to Company level.

my Division would don the pure white beret and pure white uniform. there are no ranks, only appointment.
Enlistees would go through a five-year BMT phase followed by their various appointment training.
more fearsome than Commandos, more tough than Guardsmen.

yours truthfully,
Your Lovely 12th Division Commander.

The Monday Morning Girl

listening to Easy by Paula DeAnda.

i'm not sure how longer a beating i could take by clocking only 4 hours of sleep every night when i do 5km runs in the morning. what i plan is to make up sleep on weekends, that's what most NSF would do; sleep and hibernate during the weekends. i simply can't sleep during the day no matter how hard i try. once i wake up in the morning, that's it, my whole system refuses to shut down unless i really had no sleep the night before.

before enlisting for NS, i usually would wake up like 11am? thereabouts.
but now! i'm like waking up like 5am almost automatically. the latest i've woken up was 8am and that was it. i would force myself back to sleep but i can't.

oh! and... this morning, i had an "extra-ordinary" ride on the bus to work.

i was kept aroused by the girl that sat beside me. maybe i'm just that lucky.. or unfortunate.

it started when i was at my house's bus stop. i waited for the 6.30am bus as per normal. (considered quite late actually). so when the bus actually came, there was this Chinese girl, about 1 or 2 years my junior who rushed in the bus just before i boarded it. so naturally, i had a friendly nudge and like hey-what's-your-problem look. as luck would have it, i was standing facing her in the bus. i'm like, oh c'mon!!! why of all people. but it doesn't matter. the girl kept glaring at me at the corner of her eye. i saw it i swear!!!

so when the bus reached Tampines Interchange, i briskly walked to 969's bus queue and waited. as the queue snaked and i ended up facing the queue and guess who! it was that same girl. ITE Yishun. like duh.

she was like one person behind me. i dismissed it actually and thought nothing of it. and again, i saw her glaring at me. i'm like i-don't-care-do-whatever-you-want-i'm-late-already.
when the bus came, the back seats were quickly taken up so i had one of the front seats. i sat on the inside seat next to the window because i like to see cars on the expressway passing by.

so when i boarded the bus.....
guess what!! the girl, that same girl, went to rush in and sat next to me.
*KE-DOINK!*

i'm like WWWHHYYYYYY YOU AGAIN!??!?!!!. OK FINE.

i really got uneasy. i sat with my arms straight and looked like a real idiot while donning that poker monday-face. i thought, "crap. what the cut. what is she trying to do ah?"

again, i just minded my own silly business of looking at cars passing by the bus on the expressway. it was the shortest ride to Yishun ever. possibly.

as the bus got on to TPE, i felt quite squeezy in my seat. not because the seat was small, but the girl was sitting way too close to me. i stole glances again, and she looked at me. and smiled.

HMMMMMM.

at first, her arms kept rubbing against mine. i thought it was the rough road, but cannot be until the expressway what! so, she purposely lah! kaoz. i felt dumb.

but honestly, it felt good.

then, her legs started to move in. i'm like what-the-heck!?! but at the moment, i didn't pull away, and honestly, it felt pretty good.

there i was with a stranger, in a bus, who was giving me a near orgasmic pleasure????

i was like an idiot really. why? because i'm in army uniform!!!! if i touched her, how? if she shouted "MOLEST!". i tio kan liao. kena charge. Regimental Police some more. my charge will be doubled!!! for the uninitiated, i could be spending about 1 - 2 months in Detention Barracks; which will not look good on my records.

and she was doing that to me all the way till Yishun!!!
but she stopped once we entered Khatib town.
i really had an idiot face on.

once the bus reached Yishun MRT Station, she looked at me. i looked at her. she smiled at me, i smiled back and she walked off into the crowd.

haha! omg, i told my colleagues at work. and what did they say??

"YOU DAMN LUCKY B******".

on a sidenote, i'd like to say, "damn, she's good."
it was my shortest ride ever. honestly.

now, on every bus ride, i would probably be thinking of her. haha!!

Stop Stoppers!

i hate it when i'm walking behind people, and then the person in front just suddenly stops without warning. i just hate it and when you actually bang into them and apologise, they'll just give you that, 'buay song' look.

i have to admit it, my angry days are long gone. my views are resolute. it doesn't change the world but it changes the way i live.

and for some reason, i like it!
whenever i'm angry, i take a deep, deep breath and think of all the things that makes me happy.

if that doesn't work, frankly speaking, i will literally turn into a monster.
mmmm, what kind of monster? maybe Godzilla. definitely not cute little teletubbies eh? (i used to love 'em! cute little things.)

earlier in the day, a fellow soldier was so pissed off at the two guys making such a ruckus that he went up to the toilet door where the 2 guys were, he punched the door open and shouted something in Chinese which said, "WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING!? WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?! CAN YOU SHUT UP!?"

talk about being very direct. sheesh.

and when he came back to the smoking corner where we were, there was dead silence. nobody dared to say anything except to puff the cigarettes. we had the feeling that he was feeling way over the top.

and we all went home.

i cannot lah, i cannot be angry. i'm always in a good mood. i'm always so happy that one of the sergeants went up to me and said, "Why do i always see you very happy one?"
i just simply cannot be angry for some reason.
maybe i'm firm, but i'm not angry.

for you info, being angry makes you look old! haha!

so guess my age? i was told i look like a 17 year old. but nevertheless, even the auntie asked to see my IC at 7-eleven. i couldn't help but give a cheeky grin.

oh yes! speaking of grin, there was this girl, who took the same bus as me this past week. she was, unnoticably pretty. i couldn't help it but steal glances at her as she was sitting at the seat which was facing the back of the bus. as the bus went on into the 30-minute journey, i just kept doing that and finally she caught me. and guess what!?!!!

she smiled at me and looked coyly outside through the window. gahhhhH!!! i digress.
it wasn't looking all that good.
i can't imagine i just flirted in army uniform!! hahahaha! the wonders of a smile.
i lost her in the insane-crowd at Tampines Interchange.
i was thinking of something like, "Your place tonight baby? or mine?"

if you're a guy who works in an all-boys environment, you'll understand. but seriously, urrrrggghhhhH! wasted. why am i even thinking of it.

i would've.....................? (you know, i know lah. its quite obvious isn't it?)

eh, why am i talking about this thing ah?

there and done! my hair is dry, i want to sleep so that i could hope to wake up at 5am the next morning. which i usually overshoot sleeping till 6am sometimes. shit happens, but not that often.

i am a tired soldier. i need motivation. why do i feel that i'm always yearning for you huh?
i like it though. =)

Michelle called me to solve her computer problems and its now 11pm. i may have to sleep on the job tomorrow. hurhurhur. Michelle! you owe me one. my brain is sleeping ironically and i went like, "Ummm....yah....okay....ummmmm.....yaaa......mmmmmmm....."

good night!

We Were Battlefield 2 Soldiers

my Advanced Trainfire Package (ATP) shoot scores were atrocious!

i barely passed.

why did we have to shoot with M16 rifles? why can't we shoot with SAR21 rifles? i'm SAR21 trained too. the condition of the range itself was very bad. at night, 2 chambers were not usable because of technical problems.

shooting does remind of something. Battlefield 2. wuuuuuuu.........
ahh, i still remember the good old days when i was still a young but dangerous sniper. (haha!)

Ben, Lemuel, Hadi, Zhi Hui and Zhi Da.
Ben, the Medic and Squad Leader.
Lemuel, the Support Gunner.
Hadi, the Just Another Sniper.
Zhi Hui and Zhi Da, the Twin Effects.
ME, the Young And Dangerous Sniper and Pilot.

we would buckle up into one of the Armoured Personnel Carrier and head straight into battle. i remembered once i was driving this transport helicopter with my teammates at the back heading for the enemy's aircraft carrier. i was flying low but quite fast actually. then, it happened that an enemy fighter jet was chasing me, locking on with his missile. so i thought, i think i could evade the missile and the guy would not have a clear shot since i was flying relatively low.

but NOOOOOO.
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP BEEP BEEP..... BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!

BOOM!

the helicopter blowed up in flames instantly earning that guy 5 kills!!

i watched in horror with my mouth wide open and stared at the screen for 15 seconds before i got into battle again. come to think of it, i honestly had forgotten to deploy the flares. sorry guys! that was 2 years ago.

after that, i had formed the next generation of warfare with a new team of hotshots.

namely:
Me, again, the Young But Not So Dangerous Sniper and Pilot.
Lemuel, the Veteran.
Raymond, the Tankie.
Anujot, the All-Rounder.
and Cherry, the Talented and Skilled Teamkiller.

unbeliveable.

if there was i remembered was playing this Spetsnaz map. we were fighting against each other in different teams. i was one of the Special Forces holding the C4 waiting to ambush some tanks.

along came a lone tank cruising down the road. guess who. Cherry! haha.

i snuck up behind the tank, quietly placed some C4s. and ran away to hide. she drove the tank unknowingly around the map after killing so many of my teammates. and i said, triumphantly, "Cher! Cher!, watch this!"

BOOM! her tank exploded into oblivion. gahahahhahahahhahhhahahh!.

anyway, i was looking through some screenshots we took while doing some extreme stunts in Battlefield 2.

whoever it was in that plane in front must've been one unlucky soul. the plane blew soon after.

look Ma! no hands! the epitome of stunts; flying under the bridge upside down with afterburner.
a classic example of how 'bo liao' we can be.

this is me flying a F-35 JSF fighter jet; take a closer look and you can see Cherry!!?!??
to this day, i'm still puzzled as to why she was there.

watch closely, she's flying without wings!!!!

that's what will happen if you never open your parachute. -_-"
i know teamkill is off lah, but that doesn't mean you can't die if you don't open your parachute.

the good old days.

Life Is Fine When You Appreciate It

i went home in wet pants, wet boots and wet socks today. it was pouring in Yishun. we were caught in the middle of it while on the way home. although, i had the Goretex jacket on, the lower-half of me got wet while my upper body stayed dry.

and Tampines hadn't a single drop of rain.

on the way home on bus 969, the bus broke down. before it even stopped, i felt the engine just stalled. the bus was simply cruising to a stop at the shoulder lane of the TPE along the Punggol exit towards Tampines. the bus driver tried to start back the engine but could not with a rather common a problem; the battery was dead. there was simply no other way. we had to wait for another bus to come along, which it did about 20 minutes later. it was a free ride though we still had to pay for the initial trip.

a very untimely demise. i felt sorry for the bus driver. it wasn't his fault and everyone seems to be blaming him through long, sharp glares. it all bottoms down to appreciation of situation or simply AOS. hey, we were taught SAF laws too!

the situation was, the bus broke down, engine battery went bust and the in-charge, in this case, bus driver couldn't start the engine back. so now the question lies, it is his fault still?

in the Army context, we're talking about a large organisational group, capable of operating in large scales.

we have:
the decision-makers, who tells us what is to be done.
middlemen, the junior commanders that thinks of how its going to happen.
and finally, ground people, that makes it happen.

when any one entity fails, it destroys the harmony of the chain of command.

a person placed under command, fails his task, which is partly not due caused by himself. should he himself be reprimanded or his immediate superior?

then it is a question of being a good soldier and a good commander.

which in the civilian world translates to whether you're being a reasonable lot.

as for me, as selfish as i had wanted to be. all i could think of that very moment was to get home to my family after a hard day's work. i wasn't angry, i wasn't excited neither was i spiteful.

i believe, you wouldn't change people for the extraordinary things you do. rather, it is the things you do for extraordinary people that changes you.

people like to believe they live in a fairytale, i'm the one person who would gladly make it happen whatever the cost.

and that is all there is to it. =)
